She is incredible. Give a listen to "Tot Musica" and "Aishite Aishite Aishite". This young woman seems to me like a voice actor that sings. So many characters in her songs.

I think your reaction here very much mirrored my own. I first heard the studio version of her performing this song and later found the live one and was completing blown away at the raw emotion put into this performance, I cannot overstate how much I LOVE this performance

Just so you know: Ado made her debut one day before her 18. Birthday and reached with her debut song "usseewa" the top of the billboard 100 in Japan She is currently 21 years old and just finished her last stop of her worldtour 'wish' on the 1st of April in Austin (Texas? *probably 😅) Another thing: this song is a cover version from the Tokio Ghoul Opening (Anime) and in the past she lend her singing voice to one of the main characters in the One Piece Film Red movie -> Uta
That song was the performance of the year (at least for me). Ado is at this point I think one of, if not THE, most engaging and powerful voices on the planet. She is such a vocal artists/performer that she embodies the characterizations needed for the song and does them justice. The entire Uta's Songs: One Piece Film Red album is a wonderful collection of different genres and she nails each one flawlessly. The album of covers is amazing and I believe outperform the originals. I would strongly suggest: Crime and Punishment, New Genesis, Show, Usseewa piano version, Tot Musica, Backlight, Buruki no dance, I'm invincible. There are soooooo many you can look at. She's truly unbelievable in every sense of the word.

aw heck yes! As a huge metalhead I fell into the Ado rabbithole last week and I've pretty much haven't been listening to anything else since,lol. Her voice is just unreal. Her discography is filled with a whole variety of music-styles from sugary J-Pop, over weird jazzy vocaloid covers to stuff like this. and she nails every single genre. I recommend the live videos for "Show" (it's more of a EDM banger) or the recently released Usseewa live video (LIVE映像】うっせぇわ 喜劇〜カムパネルラ〜蜃気楼〜マーズ【Ado]) for some more unhinged Ado.
I just got to see her do this live a few weeks ago and the closest comparison I have was seeing Prince do Purple Rain live. She's by far my favorite new vocalist. Give Crime and Punishment, Tot Musica and Value a listen. Realistically everything she touches is gold.

I also recommend "Crime and Punishment" and "Value" which are both very expressive and beautiful (in different ways) and I just love them. And honestly she has a bunch of other bangers. She doesn't write any of her music but she covers some really great songs really well and also has great originals written for her by various people.
Please watch the song with lyrics and translation. All of the highs, lows and screams in her vocals are all placed in areas fitting to the lyrics and the story, its insane. You can feel the story without the lyrics, but you'll live through the story when you know the lyrics as well. Ado as usual, storytelling with genius voice play.

A quick comment about the cage. She performs in the cage in all of her public appearances including live tours and on TV. Though I'm sure some symbolic representation could be interpreted, it's mainly a tool for her to keep her anonymity while she performs. When she's in the cage, she has more flexibility with her performance as they can light up the band members and do some lighting/pyrotechnics towards the front of the stage and the cage, with its filter, can continue to hide Ado's identity (spoiler, the cage itself lights up too!). When she's outside of the cage, everything needs to be backlit and the entire lighting needs to be toned down so that she isn't exposed.

Ado and her as Uta are great. Most of her songs have massive views on YT. This one is a cover of the opening for the anime "Tokyo Ghoul" by TK from 凛として時雨 and it's kind of a miss for me. The original is just that good IMHO. I still get chills every time I hear it though, poor Ken never stood a chance.

Yeah there is sooo much to see. There are other artists who also hide their identity with amazing voices, if you want to go down the vtuber rabbit hole there are at least 20 songs i can think of which are amazing (suggest Hoshimashi Suisei - Ghost, Tokoyami Towa - Pallete and Ayunda Risu - Sing Out as artists). But I will say that Ado in particular is one of the hottest artists. What i would suggest is checking out 'the first take' if you haven't already done so, they have japanese artists come in and perform their songs live in '1 take'. so even if they mess up, they have to keep going. im listening to music for quite some decades and never ever found anyone transporting emotions as intense as Ado

Ado and her as Uta are great. Most of her songs have massive views on YT. This one is a cover of the opening for the anime "Tokyo Ghoul" by TK from 凛として時雨 and it's kind of a miss for me. The original is just that good IMHO. I still get chills every time I hear it though, poor Ken never stood a chance.
She is the best. Seriously no one in the world can do what she does.

welcome to the mind blowing world of Ado. The song Unravel is the opening song to the anime of Tokyo Ghoul where the lead character is loosing his Humanity in a world of Ghouls.
I’ll suggest you to listen to her other songs and they are all amazing. I think it’s a talent to sing like this Becuz it’s really difficult. Like in the beginning of the song,she sings like she’s whispering and I couldn’t even do that lol

Yeah there is sooo much to see. There are other artists who also hide their identity with amazing voices, if you want to go down the vtuber rabbit hole there are at least 20 songs i can think of which are amazing (suggest Hoshimashi Suisei - Ghost, Tokoyami Towa - Pallete and Ayunda Risu - Sing Out as artists). But I will say that Ado in particular is one of the hottest artists. What i would suggest is checking out 'the first take' if you haven't already done so, they have japanese artists come in and perform their songs live in '1 take'. so even if they mess up, they have to keep going. Suggest' Creepy nuts - Bling bang bang born' for some fun

@@ChaseCarneson ADO is a phenomenon, and I'd definitely recommend checking out more, but since unravel was already such a great song you might also want to branch out into ASTERISM's rendition. It's an instrumental version and after hearing ADO you might see how tall of an order that is. Having the guitar sing is *almost* as awesome as ADO herself :)
