Finally a short film that care about the firearms action and sound.
It was a great honor to write and compose the music for the film! A bunch of talented and professional guys!
Music is UNBELIEVABLE
Was this recorded with an actual orechestra? It sounds fantastic
@@lachlanmayfield4599 Thank you very much! It's not a real orchestra. I recorded all of it with MIDI on the computer :)
NAsoundtracks wow, I legitimately thought that was a real orchestra, amazing job! What midi did you use?
@@lachlanmayfield4599 Be a bit more specific what do you want to know because there is many midi instruments in there :). Did you watch my video 'Behind of the score' of the film? You can see all what and how I did it.
Fantastic , i feel touched by this, shows how no matter the side or uniform , we are all human.
This is way better than anything Hollywood ever produced thank you for not portraying every German in ww2 as bloodthirsty monsters.
Soundwave Superior although the nazis were horrible people and did horrible things, not all of them were evil I agree with your comment. Thank you for posting it.
It’s important to recognize that the Wehrmacht was not the same as the Waffen-SS. Many of the men in the general German forces were conscripted and did not share the same radical beliefs as their SS counterparts. This is not to say that some weren’t vile human beings, but there were terrible people on all sides of the war, Americans included.
oh, Adam...You've come SO Far since those first films in the back garden, with you and Mike playing 8 roles apiece and using old shotguns. You are going far, I'm sure.
Well Done to all your colleagues.
A beautiful film, came across the this from my growing obsession with 35mm film. It's inspiring to watch and also the execution behind this is so good. Welldone Guys!
Same lol
Wow, I've watched a lot of short films on UA-cam, but this is the first one that not only has a good story, but is also technically well done. Most of the time they're lacking in one of the two areas. This had amazing cinematography, some very good acting, and the best thing was actually the mix and score. I'm a big fan of cinematography and cameras, but I have to say that this film was made by the mix and score, well done to everyone who worked on this. The worst part was a slightly janky tilt, and that's not even that big of a deal.
The best short film on youtube. I love it
not enough attention to this amazing Short!!!
Thank you, please share it around!
Amazing that this was all shot on 35mm!!!
I see the difference. The texture is special. Great SFX as well...
This is my first time watching a indie short film shot in 35mm
The foley work is top notch, weapon sounds are also on point, even featuring a clang from an empty M1 clip.
Awesome movie! I loved the direction of the film, the photography and the story! Amazing shots of photography! The SOUNDTRACK IS AMAZING!!! that accompanied the film was very high quality and made me feel what was happening in the soldiers' souls. Really Amazing work! Good luck and waiting for more films!
This might be one of the greatest short films I've seen. Such good quality. You really show a terrific sense of craft.
Thank you very much
My god that is epic !!!!! Heartbreaking stuff .
Amazing quality production and narrative too, huge difference in comparison to the usual muck!
Wow. My uncle captured a castle during WW2 under similar geographic circumstances although the outcome wasn't so dramatic. He was on a solo scout patrol when he spotted the castle. An artist, he loved drawing stones and stone structures and he studied it before emerging from the woods when he began slowly crawling through a meadow towards the castle. Presently he saw a white flag raised and then a German officer emerged and spoke to him, surrendering the castle and other soldiers from within the castle. This was a dream come true for him and we still have photographs of him with the officer's saber and sidearms along with the Nazi flag. He piled all their weapons up in a heap after taking his own souvenirs and then when the rest of his group arrived let them divide things up. He said he slept in the master bedroom that night. The war was over. He survived the Battle Of The Bulge and other fighting up to that point. I loved this little film.
This is the only short movie that I know that is made with 35mm film on UA-cam
Wow...all this without a word of dialogue...masterful
Bravo! Now that's a war film, the sound, color, cinematography and not forgetting the acting, .
... BEAUTIFUL!! Worthy of an academy award! 🙂
This is brilliant on every level. Very proud of all these talented guys. They're going to be stars of the future
Just awesome. I can't believe the quality of these short films. Well done to everyone involved. Now post another one.
Excellent.
I found your channel after looking up some of your old videos that I used to watch years ago, but I’m amazed with your new content. You’ve come so far it’s incredible. I also love seeing things shot on film, it has such a good look and feel.
Wow. You've definately come a long way since the Medal of Honor videos back in the day.
Nice little short film.
Nice job fellas! And thanks for shooting it on Film.
Fantastic short film guys, I’m so glad you were able to get to film on actual 35mm, must’ve been a lot of fun. Keep up the top work lads
Love your work. Thanks. 🙏
This is a fantastic short. Narrative is so simple yet so effective. I can't wait to see more.
Love it!! And the MUSIC is FANTASTIC!
It always astonishes me how many people are involved in production. The film was good, sound fantastic!

Really beautiful film! Great work! Also really cool that it’s shoot on 35mm
Beautiful work. Touching conclusion.
I was just thinking about making a short film on actual FILM. If its not shot on a film, it is not a story, it is just a report. Really beautiful work here.
Absolutely top notch.
A very enjoyable short film. Beautifully shot (on film) The editing, and music score is up there with the best of them. High 5 to everyone involved..

My team and I are shooting a World War 2 film ourselves. Love to share more with you.
Is there an opportunity to connect with you. Love to ask a few questions regarding the film.
Wow! This was absolutely amazing. Honestly I think this is so much better than some of the stuff Hollywood had made. This was bloody amazing!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the kind words 🙌
@@TheFilmGraduates the location is damn pretty, how did you get so much quality scan. Not even a dvd has that quality
@@bryanotero123 The film was processed by CineLab London. We will be putting a behind the scenes out for the film soon.
Heartbreaking.
Ficou muito bom o resultado desse curta-metragem. Interessante.
This is fantastic and clearly carries high production value. Stellar job, very difficult to conceive an Action/War story on little funds and you did it well.
Can u guys do some tutorials for muzzle flashes or a new blood hits one. There used to be a muzzle flash one on ur channel ages ago but I never watched.
The shot at 6:19 looks incredible.
Beautifully shot! One of the best short films I've watched all year.
Yes. It was entertaining. But the sua guy being the winner was expected.
Did you use panavision cameras? If not, what did u use?
What part of Dunkirk was this from?
Excellent cinematography, I find the story very straightforward, and the coloring of the film could use a bit more work, the film is wonderful but it looked like it was shot digitally. but overall, excellent film.
Класс! Хорошая работа! Дымка не хватает

love your work man. Would love to get in touch with you?
why there are no million views for this short film?
What happened to the injury to his arm ?
Hi, do you know where you can get CHEAP uniforms? For UK
Soldier of fortune website
How long did it take to make this, from completion of the script to posting it?
It took a month to write, plan and shoot. Then about three weeks of post production. However it took more than 5 months to find a composer and get the score made.
this gives me a lesson that.
"what is war?"
What we've gathered in 8 minutes and 25 seconds: neither Americans nor Germans knew jack squat about basic rifle marksmanship and Americans had discovered a way to heal bullet wounds in a matter of a couple of minutes.
war is sad :'(
Just curious how much it cost to make this film?
How much it costs to shoot this on film
Puro cine
Honestly the only reason why I came here was because of Joe Ashman lol
What was the budget?
Roughly £4000
this walked so 1917 could run
Music lets it down .... keep it subtle and less frumpy...

Is the cost of producing with film more expensive than manufacturing with today's digital cameras?
It depends on the scale of the project and the personalised deals you can arrange with providers. What you spend on stock and processing, you may save later down the line, in regards to time and resources spent in post production.
Hello
Decent. Has a Speilberg feel to it, hope that was what you were after?
