Hey Frank, I just wanted to let you know that you know that your video "you're probably wrong about 3-D printing" made me realize that this hobby is available to anyone and inspired me to get my first 3-D printer. My first printer the Ender 3 Max Neo came in a couple days ago and I'm absolutely loving it! keep up the the great work man and God Bless!
@@willraya1791 ended up going with the sovol svo6 for 359 AUD ive heard nearly only good stuff about it and at the moment creality has hit rock bottom machines have been dangerous etc only thing is it was a little small but eh good things come with bad things
I have the max neo 1 month also and never had one before, ... I'm not really impressed. Printing is slow Quality is so so. Support is quick to reply, but their speaking English as a second language is so so. It is ok... but has me contemplating something else.
@@graphguy You have to calibrate the system to have good print quailty. It's got a high quality hotend, etc. I also recommend upgrading the firmware or to investigate Klipper and Input shaping to go faster.
My first printer ever was a Cr-10 Pro V2 ,and I just want to say thank you. Because of you I was able to get it working well and I now own three of them 😂
For those who don’t know the difference between direct drive and Bowden. Bowden is an extender mounted away from the hot end and pushes filament through a Bowden tube. Direct drive is where the extruded is mounted right above the hot end. Bowden extenders can be faster due to less weight on the gantry, while direct drive extenders can print flexible materials. If you want speed, choose Bowden. If you want more materials, choose direct drive.
I picked up a Bambu Labs X1 Carbon w/AMS. I thought my Ender 3 S1 Pro was a workhorse but this thing changed my whole outlook on printing. Amazingly fast, precise, and easy to use. The only downside I can find is the price ($1500+)
I just bought the ender 3 max neo on Wednesday off of Amazon for $311 (sainsmart was doing a sale). And then frank come on the screen and says he thinks it’s the best printer Creality has put together! So excited hope I don’t get the lemon 🤞🏻.
Word of caution for anyone going for the Kobra max, have had to replace the self leveling sensor twice now within a year. Otherwise one of the best big printers that has good quality out of the box.
U helped me finally pic a 3d printer. I just ordered the Kobra Max. Fair warning, I'll have a ton of questions by Tuesday lol. Hope your Thanksgiving was awesome.
Cobra max it is. I was already leaning towards it for my organization and want/need to make my own desk organizers and stationary like paper trays and boxes all in one piece (MINI MILK CRATES GALORE). Thank you so much for breaking these all down for me. I was doing my best but I don't know enough about these as I probably should.
Great video! i've run 4 Neptune 3 printers though a few hundred hours each and especially if your running hot materials like PETG or ABS you will need a few upgrades like a bimetal heatbreak and better tubing, other then that its just been learning the quirks of the printers and i love printing with them. the only feedback i would say with the video is maybe have the metric volumes as text when you talk about size? i usually work exclusively in mm for simplicity.
I agree, pretty much everyone uses mm for print volumes. I find inches only really useful for very big prints but even then conversion is a pain and I suspect most people will be able to visualize the difference between a 100mm squared build area and a 1,000mm one.
Hey frank i just want to say DAMN you inspired me to do this cool stuff with 3d printing. Your iron man suit and builds are insane, and you’ve made me want to be like you but I’m gonna make a master chief suit. So thank u SOOO much bro🤙 also I choose creality enter 3max neo thanks🤙
Great vid as usual! I have a CR10 V2 and it's been amazing but I'm looking to upgrade since it's falling behind a bit. I've been considering the CR10 S Pro V2 thanks to you and that's probably the direction I'll be going. I got the Neptune 2s right before the Neptune 3 came out and was bummed about that lol but they're already making a 3 pro so I'll probably just wait for that to come out lol. Thank you so much for making these videos. With how flooded the 3d printing market is, your videos are super helpful and definitely help narrow down the options. Your skill, experience, and results speak for themselves and I've learned so much about the hobby just from your channel alone. Thanks again for all that you do and let me know if you ever come to a con in the Dallas/Fort Worth area!
Good to see you like the Neptune 3. I'm looking at the Neptune 3 Max when it comes out. I want to be able to print entire RC airplane wings in 1 shot so I need a 500mm Z axis and like the Neptune 3 Pro it is direct drive instead of Bowden tube like the Neptune 3.
I am looking at getting into 3D printing, and your reviews helped a lot. One question though, how's the customer support from these various manufactures. I've heard some horror stories that after support is reliably nonexistent.
You know what cheeses me off? Every printer still comes with NO INSULATION PAD!! Seriously 8 bucks, for a pack of two for and Ender 3 sized pad. You put it on the bottom of the bed and it helps keep the heat trapped to the bed. This has been a very helpful upgrade to both my Enders.
This helped thanks I went with the max neo and like yours, it did not work properly but I got it on Amazon so I just exchanged it the second one was perfect. Love your videos
We got the ender 5 pro last year. First one for us. Big learning for us. Now my daughter wants to try resin printer. So shoping time for one of them. Kids 🤣
This is exactly what I have been wanting to see. I just said to my husband that I want a 3d printer for Christmas and with Black Friday around the corner, now is the time 😊. I have been binge watching all videos reviewing 3d printers and just when I have my mind made up, someone mentions a different brand and piques my interest. I’m leaning towards the Neo, but then you had high pride for the sovol. Is the Neo worth the extra price? Thank you for your thorough reviews. Any Canadians out there have suggestions on where and what to purchase?
