Same. But some it seems like people let so many small things, and a couple bigger things get in there way until they get to the point where it's more work to stay together than to be apart and they're focusing on everything else but each other.
MisterCool I believe so because I dropped the show after this and only tuned in for the GMW triangle ending which cemented my hate. I'm sure these two factors divided the viewership and fanbases.
I don't get this entire episode if you need to ask your first love whether or not you should have children with your husband because he's the only one that knows you and that only one you can trust WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU? YOU'RE WITH THE WRONG PERSON. Clearly Shawn and Angela belong together!
Just because you love someone doesn't mean you can't connect with another person in a special way. Shawn and Angela had a similar upbringing. I would surmise that Angela's husband did not. As this is related to having kids and her feeling like she wouldn't be a good mother, she seeked out someone in a very similar situation that she could TRUST. You are forgetting that they were ALL friends in BMW. No matter relationships or anything, a friend is someone you can turn to. BMW showed both sides of the spectrum. Cory and Topanga got together and stayed together as first loves, while Shawn and Angela didn't make it together. It shows that you can love again and that the first love can teach you lessons to prepare for the future.

The fact that Shawn and friends didn't know she was married was an indicator that they never stayed in touch and thus making her almost like a complete stranger. The show did not portray any sort of friendship or contact with Shawn during those 15 years so it would not make sense for her to show up out of the blue like that. at all. They were ONCE friends but CLEARLY they are not anymore.

He was being selfless and thinking of her happiness before his own. So why are they making it seem like she just left him and he had no say in it whatsoever. Man this is some bullshit. They really screwed this character over.

They are treating Topanga like a minor character, when last I checked, she was a MAJOR character on the original show, and they should still give her that same respect on THIS show! But hopefully we see Angela again on the episode "Girl Meets Goodbye", so her and Topanga can reunite. I also hope Rachel and Jack return in that episode.
True but they also have history. Sometimes history makes you have great chemistry but it can also make you stop growing. Shawn and Angela didn’t really improve on themselves till they went there separate ways so I think it’s good that they had closure rather than a happily ever after. Now Katy could have been way better written but she was in a place in her life that was compatible with where Shawn was. But what I really took away wasn’t so much that Shawn needed to be with Katy but that he needed to be a father to Maya and she a daughter to him.
@@sweeney60 I wouldn't blame this on their history. All of Angela and Shawns first episodes together had a profound internal connection that is what made them special everytime you saw them together. So even the episode of their first date together blows Girl Meets World out of water by being 1000 times better than the whole GMW show ever was. That reunion was total BS. They still have unfinish business. They decided that Angela be married so there's no chance for them to get back together. They decided to close the door on their relationship. You can still see in Shawn's eyes that he still loves her and I bet she still does. At 2:35, look at Shawn's body reacts when Angela came really close and she touches his face and gave him a kiss. You can still see it that he has her stilunder his skin. Thank God for us fans, we know the real truth. Those two belong together.
Reasons why I hate GMW 1. They separated Shawn and Angela 2. How they made GMW completely about a love triangle instead of sis code and friendship (like BMW was amazing their friendship, bromance, romance) they ruined it dude.
Shawn and Angela were MEANT for each other. Shawn was talking about PROPOSING TO HER in boy meets world. He wanted to get married so she would stay with him instead of going with her father to Europe. Not to mention Shawn fell in love with her from the CONTENTS OF HER PURSE. He literally found her purse and the items in it and was like "wow I love this person" before he knew who's purse it was.
Exactly! Shawn even talked to Angela’s father about proposing he was so in love with her. Had Topanga not proposed to Corey and gone to Yale (like she should’ve done) I’m convinced they would’ve broken up.
People grow apart despite their best intentions. I changed colleges at the end of my first year and was head over heels for someone, I visited the following year and the Chemistry was there and then I wasn’t able to visit for years and she married someone else and has a family. I had to move on. She’s still among my best friends but that chapter is closed. Fairy tales don’t always exist in the real world. This scene is one of the most real examples of what happens when adults with the best intentions grow apart because life happens.

