I started at 23 and now I'm 26 with the following certifications: CCNA RS & Security, CCNP RS; CompTIA: Network+, Security+, CASP; Juniper JNCIA; CISSP. Going for CCNP Security. Thank you David Bombal for doing great things for the community. I have taken several of your courses. I hope I get to meet you one day.
I lost everything... My mother died of cancer after I cared for her for 13 yrs but, I have been a subscriber of your youtube for about 1 yr now and I can honestly say you have been a solid inspiration despite me having no family to help or rely on... i have always loved computers since the 80's but could never afford them, times have changed now and I managed to save up for a cisco course this year but become heavily ill and lost my home... I saw your video again tonite and so I say to you David... Thank you so. much and I truly thank god for giving you the drive and determination to be the person you are and providing this amazing life changing content here on this platform. I will not give up while I still have a choice and an old computer and cafe or library to be inn while i continue to learn and change my life.... Thank You Mr D Bombal. god bless you
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but so as life goes. I wanted to share a resource that may be of value to you in your pursuit in networking. It's called Cisco Sandbox, and it's free! Lots of different labs for you to work on, just login with your Cisco ID (free also). Hope this helps or is some value to you and best of luck to you!
Thank you David. I too started as an Helpdesk IT Analyst after completing my engineering degree. I studied while I was working there & landed on a job as Associate Network Engineer. Now after 4 years alhamdulillah I am working as a Network Consultant. 😊🙂
Thank you David. I always got inspired with your motivational videos. got benefits with educational videos. I'm from Iraq, every Friday I go to another city 2 hours far. attend a CCNA course then coming back, I feel tired but full of hope that one day I get the job I always dreamed about and get the CCIE one day. NO PAIN NO GAIN
This is one of your best videos Mr. Bombal ... I watched it three times for now ... You are a great example in our community ... Education is the best way to change ourselves to a better version of us ... Thank you for sharing your experience with us and I ALWAYS WOULD LIKE TO WISH YOU ALL THE VERY BEST Mr. Bombal ....
I'm 33 and also decided to change my life and start doing sth what I like. I gained CCENT and study for CCNA. Thanks for this video David, it keeps me going:)
This movie is 3 years old but the message is universal not only for I.T. field. Thanks to David's courses I learned network fundamentals and got my CCNA. I broke into I.T. and now starting 2nd job in this field. This is only the beginning of the journey. Thanks again David!
I am 35 years old and I have been taking care of my immediate family since 2008. I am a Storage Engineer, and I have got good 10 years of Storage experience. Unlike your youngerself, my youngerself made several irrepairable mistakes - one of them is turning down a full time position in USA. Who would say NO to go and settle down in USA? I did because I did not like the job. I am still grateful to my youngerself because I am from an impoverished family, but my youngerself did not settle down for average and taught me how to think big - no matter how bad the situation is! I have a pretty good handle in the technologies I use, but I was not satisfied with what I was doing. I quit my job two months ago and I picked up the courses I need to learn before taking a new job. Python, Networking (Ethernet may fully replace FC soon) and Linux. I have completed Python and I am currently learning Networking - compute is next. Even though I am positive about my decision, I occassionally ask this question to myself. Am I doing the right thing? Am I learning the right coures? Is it really necessary to learn new courses now? I get these questions because of the poor decisions made by my youngerself. I ended up here after watching series of GNS3 installation videos. When you mentioned the courses everyone should take, I was like wow! This is the first time I felt happy for taking a decision. I am now fully confident that I have taken the right decision this time. Thank you for this wonderful video.
I feel so identified with you!!! Thank you David for your courses and videos. People are all the time whining and complaining about the economy and expect the government to change their lives. I am a 40+ old engineer and I will always be a student. The only person who can change your life is yourself, stop blaming your environment and take control of your life.
Well said! Exactly what I did, studied parttime IT in the early 90s, became partner in a sw company, always strived for gaining knowledge rather than looking for making money, and the success will find you. Today I had an interview, the question was "what drives you, what motivates you", answer "knowhow"! So, never stop to be curious, never be afraid of asking "dumb" questions, never let you distract from wondering whats behind...
