Another good thing to bring is a first aid kit! You don't have to have much in it, but at least have some bandaids, including the really big ones, just in case you scrape your elbow and start bleeding everywhere and have to tape a pad to your arm and then walk to CVS at midnight (not that I'm speaking from experience...). Also, some schools have strict rules on the wattage of appliances you're allowed to bring, so look out for that. I wasn't able to find any kettles under the limit, so what I did instead was I brought a glass measuring cup that I could stick in the microwave and heat up water for ramen and tea and stuff. And then for hanging stuff on walls, I love mounting putty (aka poster putty) for hanging up photos and posters and stuff. Whatever you do, don't hang stuff up with tape, that will take the paint off.
I’m going into my sophomore yr of university and I don’t even live on campus and I still watch these videos every year, they’re just so fun and informative
I literally JUST watched your old one of these yesterday! thank you so much for making another one! putting together everything for my dorm as we speak
I’m going to be a junior this upcoming semester! I’ll be living in an apartment (but their on campus ones, so they’re still very dorm-like) This video is still very helpful! Also the bedside thing is called a bedside caddy :)
Don't sweat it. Just get what you can. It's impossible to have 100% what you need, and you won't know until you get there. Take a deep breath. You got this!
Its been a while since I have lived on campus, after a bit of a break from college. This is so helpful though as this fall I am planning to transfer to CSUMB
Don’t bring tide pods! They are easier but a lot of college washers are old and or over used and won’t full break the pod it will ruin your clothes. Where I went to school all the washers said don’t use tide pods
I'm going to be 17 in the winter and starting my freshman year around the same time, so this helps me a lot! Do you have any advice going into college?
Ngl a lot of the products too expensive on that website. A lot of things on there are priced higher then the store bought items where I live soooo I think I’ll hold off with most of this stuff. That’s just me though😅
Hey besties, I'm here to ACTUALLY tell you what you need. What you don't need: 1. You do NOT need curtains. 2. You do NOT need a mattress topper or pad, the beds are fine certain people are just materialistic. 3. You do NOT need a hatch alarm clock it is so overrated. Buy a cheap speak and a night light thing and you can use that and it's the same thing and CHEAPER and not as overrated. Or Echo has a Hatch dupe.. SAVE YOUR MONEY. 4. You do NOT need a steamer just use the shower 5. You do NOT need a shower caddy if you live in a suite. Because they CLEAN THEM EVERY WEEK DUH ?! 6. You don't need sunscreen unless you live in a warm state 7. You do NOT need a brita because it will NOT fit in your fridge unless you like warm water. 8. Do not get a infuser unless you consult with your roommate first
I disagree with the mattress topper/pad and sun screen part. If you have back issues/problems and the mattress is too soft, it will make your back hurt [I know from experience] so having a firm mattress topper is needed and visa verse for people who like softer mattress. Sun screen isn't just for people who live in warmer/hotter states. Regardless on where you live, you can developed sun burn or even worse like skin cancer if you in the sun for too long. If you are afraid of the sun screen expiring for you get the chance to use it, having a sun umbrella is helpful too.
@@GHOSTDRIVEher whole list was just horrible “advice”. Sunscreen is a necessity and saying people who say to get a mattress topper are “materialistic” is ridiculous.
Do NOT listen to this comment, bring a mattress topper, sunscreen, and please bring a shower caddy unless u r in an apartment/suite style dorm. Trust me.
@@haleycronin8365 if you live in a cold state you don’t need sunscreen and you really don’t need a caddy unless you aren’t in a suite ❤️ I know what I’m talking about thank you ❤️
@@haleycronin8365 are you missing the part where I said unless you don’t live in a suite or that you don’t really need sunscreen unless you live in a warm state? Bffr. And you can survive without a mattress topper

yessss first aid kit!!!! also yes ik a lot of dorms say no electric kettles i forgot😭
Upcoming freshman here. This was very informative; I appreciate this.
If youre able to keep a plant they purify air naturally, takes away the need for a machine and adds some nature inside your room :)

Some colleges don't allow mini fridges or heaters. Make sure to check the dorm rules BEFORE you start shopping.
watching these even though i’m YEARS away from needing them 😭
I'm starting in a bit more than a month, this video is so helpful!
Literally stressing so much I move in less than a month and haven’t gotten anything😭

I’m going to college in the fall and this is so helpful! I’ll definitely be referring back to this in the summer when I start buying stuff :)
yessss audrey i needed this from you!!
senior in hs and i am stressed 😭😭 thanks for this though ❤

I'm going to university soon i think this will help
Don’t bring tide pods! They are easier but a lot of college washers are old and or over used and won’t full break the pod it will ruin your clothes. Where I went to school all the washers said don’t use tide pods
Heating pad!
Hi Audrey happy Friday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Thanks Audrey!!!! super helpful!!!!
At first I was confused 😭when you said two small towels ! I was like sis….
ive heard stuff about tidepods not dissolving fully in some college machine washers so I'd be careful with that
yes this sometimes happens but if you put the tide pod in first i’ve found that helps
please post an apartment packing list!! i’m a sophomore moving into an apartment :)
I'm going to be 17 in the winter and starting my freshman year around the same time, so this helps me a lot! Do you have any advice going into college?
literally just made the biggest list of things because of this 😂
I'm going to finish school first then college
i dont recommend buying chip clips, a clothes peg does the exact same thing without you having to spend more money
i’m moving into college in a month im so not ready😭😭
living in the sorority house this year and would love to have a packing list for that?!
Very aesthetic.
im about to be a senior too!!
Congrats on senior year
Where’s your top from!
You look just like Leighton Meester!!
Where is your green cardigan from? Omg
i have a question !!! Im going to college this fall n i wanted to know if when we pay for dorms is it for the full year, or jus for the semester??
I think it depends on the college but usually for the year!
it depends but they’ll usually make it pretty clear which one it is!
Ngl a lot of the products too expensive on that website. A lot of things on there are priced higher then the store bought items where I live soooo I think I’ll hold off with most of this stuff. That’s just me though😅
i linked multiple options depending where you like to shop!
