Beautiful 🤩
@@jaygee3652 thank you
From what I understand with those Hornaday bullets in particular is shorter case length due to longer bullets hence less case capacity resulting in higher pressure compared to other loads with the same amount of powder. Definitely best to air on the side of caution.
Dont shoot. I haven't mine in 5 years, still new.
@@wayneferguson1324 that’s cool
Shoot it, they're made to shoot, but it's your gun your choice. Either way nice gun ,congratulations on your purchase.
1877 Colt Thunderer, originally a double action apparently they were the preferred firearms of Doc Holiday and John Wesley Hardin, I always liked the birds head grips. Beautiful revolver.

I get a bunch of failure to feed from probably Chinese mags
@@manuelochoa7082 this one has been pretty good but I only use kimber mags
Did you get a kimber mag? Cause I didn’t. Kinda sad for the price I paid
@@manuelochoa7082 yes only kimber mags

@@ARPatriot1776Official soon be back
I have the original Eclipse Custom government in 10mm. It’s a really nice piece slide to frame fit is impressive with absolutely no side to side movement and the rear is very well blended. It is perfectly smooth and the extractor is not proud like they can be on lower end 1911 I got mine used as well and it is my favorite 10 mm pistol I have had
I was looking at these its way over 500$ after you get all the bits and pieces! Is it really worth it?
@@barndweller4573 I absolutely love it. It is super precise, but I do a lot of precision reloading so for me it was well worth it.
Awesome Mac!

PRICE ???
@@jeffadams9807 sorry can’t put prices on here
Were you able to find these still available?
@@brendonabel09 at the moment there are out of stock but hopefully back in soon
Is the am toolhead worth the cost vs oem
The difference in OAL and starting grains in Hornady manual vs Hogdon website is because they’re different bullets. The Hornady has the gummy tip and is a long bullet, thus needing shorter brass. The online load you looked up is for a Barnes flat nose bullet.
Hello, are you still able to order these? I am interested in a set..
@@brendonabel09 I wil check
Awesome thank you, let me know 👍
@macman039reloading5 any luck?
These guns have become a rarity and are valuable works of art, but at the end of the day, they are just very well made tools. Shoot it and enjoy it.
I just got one number dls127
@@melmer238_yt3 very nice
Thanks for the video. I'm just getting ready to start loading some 45-70. reading the difference between the 45-70 and 45-70 LEVERevolution brass, etc. I noticed when buying my Lee dies sets they have 2 different sets "45-70 Gov't Full Length 3 Die Set" and the "45-70 Government LEVERevolution Full Length 4 Die Set" So I bought both. Im guessing this will help with the issues for reloading the 2 slightly different reloads. I'll see very soon.

Where can i get one? They are so hard to find
@@ryanc5681 I think you can get them on line
That’s sick!! But why didn’t he grab the fore grip?😭
@@Hellrasiernikk always hold it there for stability
@@macman039reloading5that’s what the grip is for…
Because of the longer Hornady bullet. It wouldn’t cycle if you don’t trim it.
@@jeffdaniels4945 great info thanks
How is this scope working out for you?..
@@kevinhullinger8743 it’s been great really like it for a budget scope

Im a fan of redundancy. Especially as a newby in reloading. Thank you.
Jesus, could that suite be any uglier, any more sterile? I am sure glad you were favorably impressed.
Excellent video. Thank you
I bought one when I turned 21. It was at an Oshman''s sporting goods store. It was a .45 Colt with the 71/2 barrel. I was well out of the price range of a 21 year old who barely had a full time job. I'd go to the store once in a while just to look and wonder what it'd be like to own one. Then one day the manager said If I couldn't afford to pay cash I could charge it. Back then you actually had to have credit before you could get a card. Not like today where you'd still be approved knowing you had bad credit. So the manager put the Colt on layaway. I put down $50 which was big money back then. As far as I can recall the price of gold and a Colt SAA matched most of the time. As near as I can remember that Colt sold for $600. It was a 90 day layaway and I told him there was no way I could afford to pay off even at $36/week for three months. I eventually paid of the Colt from layaway in just under six months. When I got it home I could hardly stop lookin at it. I had a little BS bank job and promptly took the revolver box and all and locked it up on my safety deposit box and there is sat nearly forgotten for 10 years. When I quit the bank I emptied the safety deposit box and took it home. I had it another 20 years before my home was broken into and my guns stolen. Back then gun safes weren't as popular or as sturdy as they are now. I cannot see myself spending nearly $2k on a revolver so I bought a Uberti Cattleman 4.75" barrel, blued with case hardened frame. Uberti makes their SAA and lever rifles are exact copies Colt and Winchester since those patents have expired long ago. I wish I had my Colt SAA but I am very happy with my Uberti.
Since you done pulled back the hammer you might as well fire it. It's too bad they don't use the original finish, charcoal blue. 💙 It's the most beautiful finish. I made a mistake and brought my daughter to a shop which stocks them. She was going to get new Colts. Fire it, they hardly kick at all. Use Cowboy loads if you can find them.
Are these legal now?
Always been
Can anyone tell the length of the barrel?
Congrats Macman! You are a welcome addition to the fold.
