Man, I loved Dave's NBC years. I often stayed up late to watch the show and would frequently miss school the next day because I was too tired to get out of bed. So, I would spend the day playing video games. Great times.

At 3:10, I love when he does his interpretation of Johnny Carson's CARNAC along side Paul's Ed Immitation.I get a kick out of them paying ourmidge to Johnny and Ed.

The two horn players at the beginning eventually joined the band, right? At CBS?

Yes: saxophonist Bruce Kapler and trombonist (and 4,000 other instruments) Tom Malone replaced Bernie Worrell in November 1993, and trumpeter Alan Chesnowitz (Chez) joined the band in February 1997.

Don Giller when you can replace Bernie Worrell... you’re doing OK 👌

Could anyone tell me the name of the song that the band plays to end the segment? I recognize it from it being associated with Jerry Seinfeld’s appearances.

Kinda weird to see Paul sitting next to Dave at the desk (3:08)......would be fascinating to know how many total times that happened !!
Any Late Night/Late Show "Super Fans" out there who, even if you don't know the EXACT answer to that question, might have SOME idea how many times Mr. Shaffer ended up sitting next to Dave at his desk ??

I could compile that, but, honestly, very low priority.

      HA !! ABSOLUTELY NOT.....but thanks for "offering" !! ;-D
However, I've GOT to believe there's a big time superfan out there SOMEWHERE who, even if they couldn't put an EXACT number on it, would at least be able to get us inside the ballpark with a close estimate !!
Thanks again, for ALL this AMAZING stuff !!
