Love the tour truck tuesdays! I always learn something as a newer fitter but more importantly, I learn better ways to explain it to my clients. It’s like I’m going through Trottie university 😂 always love learning
I was struggling with consistent misses left. Went 1 deg flat, and also ended up with stiffer and heavier shafts for my P790s (TT dynamic gold, s300) - amazing difference + a confidence booster. I also took a half inch off the long irons, and landed on MMT 105 shafts for them (3, 4, 5).
This helped. I’m a scratch golfer who has been fighting the pull n pull hook. But when ball is above my feet I hit my best shots. So going to take irons in p 7mc in and get bent flat. Thanx
If you tend to hit most iron shots towards the toe is that a sign that your irons need to be longer or fix with lie angle? One caveat, I tend to come over the top. Thanks! Joe
Would lie angle affect the impact location on the face? Heel biased strikes but centered was curious if this would be an adjustment to look at or if shaft strength would impact more. Nice 🐯twirl at the end
My niece who plays high school golf was fitted at club champion. She's looking at the Taylor Made women's Stealth golf clubs. Her fitting data goes from 59 degree lie angle on a 6 iron to 61 degrees on a PW. Because of the cost of the clubs and shafts recommended at Club Champion, we are looking at the "off the shelf" women's set. I understand that those forged heads cannot be bent (or won't stay bent). She's 5 foot one inch. Any input about her getting the standard women's set appreciated.
Kind of counter productive to get fit and then not buy clubs that are to the specs. What you could do is look on eBay for a used set of an older generation club built to the same specs. Otherwise you’re setting up your niece up for failure compared to her peers
@@JLeeGolf that is my dilemma. Chatting with Taylor Made, they don't offer the same shaft (although might get one similar). We can order the heads bent to recommended lies. The kid is a decent HS golfer but no chance of college golf the 1st two years because she'll go to a CC without a golf team So, when I weigh the cost vs off the rack, difficult to spend that kind of money.
I struggle coming over the top, to the point I toe almost every shot… when it’s swing mechanics that need fixed do I start there??? Or do I say the hell with it and get fitting for my 💩💩 swing??
A lot of it starts with a poor setup and backswing. Check out Porzak Golf here on UA-cam, dude breaks it down in a way that’s easy to understand. My swing improved massively after working on what he points out. Took a lot of work for sure, but was worth.
If you don’t need the extra distance and height you’ll get from the P770 through your whole set then don’t overlook the P7MC. I’m a 7 hcp and a pretty decent iron player and I went with P7MC 6-P and P770 for a little more forgiveness in the 4 & 5. Had to adjust lofts on both irons for proper gapping. P7MC is more forgiving than it’s given credit for and one of the best feeling and best looking forged players cavity backs on the market.
it would be great to see the correlation between length and lie angle. like you I am 5'7" tall with a 66" wing span. Years ago I hit some clubs and 1/2 inch over standard and flatter. Seemed to rip them. Not one fitter in the area thought it was a good idea. Based on "standards" I should also be 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter than standard. What would be some of the pros and cons to these different fittings.
I’d Look more at your set up & what level of golfer you are. Good players I allow more influence on final suggested spec, average golfer & I’d prolly Vito the +1”
@@trottiegolf A few years ago I was an 8, but because I was tired of shooting 73 I have been working to get rid of my early extension and a 2 way miss. So I would say a 12 trending down again. I love looking at the technical side of things.

@@trottiegolf Thanks for the feedback. I dont think I need to go longer it was just an interesting thought to gain a little yardage. I know some smaller pros have done this. Trottie if my face is usually 3 degrees open to my path. If i went a little more upright with my lie angle, all being equal would my face angle move closer to my path? Cheers
Ummmmmm no I don’t think so. You’d be trying to correct a technique issue there with club set up…. Which I don’t hate but I’d prefer to see you work on tech. Very interesting how just 1degree makes a difference from left and right 🏌😊👍well done Chris 👏

The flatter you can handle the better. Just ask the great ball strikers over the history of the game. Hogan was 6° flat