Your eyes have said it all David. Thanks a lot for such an inspirational story. This video has really helped me in connecting the dots and make use of the time to learn new things and keep myself updated to achieve things in life.
Thank you :) I can relate to quitting a dead end job. I took a leap of faith and quit a secure job of 4 years to do a 12 week full time cyber security course , with no guarantee of a job, and i was completely new to everything aswell - But immediately i felt there is so much to learn. I landed my first role as network engineer shortly after and now i am pursuing CCNA on udemy by yourself :) I want my older self to thank my younger self / current me. So thank you for continuing to inspire and teach :) !!
Your optimism & belief in the possibilities & potential of others is so inspiring! I always feel driven & full of energy after your videos. Thank you for your support & encouragement!
Ohh Dear... No one could imagine the motivation that I got after watching this video.. You simply were the perfect model for a hard working person. Persistence is the key behind all of that.. Thanks David..
Oh my God....you are a beast....This is actually the most important video ever watched for me, related to self-motivation in the IT market.... I just want to thank you, David...... Keep it up !!! Congratulations!!!
God bless you David for getting to where you are now...but also, making videos and courses to now help others who are in the same boat you were in so many years ago. I too, got a Radiology (xray) degree while working long hours years ago. Now..because of you and others, I am now studying for my CCENT and also working on a bachelors degree in Cybersecurity. After getting my CCENT AND CCNA, I want to make security my track...maybe getting CCNA Security or CyberOps. Thanks again!
David you are such an inspiration!! I am studying for my CCNA, and it is difficult for sure, but you make the content easy to understand, and I believe a CCNA is within my grasp!! I am stuck in a dead end technology job where I do not learn anything, and I am on the verge of walking out because I am not satisfied with the work environment and how I am not allowed to take the network over and run with it. I have been searching for jobs, but I am not sure which direction I want to go, so I got to thinking that I love networks, but I also love servers and configuration. I decided that I would pursue a System Administrator position because I can do a lot of different things. Thanks so much to you David for your words and wisdom, it has changed my life!!!!!!
Great, Mr. David, truly exemplary. Your video is a great solace at this point of time and encourages to push hard in spite of situations. The very sight of you gives me good confidence. Thanks a ton and God bless you with more and more accolades in the days to come.
Thank You! It’s nice to watch fancy and flashy stuff. But sometimes watching someone who takes the time to genuinely peer back at you and talk to that soul within is really what you really need. I’m just one person a seemingly nobody, but I’m actually somebody. Thanks for the kick. It won’t ever be the last kick, but it’s a kick at the right time that pushes you down the road enough for someone else to maybe deliver that next rightful kick to your young self. Thank You!
Thank you for your contribution. There's no doubt that your passion for what you do motivates many many others to don't give up and straight forward. Hugs from Brazil! Congrats Mr. Bombal.
This really helped mo so much I feel like I have failed in life and I believe in myself more and more with inspiration like this. We need more people like you Dave, GG.
David, I have annoyance all over - home, outside, no work but when I work, it is a given there are annoyance, show off, harassing so there is no peace and this has been going on since 1991 - unstopped. but now I made a mistake and have a 4 yrs so I have to provide for this rug rat. It was a relief to hear you - and you could not be anymore right - on the money. I wish to have a one and one with you - I need to be on track and get my CCNA asap - since I can't sleep I wanted as much of your videos, Keith Barker and newtwork chuck.
David - great perspective! I never finished uni, but I followed my own path.I did attend part-time while I worked fulltime. I learned to change - just one thing, for my betterment - every day. Some settled into habits, some were negative and discarded. I never regretted my path. "Today is the first day, of the rest of my life" Cheers!
David, I did the same thing with my life and I have benefited from my CCIE and IT career. Young people have access to training and resources better than we had a 20 yrs ago.
