I only have 1 ground (bare) wire, 1 neutral (white) wire, and 1 live (black) wire - not 2 black wires, no red wires in the box. Do I connect live black to the black and red wires on the switch?
I’m having the same issue. My wiring makes no sense. Seems like there should be 2 romex cables coming into the box. 1 from the breaker to the switch then another from the switch to the light
@@FortBragg4eva Gosund won't work with our wiring. This one does: smile.amazon.com/Lutron-Caseta-Smart-Start-Kit-Dimmer-Switch-with-Smart-Bridge-and-Wall-Mount-Pico-Adapter-Works/dp/B07G5V6M6G/ref=cm_wl_huc_item
You'll have to reach out to the brand directly! -MB
Worked like a charm. I was putting the live and load together (black & red). Once I separated the wires it worked!!! Thank You DD.
That's great to hear! Glad to help! Be sure to subscribe! -MB
Now Im enjoying my smart switch from Gosund at home. So efficient and safe to use. Thanks to this video!
Nice review! I’m so glad you walked us through the app as I was curious about the feature set.
Glad you liked it!

After buying gosund smart switches I was confused with setup after seeing this it is soo easy to setup, the products are working so smart with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Enjoying the Gosund Smart Light Dimmer at home with my hubby..Thanks for the video..
Thanks for your help it works great with Alexa now
Thanks, David!
Thanks for the comment!! Be sure to subscribe! -MB
Subscribed! I had installed smart plugs and also smart switches two years ago, and forgot the terminology. We refer to 'Line' as 'Hot' or 'Power IN' and 'Load' as 'Power OUT'. Now all is clear! Thanks! @@DigitalDavid
Done! Thanks!@@DigitalDavid
This video was really helpful! I now enjoy this product at home, thank you
My Question is Does this Switch work on 120 vOLT OR 220 vOLT
120!
~B
Awesome! I enjoyed your video. I just ordered Gosunds Smart Dimmers, can’t wait to put your video into play
Everything looks good except it doesn’t go very dim on the lowest setting. I’ll probably give it a try anyhow but that lowest setting isn’t very low.
Thanks for commenting! Hope you like it!
~B
@@DigitalDavid I did purchase it and I’m happy with it. I wish I could dim it a bit further but as is, it does the job and at a much lower price than Leviton.
Thank you for the great review!
Thank you so much for this video. I followed you through this video and everything is up and running, including I have it on Alexa. Thank you.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and commenting!
~B
if two black wires, how do you know which goes to red and which goes to black? the video shows red going to the light but it is not clear when you open an existing light switch.
I'm scared to mess with the wires 😬 I've never messed with electrical stuff besides changing bulbs 🤭
No need to be scared. What is scary is .....Lets see him pull out that Switch (on that test board,1000 hours to complete) out and put the Dimmer switch in! After all ...that's what I need to see.
Let us know how it went! -MB
I don’t have the 2 white wires in my box. So where does the neutral white wire go to. In the instructions it says it’s required but even says “ requires this wire but isn’t always present in your electrical wiring at home “ but dies t tell you what to do if the white wires are not there????
Sorry for the late response. You ever figure it out?
~B
Thank you with this video. I am now enjoying with my Gosund smart switch. #GosundSmartHome
Very nice explanation, thanks. I was looking at the Gosund Smart Wifi Switch Plug Bundle, Smart Dimmer Switch 1pcs and Smart Plug 2pcs bundle. Will the Smart plugs allow independent operation of let's say a table lamp with dimming capabilities?
Great video.keep it up bro.
Thank you so much for the comment and feedback! I hope you hit that sub button and stick around the channel! We are cranking out content and trying to improve each and every video. See you in the chat :)
Can you tell Alexa to Dim the light? Or no? I'm installing these for a person with Parkinson's disease and want to know everything about it. Thank you
Does It Works with a y Led bulb or there are dimmable bulbs?
Hi,
Does this switch work with any light or it has to be the sylvan bulbs like you have in the video? I have some recessed lights so I am just curious
Great video - thanks. Just a tip... "go ahead" and rewatch your video and count the number of times you say "go ahead". Too many.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely do that
~B
I have an old home it only has black and white. What do i do with the red an green?
Whatever you want! haha
~B
Hi, thanks for this video, it helped a lot. But now I'm trying to install the last one and there is only 2 wires in the box, can I join neutral and line wires since the box only have load and line wires?
Did you figure this out? I just ran into this.
@@buLLetpOe no, nobody knows apparently. They just tell me to trial and error it.
How easy is it to remove the printed brand logo? I just want pure white cover and switch without any printing of logos or anything.
The graphic you have in the upper left corner CONSTANTLY moving is really distracting. Just have your social media account information in the video description.
Thanks for the feedback Garran! So we include the graphic in all our videos as a watermark to keep our video from being stolen online. Since implementation we have basically eliminated any downloads and re-uploads... would you have any ideas/suggestions on how we could do that for future videos if we removed it? Any thoughts/ideas on how to keep it on screen but less distracting??
