Good stuff MM!! That 453-490 is the mold that Walter and I just got. We both had ta super heat ours to make them run proper. Interesting ta see what happens to Yours.
Great video Macman! I ran through a very similar process with my latest mold. My first NOE and I wanted to be extra careful. Cleaned and prepped, I used my hot plate to heat cycle it, unsure about using the oven. I'll try that next time for sure though. I don't have any brass molds yet though and will be ordering one just so I can try it. Thanks for sharing!
Good stuff there, Mac. As you can imagine, I’m anxious to see how yours run. I would suggest just casting ONE mold at a time with these guys for the first go. Call if you have any other questions 😀🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸
Enjoyed the video and just subscribed just getting into some reloading myself I just ordered enough stuff to actually get me started on my first reloading which is the 45 ACP/223/45 Long colt and the 357 been watching videos on reloading. CW. /MarcThomas and Walter. Really enjoys there videos have learned a lot watching. Two I feel very comfortable in making my first attempt to reload my first round. 👍👍👍👍
Good to see you have one of my designs. It works quite well in the 45 ACP also.
I always get excited about new moulds but I dread the prep work in means of heat cycling but I never skip this step. Thanks for sharing Macman

Thank you Marc, the oven works really well as long as you can keep the temp right

I see alot of people smoke the cavities. Is smoking the cavities not necessary? Thanks
I have never smoked them and a lot of the people I talk to don’t bother either just heat cycle them two or three times and you’re good to go
@@macman039reloading5 Thank you! I'm heat cycling my molds as we speak
What % of metals do you melt? Tin/zink/lead?
I use wheel weights with a little tin
You never want zinc in your lead alloy. Bad things happen.
