Ironically I own the cloud alphas and the wired cloud core and the original stingers and for whatever reason positional awareness on FPS games on the new stinger 2 is leaps and bounds better than my other hyper x headsets. I tested the stinger 2 for a few weeks and went back to my other hyper x headsets and it was night and day. That’s the beauty of headsets! You just never know what fits for what player!

Thanks Rodrigo! I will consider it for sure! It can be challenging to maintain but I don't think that's a bad idea. I typically haven't used additional playlists beyond my primary review categories but if I can put a few extras towards the bottom, I will see what can be done. Appreciate the support!

A guy from reddit suggested I watch this video and thank goodness that happened because I was looking to hear what that microphone sounds like!
I've got a pair of those expensive Sony headphones that all recording studios use (I'm a musician) but they of course don't have a built in mic so I've been trying to figure out what cheaper headset to buy that sounds alright for casual use and that has a decent mic. Do these self monitor by any chance so you can hear the microphone output in your ears while talking?
Had the original stinger and the mic was garbage... Had it boosted in windows so I don't have to shout to be heard. Also, the volume knob started to screw with the audio balance. Got the msi gh61 based on your recommendation and so far I am liking it a lot.

Hi HTS! Thanks. I think it can be subjective, but I do like the sound on the Stinger 2 more than the 1. I would prefer the newer ones.

Thanks! So my headphone measuring rig actually has a simulated ear pinna in addition to calibrated mics. Because these headphones have such a shallow ear cup, the pinna gets crushed/distorted, which will affect the measurement and make it inaccurate. I will provide you a link here to view, but please note that this does not accurately represent what the headset actually sounds like, so take it with a grain of salt. I try to maintain ethical coverage and not mislead viewers or "lie" and take the easy way out. Hopefully this makes sense! On a side note - I am purchasing parts to make a much more expensive and accurate measurement rig, with custom pinna. This will allow me to more closely represent GRAS 43AG measurements which is a $10k measuring rig that I can't really justify buying right now. imgur.com/a88UOS9

Most say they are very comfortable but then some comment about shallow cushions. I have old Steelseries Siberia V2 which have too soft and shallow cushions and no problem. I wonder where all the whining about stingers cushions comes from...
Budget headset that has the best raw mic quality?
I just wish that hyperx started adding Bluetooth to their headsets. They just aren't a best buy anymore since they're not as versatile as something like the barracuda and nova 7.
The mic quality will be bad if it’s bluetooth thats why most gaming headphones with microphones doesn’t support bluetooth
@@v3nnyx it would be worse only if you use it in Bluetooth mode. And that's irrelevant if it would be worse either way.
just bought these. Had the cloud alphas for 5 years and they finally broke. Didnt want to spend 100$ on a headset again, esp just for cs go and youtube. Looked these up - 40$ at bestbuy. 10$ for the two year protection. love them. They are as comfortable, if not better than the alphas. I dont even feel them on my head. I have longer, curly hair and it doesnt get caught in it. the mic sounds great - better than the Mod mic that I was using. great value imo.

The build quality is more plastic than the original stingers but the comfort and sound are definitely improved and I love the new design

You still don't get the answer? I was also looking for this.
I think the only differences are 50mm drivers with cloud stinger 2 vs 40mm drivers with stinger 2 core, and stinger 2 is bit cost more than stinger 2 core.

consider sound dampening that room for your video reasons if nothing else so the audio is not picking up all the echo and reflective sound

This headset is trash never buy this I plugged it in it doesn't even get recognized in my audio devices 2 I can't even use the microphone on discord 3 the sound while playing games and movies is so shity and low quality