@@DigitalDavid Thanks for the reply! Could the watermark be stationary instead of animated? If your goal is to watermark the video then it doesn't have to be so flashy and attention-grabbing. I sometimes watch videos at 2X speed, and at that speed, you pretty much have a blinking multi-colored distraction. It makes it hard to focus on the content of your video.
If I already have smart bulbs is it really necessary to buy a switch? I’m using google home and can turn lights on and off and can dim and brighten them. I can also schedule timers as well. My son bout a dimmer switch but now I’m wondering if we really need it. The only thing I can think of is that he can use the dimming feature on the switch if having to use bathroom in the middle of the night.
Not necessary unless you want it!
Confusing how you know which of the 2 black wires in the box do what 🤷♀️
When it comes to wiring a smart dimmer switch, it can be confusing to determine which of the two black wires in the electrical box is the "hot" wire and which one is the "load" wire. The hot wire brings power into the switch, while the load wire carries the power to the light fixture.
One way to determine which wire is which is to use a voltage tester to check the wires for electrical current. Another way is to look at the wiring diagram provided by the manufacturer of the switch. If you are still unsure, it is recommended that you consult a licensed electrician to ensure proper installation and avoid any potential safety hazards. cnl
An electrician will be installing led recessed lighting in a room with multiple lights. I would like to have 4 led recessed lights on one dimmer switch, then 3 led recessed lights on a 2nd dimmer switch and an led recessed spotlight over a piece of artwork on the 3rd dimmer switch. All lights are dimmable leds. I would like to house all 3 dimmers switches next to each other in one faceplate. My question is, when setting up the individual dimmers, how do you determine which one is which upon initial setup? (I think you were calling it SW2) I'm assuming you can change the name of the SW2 in the app??? Thanks, Kristy😊
Yes you can rename them whatever you want within the app!
@@DigitalDavid ok, thank you...i just didn't know if they would confuse each other upon initial setup but I understand now what to do! Great video by the way! Kristy 😊
I installed the Dimmer and use the Switch Wifi on the App. But I cannot see the White icon at the bottom of the app that would let me adjust the dimmer. It shows as only a switch on the app. Is there any special setup to enable the dimmer function on the app ?
I'm honestly not sure on that. Did you ever figure out a way to do it? Sorry I couldn't be more help :(
~B
Hey does anyone know why my physical switch is not working for on-off operation, while I can do dimming operation on it and its also fully operational through App, but I can't switch lights off from the switch itself.
Interesting.. I'm not sure what would cause that.. Good luck!
~B
Does gosund have a smart dimmer switch that is compatible with 3 way?
u've just got a new subscriber.and i've heard too that amio f9 is a great wireless earphone but i couldn't found any trustworthy review in UA-cam. Can we see a video about unboxing and reviewing of amio f9 from your channel???
Thanks for the comment! Someone else has has recommended that to me as well... can you send me a link to them?
Here's the link mysku.ru/blog/aliexpress/76530.html. I hope u make a review of these. Thx for response.👍👍👍👍👍.
If this is first time Out of the Box, you would have to go to AP Mode or Access Point Mode, which you need your Smart Phone to connect to the Wifi of the Smart Dimmer. Because how would would the Smart Dimmer know the credentials of the Wifi Router if it is first time out of the box?
If you have already setup another product using smart life app and the same network it saves the credentials (which is nice) for setup!
I was looking for this video. I ordered a pack of Gosund Smart Light Switch Dimmers, I needed some insights
Awesome happy installation!
I’m installing this now, I wish you would show the blinking light on the switch, so I know what fast and slow looks like.
Thanks for the feedback! We will do that in the future to make sure you can tell!
Hi
Forgive me. Electrician hooked up. We got wifi and alexa set up. It shows lights going on and off in app and alexa says it's off or on but
Nope, lights stay on.
Thanks for vid and if you have any thoughts.
but cant get the light to turn off....so frustrating.
Is anyone else having this issue.
Sorry you are having problems with it :( I haven't hear of that issue before. Were you ever able to get it to work?
~B
What is the light bulb that you used.
Honestly can' t remember, but I'll see if I can find out!
~B
Can this dim lights and also allow color change with color chaning bulbs?
It is a on/off switch and dimmer. Color change is dependent on your bulb!
Good videos......I would like to add if I may...Your videos would be a lot better if you actually show the process of what you're talking about, instead of cutting out the process, and only showing the results.
Thanks for the tip! This is an old video and we have taken that feedback into consideration as our new videos try to show more :)
Have you tried setting up the dimmer/fan switch yet? I think it would be great for everyone to see how to set up a light and fan on the switch!
Not yet, but thanks for the suggestion! Always appreciated!
~B
Would have been nice to actually show the product vs app only experience
Thanks for the feedback! Always appreciated! I'll keep that in mind for future vids