I love the Sovol SV01 Pro, it has everything you need and as you said Frank nothing you dont need and the price is awesome, I am in the market for a third Ender 5 Plus but have held off just incase Sovol do their thing with this model, maybe dual independent Z and a 32 bit board, direct drive and an all metal high temp hotend and belt tensioners, these are all upgrades I have added to my Ender 5 Plus machines.
Where did you get your Mando helmet file if I may ask? Also thank you for everything! I spent all night watching your Tik Toks and absorbing as much stuff, now I'm on your UA-cam to do the same, but alas I have spent lot of my time already and have to sleep ha. Thank you for teaching others instead of locking it away!
Ender 2 Pro is great out of the box and it's only $130 at microcenter, but it's not open source. I still recommend it as a beginner printer but not if you want upgrades.
I think the reason there are so many Ender 3 models is so Creality can flood the search results with their products. I tried searching up 3d printers, even from other brands, and it was just all Ender 3s.....
Here is one for you. What would you recommend if I wanted to print a rifle chassis? Is this something I would need to print in pieces> But the main part would still be larger.
Enjoyed the video. Curious, the SV01 went up to $309. Should we go ahead and go with the Ender-3 Max ($314) for the size and few dollars difference? Or is there something about the SV01 that makes it the better choice? I'm not sure I'll print anything larger than a mask.
I got the Ender 3 Max Neo. Spent hours setting it up, adjusting everything, managed to print the rabbit. Great print. Then it quit working. I’m returning it tomorrow. It’s left a bad taste in my mouth for 3D printing. So I’ll have to decide if I want to try a different brand, or if 3D printing just isn’t worth the hassle for me.
Hello Frank, I am currently in the market for a 3d printer and I stumbled upon the Anycubic Chiron and I need opinions lol. what are the peoples opinions?????????????????????????????????????
Personally, I would go with the S10 Pro V2, purely for its consistency and its proven nature. The Neo is fantastic for the money, but it's new and I'd like to see some more data on how it holds up in the long run.
I think crealities pretty smart when you look at big picture. They match almost every printer available for options with nothing extra to keep prices. It requires no extra stock since they all interchange pieces. They have probably 20 different models with only 2 main boards.
Thanks very much for your advice in this video 😃 I've been looking for a 3D filament printer for some upcoming projects, involving printing brackets for custom CNC devices to support a stop motion animation production😊
I would recommend the Anycubic Kobra Go as well. It’s my first 3d printer and considering its price point at $180 it’s a great deal for what you get with it.
Kobra Max is my favorite so far. Sovol SV 03 I wanted to be good. It isn't. I am basing my entire workshop around Anycubic machines. They have been the best in resin and FDM. Kobra Max is awesome. Ender3Pro still cranks out prints though. J.s.

This dude’s hand mannerisms remind me of a doctor actually. Very confident, strong, feels like he’s really adding to what he’s communicating by speaking with his hands like that.
I don't have this printer (yet) but I heard a lot from people that Kingroon KP3S is actually a good starter printer, especially if you don't plan to tinker with it or about to use it as one of the printer farm
Hi Frank, I just wanna thank you for your commitment to the 3d printing community. I am starting a printing business with some of my chooms and I appreciate your videos always being available for guidance. I am looking for a good fleet setup and wanted some ideas on which printers would run consistently. Any recommendations?
for cheap fast and reliable, go with an endor 5 plus amd add klipper to it, best printer farms imo, can make big stuff too and balso be reconfigured to do what ever materials you want to use with easy mods, 400 for the printer and then 160 for sonic pad or speed more and go crazy with klipper, you can budget with klipper too, there are other besides a pie that you can use that cost alot less. hope this helps out a fellow enthusiast 🙂
Hey Frank this is a great review but since I watched I was trying to find a CR-10S PRO V2 but there's no machine available anywhere in the world, Did you know if Creality will still manufacturing this model because it's been on the market since more than 2 years, If not you can share some other option on the same size/performance/price thanks
From one of your other videos, I bought the CR10S Pro v2. After 4 weeks, I’m starting to get good prints. What a challenge! Some things that stand out: the fans are noisy!, the manual sucks (missing critical details, very skimpy on set up), and if you get the upgraded bed plate, it’s smaller than the actual bed (have yet to find out what that screws up). I still have high hopes I’ll soon be able to print the objects that led me to buy the printer. Fingers crossed.
Hey Frank, I wanted a printer which can print long customised pipes . Sometimes I also want to print with metal. I have zero knowledge in these printers. Can you please suggest the best. Thank you.
im adding the sonic pad to my cr10s pro v2 :) looking forward to modding an endor 5 plus and making it hotter and faster with the sonic pad too that if i dont get a pie first.
been thinking of getting a new 3d printer to replace my old Luzbot Taz 5 for some time now (Had a print FAIL rate of about 75% in the years I've used it). Based on this video and searching other recommendations I came to the conclusion of getting a CR-10S Pro V2 3D Printer. Sadly they are not in stock anywhere. Which I find odd that Creality's own store sends you off their store to buy one. Ohh well. Guess I'm on a Amazon wait list now.