Thanks David, Great Video, I love that about thanking my younger self> I remember when I came to the UK I was doing my CCNP while working at McDonald's;)
Thank you Mr David Bombal. Your story is inspiring and gives me the motivation to push on. I have wasted a whole lot of my time in my 20s. Now in my early 30s, I’d like to amend my errors and change my ways. I hope in the future, I too can give back to the community and inspire the younger generations to come with my story. Love all your videos and currently taking up your CCNA course in udemy. Once again, thank you for the lessons in IT and also in life. God bless.. to you and your family.
David, thank you for your video. Frankly speaking I've found myself in such a position - the dead end job, difficulties in my private life, lack of money etc. I've decided to turn my career into cyber security - finished post-graduate studies in digital forensics, finished web-development course and now got my first job in cyber security as SOC analyst with no real job expirience in that matter - only knowledge gained during my evening studies. This video helped me and confirmed that I sould more strictly choose my path. Thanks!!!
All those stress, all those frustration after watching this video I feel more lighter more confidence. Believing myself that I can you do it and just have to keep on learning!
Watched again Mr. Bombal ... Thank You for the kind words and sharing your experience ... You are a great example ... Thank You again ... I WANNA WISH YOU ALL THE VERY BEST Mr. Bombal ...
Thanks, David, this is so valuable and helpful because of you, I get so inspired that I could get better at coding and eventually security. after watching two interviews here (with Cory and one cheerful and funny lady), I'd be learning application and API security, getting my CCNA and just being a better individual, all thanks to you, CHuck and Jeremy I.T labs🤩
"Nothing is stopping me from acquiring the knowledge !!" You are an amazing motivator David. Yes, you are 110% correct that today's generation is much more blessed to have learning stuff easily and widely available. And you Sir, are a major contributor to the success path of many individuals. Thank you from the core of my heart for such great videos and training sessions. I hope that someday I'll get the privilege to meet you in person. -A sincere follower
Yes david you are absolutely right these days knowledge is free & we are fortunate enough that people like you uploading such a nice content. Thanks for the motivation .
I have been following you from the early days of this channel...you are great at what you do...And guess what people like you motivating others make the world a better place!!! The only thing stopping you is "YOU"! This is so true and it's phenomenal hearing from you. Credits to your daughter 👧as well "back to work"
David I know you don' t like to be compared to others, but you are an excelence human being, I really wish That more people were like you. Great vídeo, tanks for that.
Wow! YT had really suggested me Your video at the right time. Yesterday I felt really depressed with my job, my life, and everything, This video had likely give me a glimmer of hope to finish what i started. After months of stagnation in Linux, Ansible, Ccna and docker course. I think I will start it again. Thank You Very much Sir David Bombal. Thank You.
My first contact with IT was in 1984. I will translate IT as Intensive Training. Good videos, technical and motivational ! Watching your videos I decided to change the tracks..."Just do it" is for me, for you David, "Keep walking" !
David Bombal, silence is everything a philosophical point but we got message from that part of wisdom , the world needs more people like you. It is my request please continue this process of touching the ground situation , motivational videos are void of they will not touch ground situation
Been watching for a while but when I saw this video I knew this dude knows what he is talking about, because he has worked hard for it. Thank you so much for this video, more people (especially younger people) need to see this. Can confirm that family can be a powerful motivator. Thank you sir and the future me will thank both of us.
I am gonna turn this life around. I got laid off a month back. For last one month I have been doing CCNP Labs for routing and switching clocking an average 6 hours daily. Your videos teach and inspire me. Sir, I wish you a good day and lot of power to make lives better. Have a great day ahead.
Thanks David I needed that! I've been stuck in a loop with the justice system on probation... I have arhorithy that controls my money and I've been my whole youth in youth jails because of my parents that couldn't care for me.... This year is really the first year I got accomplished alot of things and you played a big role in it. Your story is a bit like mine but I had to quit school when i was 13 and was sent to an institute full of drug abusers (I wasn't using anything back then) So thank you for this opportunity you give us you are truly helpful❤
You are a very nice man Mr David You always motivaite me and i get my energy from your motivation videos, i have started studying CCNA with your course in udemy and i hop that after 3 months from now that i will pass CCNA exam. Thank you so muach Mr David, i wish to you all the good thing in your life❤️. Greetings to you from Libya🇱🇾.