I bought eight switches and six work great, but two of them (independently, in different boxes) will randomly jump to different brightness levels (100 to 1, 1 to 50, anywhere in between), sometimes never and sometimes every few minutes. Any ideas what could be causing this other than a faulty switch?
If you’re using LED bulbs it could be an incompatibility. Different bulbs perform better/worse with different switches. And yes, that really sucks.
Sorry to hear that :( are you using LED bulbs?
~B
So, it ended up being a problem with the sync with Google Home. I reset all my lights, removed from Google home, unpaired/re-paired my smart life account, and re-added them all and it fixed the issue.
But - I am using LED bulbs (all sorts, mostly Amazon that all said LED compatible). Once I figured out the above, everything was great!
CANT I USE THE TUYA APP INSTED??
Yes either app!
You didn’t show using the dimming feature of the switch with Alexa. Can it be used with Alexa?
Shoot I totally spaced on that one! Yes it can! So stupid I forgot 😡
Yes
@@DigitalDavid Yea, I am interested in that command... For whatever reason Alexa tells me the device cannot be found when trying to use that command.
Yes it works very well with alexa at my home. Thanks to gosund!!
My modem is 2.4ghz and 5ghz
How can I make this work?
It won't connect right now.
If I st it to 2.4ghz can I change it back to both and will it still stay connected?
I have the same problem, and same question
The switch needs to be on 2.4ghz to setup and work... after setup you can use either 2.4 or 5 on your mobile device to control it. That is indifferent and does not matter. Hope that helps you!

Pls make a video about amio f9 wireless earphone.is that giving us all that they're saying or not?
Can you send me a link to them?

Take out that Light switch and put the Dimmer there?!?!?!?

Wat about actually dimming the lights

DRIVE SaYaYin Qué no entendiste?? Yo te puedo traducir o explicar !!
yo dont. explain well I just got 3 wires
I'm sorry to hear that the video didn't explain the installation process clearly for you. Installing a smart dimmer switch can be a bit tricky, especially if you're not familiar with electrical wiring.
Typically, a smart dimmer switch will have three wires - a black (hot) wire, a white (neutral) wire, and a green or bare copper (ground) wire. To install the switch, you'll need to connect these wires to the corresponding wires in your electrical box.
Here's a basic overview of the process:
1. Turn off the power to the circuit at the breaker box.
2. Remove the old switch from the electrical box.
3. Connect the black wire from the smart dimmer switch to the black (hot) wire in the electrical box.
4. Connect the white wire from the smart dimmer switch to the white (neutral) wire in the electrical box.
5. Connect the green or bare copper wire from the smart dimmer switch to the green or bare copper (ground) wire in the electrical box.
6. Carefully tuck the wires back into the electrical box, making sure they're not touching each other or any metal parts.
7. Attach the smart dimmer switch to the electrical box with the screws provided.
8. Turn the power back on at the breaker box and test the switch.
If you're still having trouble with the installation process, I would recommend seeking the assistance of a licensed electrician to ensure the safety of your installation. cnl
