Lol there is enough written about british out there . People who are actually ignored are the millions of indian troops, millions of African troops and Chinese soldiers . Their sacrifice had impacts on almost all major battles but sadly they are never mentioned. Like they never existed.
Those first days in normandy had to be crazy and confusing. God bless our soldiers. Americans, Aussies, New Zealanders , free French, brits , free polish brigade and all allied forces. To free Europe of tyranny and oppression.
Astonishing work i really enjoyed this short. The connection to the sergeant was powerful and when he died it was upsetting. Overall 9/10 only because the long shot of the perfectly paved road and field with the church looked like a modern timezone not something im WW2, however take this with a grain of salt this film was a work of art
Great job mates. The cinematography is excellent the actors are amazing the story is definitely something to write home about and the level of detail is crazy. Overall an amazing piece of art. 8/10!
If you enjoyed 'Our Father', please do subscribe! We currently have a new short film in post-production that we shot back in January. We've taken your feedback and everything we learned from this film 5 years ago and implemented it into a bigger and more ambitious war film. Our new film, 'Divided We Stand', is a World War I film following two soldiers from opposing sides who confront one another after becoming trapped in a Belgian barn in 1917 Ypres. You can keep up-to-date on this film on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or website www.smashingukproductions.com. For those who didn't like 'Our Father', thank you nonetheless for at least giving it a try, we are open to all feedback, both positive and negative, so please let us know your opinions below! Our Father is a good representation of a World War 2 short film should look like. The camera work and not to mention the color grading was perfect for the film's tone and feeling. Customer Craig Leonard also really nailed both uniforms and weapons. The director, Calum Rhys, did a great job with his one. This guy has some great potential. However I do feel the muzzle flashes felt a bit off. Maybe this could be fixed with some smoke elements? But now I'm just nitpicking. Overall I really enjoyed the short film, I'd love to see more content from you. Well spent 15 minutes.
@@Hordalending Not every german soldier was a Nazi. There is a good series about the german soldiers in russia "verstaubt sind die Gesichter" (ua-cam.com/video/WBv-ukzIV_U/v-deo.html)

Thanks to my Dad ( Canadian army) my uncle Paul(RCAF) And my uncle Jim (RCN) I owe a debt of gratitude that never be repaid. This film sums it up.
Sad that no Movie company can make such powerful movies depicting how much War effects those of every side....also great seeing a short about our British Brothers in Arms.
Some of the finest films you’ll see were made in wartime Britain. A nation under siege and its people pushed on in every capacity. Art and ammunition, love and brutality.
Well done, good attention to detail - uniforms, weapons etc.. But a depressing ending..that young man needed to find a way to get his butt back in the war. Sarge was right - evil must be confronted. "Duty is heavier than a mountain; death is lighter than a feather."
Camera Quality and angle of shots is beautiful. Dress is perfect, weapons are too. However i feel that some of the noises from explosions were off, and so too the weapons. Further, the way the actors were holding them wasn't too great. The kid that was shot first, his death felt as if it was somewhat put on, such as when he closed his eyes to die.. that dosnt generally happen.
Harry Everett yes the acting performance are beginners, but it's a short film, and it's made to learn, the visual like you said are fantastic!! It's a really good story👍
Harry Everett weapons actually aren't perfect Unless every German soldier was an officer they wouldn't all have mp40's in fact most would be equipped with a Kar 98

Great movie, I really enjoyed it. Distance between the soldiers walking on the road should be much greater (5-10 meters). One grenade or machine gun could take them all out, when they walk so close. Besides in an open terrain like that, in that small group, they would never walk in a line like shown, but in disarray. The LMG should be in front and when they stop for the vehicle its not when they are 10 meters from it, but as soon as they see it, which would be far greater distance than in the movie. Last but not least the Sergent would never be the one to go up and check a vehicle. Besides that good job! The costumes were on point!