Got the Ender 3 V2 Neo and I love it for $230 (didn't know about the "Max"), what would your first improvements be for a stock Neo, the Sonic pad, Sprite Extruder, Spider hotend...simple thing like nozzles? How do you know what to upgrade? I bet lots of noobs have this very question, we hobby folks like to dive in head first, ya know?
Ok so I already commented but since that point, my sovol sv01 Pro just arrived today! My hubby looked out the window and said there was a big box outside…. I acted as if it was a box of toilet paper from Amazon and then snuck it to my craft room 🤣 Anywho I am the type of person who pulls their hair out with a regular paper printer. All technology tends to dislike me. So I was scared to assemble the printer. Honestly it was the easiest way thing I have ever assembled and then I did the bed leveling. I think I have done an ok job of it. I printed the calibration cube and even though I have no idea what I’m supposed to be looking for, I personally think the cube is perfect 😊. I’m making the benchie now….
I used to build my own PCs from the ground up but that was like 20 years ago and I'm too old and over the swearing and shouting so I went with a CR10S v2 Pro about 3 months ago... once I got the hang of what 3D printing was its been amazing so so so trust worthy and not a single swear or raised decibel .. well not one that wasn't down to my own stupidity anyways !!!
I was hoping you'd say something about the Creality Ender 5 Plus . Based on some of your older videos I was considering getting it because I need a larger printer that can deal with helmets and armours that I wouldn't have to print in 36 pieces , but now you're making me hesitate again 😂
@@FranklyBuilt Which whould you choose if both had klipper on them ? im curious to what you prefer, i love both so much 😅 and would be a coin toss for me because the v2 is so dang easy but like the motion system on the endor 5 plus better 😅
I got the ender 3 pro for 99$ from microcenter a few months back and now I that know more about 3d printing I wish I would have gone with something else, but I do still enjoy the ender 3 and might get something a little bigger soon
Was going to get a Ender 3 Pro because that's what everyone said to get but I think im gonna get to SV01 Pro for christmas instead, thanks for the insight frank
But i love hondas... Also ouch i wish i watched this before i bought my ender 3 v2, but then again it works great i love it - building my first mando helmet - will make mando shortfilm 😎
About to buy my first 3D printer. I really like the Flsun V400. For the close to $1,000 price tag would you go with that one or another in that price range?
Direct drive and Bowden pretty much the same thing? Not really...Though for most people it won't matter which you get. However if you are going to be doing thin wall printing, direct drive is the best way to go.
Welp. Indecision cured. I've definitely figured out definitively that the exact purchase I'm going to be making is without a doubt one of the available 3D printers on the current and/or future market.
i have had a FLsun sr for 4 months and was amazing until out of nowhere its stringing like mad, changed all sorts of the settings countless times, cleaned nozzle and more with no luck.
I just bought a Anycubic Chiron, and was wanting your opinion on it. I bought it for the print space I want to make some big items. I hope it's a good printer. Your thoughts on it would be appreciated. Great channel too.

Hey Frank, I wanted a printer which can print long customised pipes . Sometimes I also want to print with metal. I have zero knowledge in these printers. Can you please suggest the best. Thank you.
im adding the sonic pad to my cr10s pro v2 :) looking forward to modding an endor 5 plus and making it hotter and faster with the sonic pad too that if i dont get a pie first.
elegoo has the new neptune 3 pro available. just another awesome printer with lots of good upgrades and features.
been thinking of getting a new 3d printer to replace my old Luzbot Taz 5 for some time now (Had a print FAIL rate of about 75% in the years I've used it).
I acted as if it was a box of toilet paper from Amazon and then snuck it to my craft room 🤣
Anywho I am the type of person who pulls their hair out with a regular paper printer.
I would do the pro v2
@@FranklyBuilt Which whould you choose if both had klipper on them ? im curious to what you prefer, i love both so much 😅 and would be a coin toss for me because the v2 is so dang easy but like the motion system on the endor 5 plus better 😅
I was thinking of getting a 3d printer, however my main concern is the toxic fumes that come with it, any advice?
There are none, except for resin printers
thanks for this vid. you're right about creality. i am trying to pick a printer and it's just so confusing what they're doing.
Direct drive has some advantages, especially when doing flexible and specialized filaments.
What's the most cost-effective LARGE format 3d printer? $4000 or under with a large build area? Thanks.
But i love hondas...
Also ouch i wish i watched this before i bought my ender 3 v2, but then again it works great i love it - building my first mando helmet - will make mando shortfilm 😎
of course... i wanted to buy the CR-10S PRO V2 but they dont ship to my state...
You talked about creating these helmets and armor, but can you actually put them on or you just create them and display them like a big doll?
Yeah I can wear both of my iron man suits and all my helmets
I got the Ender 3 V2 for $200 at Microcenter, it’s been great!
