I lived on Ditmas Avenue with my Mom and Dad until 1991. Moved to Chicago to study, met my future wife, then emigrated to Australia in 2000. Great childhood there. Every time I’ve been back though, it seems to have lost a bit of its community spirit and togetherness.
Grew up in Flatbush. Will forever be a Flatbush dude no matter where I'm at. But this place changed a lot. That lil Nut stand on Tilden been there for years .. shout out to all my Flatbush peeps. Labor day here we come
I def see the gentrification . Sidewalk cafe on Flatbush is just unreal. Dunno what day of the week of time of day but it's nice and quiet and clean. I used to live on Clarkson, Parkside train station used to be crazy out front.
❤❤❤ it’s nice to see my Neighborhood Flatbush on here it’s so crazy to see how much the area has changed over the years I pray 🙏 that it continues to grow for the better without no crime and just have peace ✌🏽 and love ❤️ around the world 🌍.
I teared up when I saw the building I grew up in 441 Ocean Avenue I moved there in 1973 I even saw the window I used to look out from, Wow brought back memories ❤
Big up to Flatbush move there in the late 70s to1993 - when Woolworth was across the street from Macy's at that corner of Tilden Avenue where Burlington at right now. Let's not forget about the Kenmore movie theater where target at - between 21st and Flatbush .I will always call Flatbush my home because I got unforgettable memories there. One love to my home.
57:40 This is near my old hood! Used to live right around the corner from there on 3rd and Albemarle Road. I frequented that Suzi's Roti Parlor spot and Rocky's Pizzeria pretty often when I lived near there. I need to take a walk through there sometime soon.
THANKS FOR GOING TO FLATBUSH I WENT TO SCHOOL AT ERASMUS BACK IN THE LATE 80S EARLY 90S; FLATBUSH AVE HAD CHANGE SO MUCH THERE USE TO BE SO MANY CLOTHING AND SNEAKER STORES BACK THEN.
My old stomping grounds. You went past my high school at 6:25, Erasmus Hall High School. NBA great Billy Cunningham went there. Graduated from there in '73. My how that area has changed, much more development in the buildings. Thanks for the upload, brings back memories.
Nunca estive em NY....mas sei que um dia irei , olhando esse vídeo dá á nitida impressão de você estar passeando pelas ruas e avenida de new york , essa cidade jamais perde o seu charme....e trás lembranças de muitos filmes rodados por aí !
Hello Julien, my name is Frank and I come from Munich, Germany. I really like the videos. I will definitely never be able to get to New York in this lifetime. Your videos give a nice impression. Best wishes, Frank
The Caribbean accents, the food, the culture with the infringement of gentrification close to Prospect Park. I hope Flatbush remains a place for the people who have been there and remains affordable ❤
Ahhh! it is great to see the NAME Flatbush, even if I don't see anything familiar. (My Aunt lived by Kings Plaza, in the letter streets BUT NOT alphabet city - the more Jewish family part, at least in the bottom of the last century.)
saya pelajari dan lihat2 tempat ini "Brooklyn" this video help me to know what is brooklyn, i wish i could go there to see my soulmate maybe hahaha, saya punya kenalan org sana he is from Brooklyn tp sayangnya dia masih bersembunyi haizzzz... by the way maybe someday if he is ready to meet me , i will go there ..... wis me ya all....
You really captured Flatbush for real. Most dont know, right across the train tracks is a whole new world for the Yt ppl and more affluent. And the alphabet roads and houses are named after and originally slave owners (look it up)
You obviously know nothing about the area, or NYC for that matter... Save your self serving criticism of what you clearly are ignorant of. Stay in your depressed lane.

Brings back many memories. Some things have changed but it's still Flatbush till the end.

Awesome Flatbush walking tour, my ❤ Brooklyn! Merci beacoup Julien, bon fin de la semaine! 🗽🍎
I love it .
That corner Flatbush Ave with Buckingham Rd seemed like a teleporting door🪄
I was just thinking the same thing. Like Dorothy opening the door, and there's Oz. Weird.
Awesome video!!

Up north more. Like 5-10 minutes drive from Ocean and Church Ave (40 minute mark)

It seems like you following people. Little weird
Do you follow people when you walk on the street ?
Got jumped on ocean avenue, i hate Flatbush. Stay away. X
Even on a sunny day this area looks bad. Depression and hopelessness.
You obviously know nothing about the area, or NYC for that matter... Save your self serving criticism of what you clearly are ignorant of. Stay in your depressed lane.
το βίντεο είναι καλό το περιβάλλον μαύρο χάλι 😮
Good, stay in Greece then. NYC and its people are beautiful.
Please don't ever come to NY. You're not welcome.
Disgusting thing to say smh 😮
