Fireflyyyy..I love youuuu...Every single piece of lore I get about you just continues to break my heart 😭🤍 These animated shorts are SOOooo well done and are like little pockets of happy slice of life moments pocket sized angst episodes, goodness.
Mhm and a little lore on the Stellaron Hunters, they're all capable of destroying planets just like Firefly did in her trailer, its not really explained how Blade and Kafka can, but Silver Wolf has the ability to manipulate reality itself haha
I heard a couple of different reasons. One of them was a lot of people apparently didn’t like the SAM reveal Another one was that her story didn’t feel “developed and/or felt forced” All the reasons I’ve heard don’t hold up in the greater picture as a reason to dislike her so intensely. I’ve only gotten up to Penacony & I fell in love with her soooo hard
Her role in the story did feel a bit rushed, although I imagine a lot of that has to do with the fact that apparently a lot of the Penacony arc had to be rewritten pretty last minute (or so I've heard.) I mean compared to someone like Aventurine, the game didn't give us much of her backstory. I initially didn't care for her too much, but watching her trailers improved my impression of her A LOT. She still isn't my favorite, but she's at least top 10.
for me it seems most people forgot that Firefly already knew us and was just acting. So it’s not weird that she was so trusting to TB. Also her deeper background is not really needed for the Penacony story in comparison like Aventurine who we knew really nothing about
From my understanding Dan Feng wasn't a bad person. He was just trying to save a friend but messed with dangerous and forbidden things to do so and it spiraled out of his control. Great reactions! I like how lively and committed you are.
Eh, I think that kind of thing happens to Black Swan regularly. When you're the one intruding into a mind without explicit permission, you don't really get to call self-defense: it's all part of the game. Neither seemed to bothered by it afterwards. (And I'm still dubious that Ever-Flame Mansion just fell apart the way we're told it did. Even granting that Acheron does happen to be equipped to actually kill Duke Inferno, we've outright seen him run from a fight he couldn't win as soon as he wasn't serving as a role model. And if he really was willing to stand and die, it makes no sense all his "children" would then all simply scatter and disappear even if their original plan to enter Penacony was now void. And the thing about Acheron - or really, any analogue of her - is that it would never even occur to her to deny she killed somebody regardless of the facts or her memory of them.)
A thing to keep in mind for that short, Acheron had no idea she was doing that to her. She was just dancing with pretty woman while Black Swan essentially dove into a black hole?
@crimsonskies391 I just checked, they both have voice lines upon being added about dancing. Acheron asks if she's up to another and Black Swan says that Acheron can choose what dance they do this time.
Ah, Firefly. The character I relate to most as a disabled military veteran. Although, she is much more positive than I am, haha. That's part of why I like her though.
Ah yes, black swan and acheron. A bi woman who doesn't exist* (probably) and a sentient black hole who shouldn't be perceived and is fairly quickly forgotten by anyone who does - unless they dangerously risk their sanity to try and remember her. What a match. Black swan has moved on to safer romances. Acheron scared the shit out of her.
I’m not sure if you caught my comment calling them a “doomed yuri”. And in case you did but don’t know what it means… From Urban Dictionary: Doomed yuri is basically yuri, but instead these two females never really had a chance with each other. It is often portrayed as tragic and destined to fail. They’re definitely being portrayed as potential romantic partners in that short - but that doesn’t mean it’s a good one or one that will actually happen (I also am not caught up to know what Black Swan is up to yet).
@@vidianott Yes, I was aware of the trope. The comment about it did come after I had typed up what I did though. I hope my own message didn't come off as negative or sarcastic, I was just trying to put my own spin on the situations given what the characters "are" - literally or metaphorically. Black swan as a memokeeper has foregone physical existence - if she ever existed at all - to become a timeless memetic being that usually manifests out of memoria. Acheron is a whole other deal that I'm sure you're aware of but I'll avoid potentially spoiling anyone on here, suffice to say that she shouldn't/cant be percieved and is often quickly forgotten by others. It does even potentially play into a "doomed yuri" theme, with one character who serves a cosmic entity of trying to know/remember everything, and another that is doomed to be forgotten.

