You could even see a cameraman and a boom mike in this scene. However, this was intentional considering in-context, they are making a show-within-a-show.

0:47 man, I’m in my 40’s and saw this film in theaters in 1990. I still think it’s an enjoyable watch because of darker tone of the film. I love the light hearted 1987 series as well.
I never get tired of the turtle talk.
13:10 I spotted a Ghostbusters 2 prop in Gridlock's hand in that "Operation Blue Line" clip, lol.
The guy doing the backstage interviews went on to become the host of the game show Supermarket Sweep.
Also, the thing that Gridlock was carrying around was originally a tool for measuring paranormal energy used by Egon in Ghostbusters 2.

To answer your question from earlier, I was fortunate enough that my parents took me to a Coming out of their Shells concert at Six Flags over Texas. Everything there was done on-stage. To my little kid memory of thirty years ago, I don't think there were any screens, let alone screens showing the whiney reporter behind stage. Unless other shows were different, or my memory is wrong (entirely possible), I think it was most likely just added for the VHS.

@@theroguecybersoldier2629 I appreciate the correction, but I definitely remember the music for Coming Out of Their Shells being played on stage. If you check the wikipedia article for it, the tour occurred in Six Flags Over Texas from August 2 to August 11, 1991.
Fun fact: Cam Clarke and Peter Renaday reprised their roles as Leonardo and Splinter in the live action tour from the 1987 animated series.

I had the coming out of their shells tour VHS as a kid. I remember freaking out at the shredder every time I watched it and must have seen it 100 times. Those songs are still burned into my brain to this day.
Next Mutation is strange, I liked the costumes (which are pretty solid for late 90s live action TV, honestly), and some of the comedic fight scenes are entertaining. Best thing was definitely the fact it crossed over with Power Rangers, though.
only problem is it wasnt Mighty morphin; it was MegaRanger/In Space

I've never said this about a UA-camr before, but even though I live in the Bahamas, hopefully I see you/talk about "the good ole days". I watched the Coming Out of Their Shells vhs once when I was a kid. I never watched it again. I thought it sucked. I don't think I could ever watch it again.
As for all the other live videos, I have never seen them. I don't think I can after seeing this.
Those RTD suits look similar to a live stage show that I saw at a theme park (in Australia) back in the day. Possible that the suits may have been recycled/reused from a similar production.

There's another ultra-rare Turtles tape out there for some national park, that tape wasn't even given out it was kept for showing people who visited the park so only employees had access to the tape, that park is long defunct so the whereabouts of those tapes are unknown.
The series wasn't bad. It was better than some of the other stuff out at the time. The addition of a 5th turtle was dope af imo 👍
Edit: BTW I have a bud named Johnny or TMNT Johnny. He has a touring TMNT group. They do lots of venues.

Yeah, this was where I found out about "Operation Blue Line" and the "Gettin' Down in Your Town Tour". I will say "Operation Blue Line" is the one the blew my mind the most. I mean those costumes man, did they just hire Party Entertainers and have the original cartoon cast dub (found that out from Phelous's review of that one) them? Its stuff like that that make me appreciate "TMNT 3", as bad as the movie was, at least there's some fun to be had with that movie.

I had the blue line vhs as a kid but it was in Spanish. I wanted the one in English so bad, but was never able to get one. I do remember I got it at my local Food 4 Less.
