I found a new in the box second generation Colt SAA 4 3/4” .45 two weeks , I fired it the next day, I would not be able to sleep if I had a new gun and didn’t shoot it.

Does anyone have the sub tension data for the MOA version of this scope? Monstrum does not have it and does not provide that info!! currently not feeling the Monstrum love!! When you finally get a response from their customer service department after 4 attempts, then they do not follow up. it has been over 3 weeks since their last contact with me. I feel this is important info they should provide to all of us!! What say you guys??

Love the FNX.45 it’s my favorite gun but I do wish they made it look cooler with like some nice machine work. It’s nowhere near as ugly as the Glock but still isn’t super pretty either. With that said it’s a freaking awesome accurate.45 that holds 15+1 which is what sold me.

Horniday FTX bullets use cases trimmed to 2.040 . All other 45-70 loads the cases MAX case length is 2.105 recommended Case Trim length 2.095 so when you trim to 2.095 you can use it several times before it would stretch to longer than 2.105. Cases longer than 2.105 must be trimmed however so long as the case is 2.105 but no less than 2.095 it will work for any bullet except the FTX. What that means is when you have short cases made for FTX bullets they will not be long enough to get a good crimp in the correct place if you use any other bullet. Note: 45-70 jacketed bullets are .458 diameter where some cast lead or coated lead are slightly larger. Do not use .452 diameter bullets they are for .45 Long Colt and .451 diameter bullets are for .45ACP.

I went for a Lee due to the fact I want to reload 6.5 Creedmoor and smaller batches of 9mm and 556. My friend has a Dillon Press and probably goes through 5x the ammo I do so I think I made the right choice. Also I prefer having more time to spend per round instead of rushing it.

From what I understand with those Hornaday bullets in particular is shorter case length due to longer bullets hence less case capacity resulting in higher pressure compared to other loads with the same amount of powder. Definitely best to air on the side of caution.

I have the original Eclipse Custom government in 10mm. It’s a really nice piece slide to frame fit is impressive with absolutely no side to side movement and the rear is very well blended. It is perfectly smooth and the extractor is not proud like they can be on lower end 1911 I got mine used as well and it is my favorite 10 mm pistol I have had

The difference in OAL and starting grains in Hornady manual vs Hogdon website is because they’re different bullets. The Hornady has the gummy tip and is a long bullet, thus needing shorter brass. The online load you looked up is for a Barnes flat nose bullet.

Thanks for the video. I'm just getting ready to start loading some 45-70. reading the difference between the 45-70 and 45-70 LEVERevolution brass, etc. I noticed when buying my Lee dies sets they have 2 different sets "45-70 Gov't Full Length 3 Die Set" and the "45-70 Government LEVERevolution Full Length 4 Die Set" So I bought both. Im guessing this will help with the issues for reloading the 2 slightly different reloads. I'll see very soon.

Because of the longer Hornady bullet. It wouldn’t cycle if you don’t trim it.
