Looks nothing like I remember it. It looks very gentrified (Yuck!). I’ve heard a lot of people say NYC culture is dead. Watching this from one of my old neighborhoods, breaks my heart. Why didn’t you show anything about the old Polish neighborhood?
As someone who has lived, worked, hung out and grew up in Greenpoint, it kinda annoys me how all these hipsters think they know it all. All they know is the tiny aspect of their lives since they moved here. The REAL Greenpointers know better!
Damn. You had the boomdocks area of Greenpoint. You forgot Kent Avenue, which has been rejuvenated. McCarren Park, one of the biggest in the city. You showed Peter Pan [which has the best donuts and Moe's which awesome!!] But, what happened to the rest of Manhattan Ave. While Greenpoint has become more and more gentrified, there is large Polish community [ Little Poland ]. You forgot all of the Polish restaurants, bakeries, and meat markets.
Great tour guide. I lived their for 16years of my childhood with my family from 1985 till 2003. We're Spanish and loved the area. Haven't been back in afew years. Glad it's not dangerous anymore. I get to wear my bling jewelry outside with no worries but always prepared just in case. Great work and take care.
Left there thirty years ago. The area was changing even than. I grew up on Withers St I was married in St Cecilia Church over on North Henry St. Than lived on Metropolitan Ave by Olive St. A different area today, than it was thirty years ago.
Love the greenpoint area. I had my very first apartment there and cherished every minute I was there. Lately I have to be honest it has gotten a little to carried away with all the gentrification happening around there. I considered moving back but the last time I went by I was so disappointed. I lived on calyer and franklin street. To many bars an clubs. It is loosing it's great atmosphere it once had. Just my opinion.
What a shame. This was my neighborhood growing up and I moved further down to south Brooklyn almost 15 years ago. Greenpoint is where I was born and raised and this isn’t Greenpoint now. It’s disgusting what they did to it. Making it practically unaffordable for the average working person.
Dude comes into a Polish neighborhood and mentions nothing about that culture and food.. Next up Spanish Harlem and a in-depth look at all the great Asian restaurants and culture there. Followed by a guide to fine Italian dining in Chinatown.

Most people dont care about us Polish, just as well.
Gee, Greenpoint looks like an ideal place to eat tacos and drink coffee.
Say, know any neighborhoods where I could find artists or Polish culture?

Stupid stuff keeps happening around McGolrick Park so Greenpoint isn't really safe.

These people drove everyone out and ruined the neighborhood
What happened to the black people?
Good question
greenpoint is polish and before that was irish. closest thing to black would be the few puerto ricans living near the newton creek on franklin street.
There never really was a large black population there. It is (was) mostly Polish
