Aston needs to go back to the stow away system and or add touch functionality, a bit like Bentley does, it's just so much better to have a clean timeless design in the long run. Floating fixed panels ruin it for me tbh.
@@aerorobnz Yup screens and user interfaces are about the most rapidly self-outdating aspect of modern cars. Love these kind of mods. Really cool that there are companies that put in the effort and develop systems for cars where you can't just swap in a DIN or double DIN system.
Q: How do you like driving your Aston? James: After initiating the AI upgrade, it quite literally changed the use-case proposition following the installation of Apple CarPlay.

Cant relate with the feeling in the DBS but i can relate to the feeling of a nice looking and behaving infotainment system. Wasnt happy with the touchscreen interfaces of almost every manufacturer (unresponsive, bad UI design, bad resolution screens) until I got my Model 3. This just feels like an iPad and not like an 2000s TomTom satnav.

Yeah got rid of a massive pain there mate personally my favourite Aston in the Casino Royale colour in any colour but that for me is just perfect can't wait to see more with it 👍
I just got the new Porsche PCCM+ system in my 2002 911 Turbo 996 and holy sh!t it's an entirely different car, absolutely love it and couldn't recommend more highly!
Honestly, at this point it would be quite incredible to see an entire dash swap to update the whole center console area. Not to change the design itself, but to freshen it up by removing some oldschool buttons and pieces that aren't required anymore, while doing a truly bespoke screen installation - perhaps even with a wider choise of materials instead of only the piano gloss. I'd love to work on the design for such a niche project.
I agree, I've never really liked the waterfall design centre consoles on modern Astons. Rather see a cool setup like a Ferrari Daytona or even the older V8 Vantage from the mid '80s. Outside they have lines of a fighter jet, you gotta have the cockpit syle dashboard to go with it I reckon. And a better fucking gear shift knob....that one is butt ugly.
@@GM-fh5jp There are definitely a lot of options, most importantly is to match the timeless styling of the exterior, because that simply never gets old. What I do appreciate is the incorporation of various materials that have value in their character and life they bring to the interior. Lightly processed metals, natural wood with good vein contrasts, and most importantly - details that match their complexity to the material they're made from. Metal details that are intricate and have precision finish - leather wrapped in simple but decisive volumes, etc. They would need to strike a balance between what is contemporarily possible to manufacture, mixed with what is in essence an attempt at ageless beauty. Shapes and components that aren't locked to any specific time period or manufacturing process - or what is in to have in a car right now. I would personally compare it with the cockpit of a high end commercial jet. Something that is clearly pilot (driver) focused, but also has enough space and openness to offer that slight lounge-like feel that is important in a grand tourer. You as a pilot are important, but so is your co-pilot (passenger). It is made for two, and should not compromise here. I would look into ways that the passenger could even have increased space around them, to really invite the aspect of taking someone else along on your trips, even if it's mostly a solo drive on daily basis.