She's literally gives back as much as she takes, Jade's whole theme is fair and equivalent exchange, whatever is the commodity or the price for it, so her bad actions are certainly balanced by good deeds. Furthermore, the name of her signature Light Cone straight up says she gives away even more than she takes; "Someone who brings hope" - "Yet Hope Is *Priceless*"
@cherrycrumpets5716 ok let's put things into a scale : - She's one of the higher ups of an organisation that enslaves planets. - She has the power to sparkle temptation and desire (you know, like the "morally gray" tempting snake in the bible, directly referenced on her splash art) with her stone (cf. Topaz 2.3) - She can then grant the desire in exchange for a price (the LC can say whatever it wants, the price isn't "equivalent", that's the whole monkey paw point and also what she explains in 2.3 => the point of the price is to be too high so that they come back to try to regain what they lost, that's the whirlpool she's talking about) => so we have a planet enslaver that uses her stone to tempt people into unfair deals trapping them in a whirlpool where they lose everything they have at the end to her. - On the other side : she helps children in orphanages. Jade is a complex character that has her reasons and I really like her for that, but I'm getting sick of people trying to paint her as "Not that bad" or "morally grey" (feel like I'm seeing Raiden simps all over again). No she can have her reasons but the end doesn't justify the means (that was the whole point of Sundays arc in Penacony) and at the end she causses more harm than good. You not wanting to call her evil is a decision based on your morality and what you find acceptable, but at this point and time we have no evidence to back up the fact that she's good or morally grey.
@@puck9222 Pure evil is when the character does evil solely for the sake of it. The fact of doing good (i.e. funding and opening orphanages at least, as there might be more good deeds she's doing) rules Jade out of 'pure evil' by definition. - Honestly, I don't see how allegiance is relevant much, because we'd go down in an endless hole as there's no faction that never did wrong or morally questionable things. Aventurine, whose plan was directly aimed at getting Penacony back in IPC, the "planetary enslavers", sphere of influence, is a higher-up there too; so is Topaz and Dr. Ratio, who developed space-to-surface weapons of mass-destruction for IPC; you can stretch is as far as to include the Intelligentsia Guild, since they designed and adapted Howling Casket AFV for mass production and deployment, or Genius Society if Ruan Mei and Calderon Chadwick, who are considered "tame" by GS standards, are anything to go by. Hell, the whole Xianzhou can be called fanatical exterminators that leave no place for negotiation if Abundance is involved. God forbid your world has what they might consider a plaguemark - either expect a Cloud Knight expeditionary force or Master Diviner Fu Xuan directing a Lux Arrow strike just like she did during the Third Abundance War. - She might have the power to sparkle temptation and desire, but she's not the one to plant them because those are a part of human nature. And she's certainly not the one to make someone act upon it, as showcased by Firefly. In the end, the final decision to strike a deal or not is purely on the person visiting her pawnshop, she merely makes offers, not forces to accept. - Again, the decision to come back and try to buy out what you lost is solely on her visitor. If they didn't learn the first time that the deals aren't in their favor and come back like a gambler to a casino where the house always wins, then they are, well, stupid. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Nonetheless, I never called her good, just was stating why it's fitting to call her morally grey; because opening and supporting orphanages is, in fact, an evidence to back up that Jade is capable of doing good actions just like she's capable of doing bad ones.

I honestly love the Firefly's shorts, this one and the one where you see how she gets her headband. Firefly is a mainstay on any of my teams comps
She only deserves happiness 😭 I was so shook seeing that she didn't just "win" the war... she did so much more than that
Who’s gonna tell Vidia that star rail, and ZZZ, love to drop sad backstories then destroy fans with the monkey’s paw just like Goddess of Victory?
