The color appears to be Dark Spiral Grey Metallic. Looks great!
Nice! I love the color. It's very rare on the JDM auction sites to find a 25+ year old Acty with a working air conditioner. The Daihatsu Hijet A/C units seem to last longer.
I bought a 1996 Hijet a month ago but it hasn't shipped from Japan yet. It's a 4WD with HI/LO transfer case, but I didn't get the diff lock or A/C that was on my shopping list because the truck was such a good deal for its features and condition. It seemed to be mostly lost on the seller's site and didn't pop up when searching for Hijets so that's probably why nobody bought it and the bot kept lowering the price. I paid $370 for the truck, but it costs $2010 to ship it to the US. It only has 71,000 km (timing belt recently changed) and no frame corrosion. There's barely a little light surface rust on the body in a few spots, mostly the bed hinges and a scratch on the front. That will all be sanded to bare metal and primed. Then the entire truck is going to be "painted" inside and out with gray Monstaliner bed liner for a very tough maintenance free finish. I'll put a 2 inch coil over lift kit on it with 25" Tusk Terrabite tires (tyres) and a double DIN stereo with a backup camera. I need to work out some locking external storage for tools, off road recovery equipment, straps, etc. I'll probably cob something together from large military surplus ammo cans on each side of the headache rack, below the rear windows but preserving the full bed footprint for hauling sheets of plywood or drywall, and the middle of the bed retained full length for transporting a motorcycle, etc. Yea! I have a winter project! Waiting for the Hijet to arrive from Japan is tortuous.
When it new arrives, you should put a walk-a-round for us.
@@user936 - I had to have a clutch installed but I've been daily driving the 4WD Hijet for over six months and I love it. It's surprisingly capable. These are great little trucks. We really should have 1.2 liter versions of kei trucks as standard vehicles in the US. I've been making videos of the maintenance and upgrades I've been doing on the Hijet but haven't posted anything to UA-cam yet.
When I was a kid remember my dad having a couple of acty panel vans . Remember the bodywork going a bit rusty

Hard cargo in Japan do a nice cargo rack that drills into the bed and goes over the cab.

They're not dude, stock is either 12" or 13". These are 16".