Big round of applause for you from a young egyptian fan, who just choose to follow your path recently, so my older self would thank my younger self in the future for the decision my younger self has just made. By the way, i think we need more motivational content like this every once in a while. Thank You David Bombal
Just seeing this now and I'm already super inspired to push on. On a career change path and your video has reassured me to keep moving and doing the best I can to achieve my goal. This is heaven sent, many thanks sir.
Great video! and your right, technology moves so fast, I can't keep up, I'm 56 and have to keep changing books, videos & studies to maintain my job duties. Hence, I've become a jack of all trades, master of none.... I have to go back to fill in those gaps where I left off & re-learn what I'd forgotten.... its become a loop. data-center duties, wi-fi, wan, lan, vlans.... I am a warrior with a shield, but no sword. But, I love it... Thanks David for your Altruism.
It's a very strange thing. I owned a plant shop, then i had to close It because of the financial crysis so I become a chef, i studied a lot to do it. Now I Need to change my Life again because of the covid and started to study ccna. Thank you very much for this video! It gives me a lot of Energy and motivatio. Cheers from Italy!
It's not easy working in retail store... At the moment I work as a customer assistant full time. I passed my ICND 2 exam today and now I am looking for a job. I have applied for several vacancies and I am prepared for interviews. Thank you so much David Bombal you have been such an inspiration for me. Your icnd 1/2 courses and packet Tracer lab had a vital impact on my studies. THANKS YOU
I got your channel , when I have no idea about how and where to start the IT related stuffs .man, thanks your inspiration.. you helped me to design my path .. you’re not just doing good , you’re doing great.. keep doing ..
so grateful to have come across this video. it's been so uplifting and I feel re-invigorated to pick up from the most recent travails I've had. Thank you and God bless. p.s you have a beautiful family !!!
You are an inspiration to so many out there. With the rapid changing atmosphere in the working world many of us are burdened by the anxieties of the next move. Automation is threatening so many jobs and not all of those displaced workers can simply transfer to the tech especially at the level that AI, Big Data, Analytics, Cloud and Development requires. But you are indeed correct. We really have to learn to love to learn because of the rapid pace of change learning will be a non-stop endeavor. Thank you the videos and keep up this excellent work.
David, you remind me of my first year programming lecturer, he was a very knowledgable man, like yourself, he was always straight down the middle, knew the answer to all the worlds question. Thanks for your videos😄
You are inspirational. You brought tears to my eyes. I love your channel and so lucky to have you. I watched many of your videos but this was the best.
Very inspirational indeed. Your daughter is a gem and it seems like my son has read the same playbook where toys get top billing. 😅 I went back to school in my early 30s, which was prompted by my wife. Three years later I finished my associate degree (never finished that in my early 20s) and went on to earn my bachelor's degree in MIS. Made the huge mistake of staying in a family business until two months ago. Now in my early 50s, I decided to close down the family business after my dad died. I am about to take my Comptia A+ exams and then begin studying for the ccent. Goal is to attain my ccna in due time, which by that and based on my age, will be very soon I hope. I am going to use your Udemy courses as a major role for my studies. Thank you so much for your time, knowledge and inspiration. 👍
You have no idea how badly I needed to see this video :( I feel like I'm stuck. For three years Ive been working night shifts and my boss wont give me a raise and i just feel so hopeless and lost and i feel like i dont know what i want to do in life anymore. You give me hope.. Hi David , Thanks for sharing your story. Very Inspiring !!
A great love from my Kurdistan to you.
This video was changes so many things in my mind.
Thank you a lot.
David, you remind me of my first year programming lecturer, he was a very knowledgable man, like yourself, he was always straight down the middle, knew the answer to all the worlds question. Thanks for your videos😄

Thank you for your honest words David. You're absolutely right. Everything is in our hands.
Very inspirational indeed. Your daughter is a gem and it seems like my son has read the same playbook where toys get top billing. 😅
I went back to school in my early 30s, which was prompted by my wife. 👍
Thank you for sharing Ross! Always fantastic to get feedback and hear stories like yours. All the best with your studies!