Why did Michael Jacobs suddenly decide that Angela’s character was so small? They went through so much together and worked so hard. People keep saying it was to make things more realistic and show that things don’t always work out but their relationship was already realistic. They worked so much to be able to fully understand each other and trust each other and finally allow themselves to be happy. That’s why the writers had to pull a bunch of bs that doesn’t even fit Angela’s character to make sense of them breaking up after her 1 YEAR abroad. I’m sorry but someone needs to script doctor the whole show.

I don’t mind that they didn’t end up together because obviously not everyone ends up with their first love like Cory and Topanga did but I still think the reunion could have been better. They should have run into each other by chance, he finds out she’s engaged, he tells her about Katy, and they both start to wonder if they made a mistake leaving each other. In the end they both realize they’ve moved on and the past is the past and give each other their blessing. It would have been more realistic than her randomly showing up to NY just to ask if she should have kids.

Honestly, this show butchered their relationship. I agree with the people that are saying "this just shows that you don't always end up with your first love." That part is clear. However, the reason she sought out Shawn after all these years, and their entire dynamic in this scene, was completely trash. She wasn't given then reunion she deserved. She was brought back and received as something negative to Shawn. And she was more than just Shawn's first love. She was a great friend to him, Cory, and Topanga (they didn't even have a scene together). I understand that this is GMW, so the point of this all is to root for the GMWs characters' chances of happiness, but the showrunners completely ruined the chemistry of Shawngela and Angela's character.
Im totally about to write my own BMW spin off , where we have Riley & then Maya, being a little mixed child of Shawn & Angela & ughhhh. I cannot BELIEVE Disney did this bs.
THAT would have been a great way to handle this instead of 1) trying to rehash Cory and Shawns story in female form (seriously, Riley is the female Cory and Maya is the female Shawn, all the way down to the poverty plotline and "bad kid" reputation), 2) treat one of the most important characters in the 2nd half of BMW as a throwaway and treat her like trash, and 3) force Shawn into a relationship because "Maya needs a father". I would have loved for Maya to be the daughter of Shawn and Angela and instead of what we got, have a main plot and b plot where the main plot follows the girls and the b plot follows the parents.
"Life goes on, Shawn." But she didn't say that back then :( She said it was more of 'I love you' than goodbye. The writers are wrong for this, he should have ended up with her..this would probably be my last episode.

Here’s how they can course correct from GMW.. Fast forward 7 years, Maya has graduated high school and is in college. Shawn and Katy realize their marriage was a mistake because without Maya there all the time they aren’t happy together on their own. Angela and her husband have major fertility issues which puts a strain on their marriage. Both couples divorce and Angela and Shawn find each other again, rekindle a friendship and lean on each to get through the pain of their broken marriages. That friendship evolves back into the love they once had, only this time they’ve learned from their past marriages and their own relationship (from BMW) and they are stronger than ever. THE END.
I like this ending. And the first paragraph is lowkey kind of true..I feel like..without Maya in the picture it wouldn't work. They don't have much "foundation" as a couple like Angela and Shawn did.

What REALLY upset me about this was that Angela said "My father doesn't just show up for me like yours does." What the actual fuck. How could Angela have EVER said that to Shawn. Angela cares about Shawn and she knows how rough the whole history between him and his father were and she knows how broken he still is after his father's death. How can the writers just have her spit out a comment like this? It's mean, insensitive, and completely out of Angela's character. I want to pretend like this episode never existed because it's so out of character and I don't want to hate Angela. I love Angela, I LOVED Angela. The right Angela in Boy Meets World. Not this one.

I feel like this has to do with the fact that they are different writers and probably were incompetent at making sure they were consistent. As in whoever wrote that line either didn't know or forgot that Shawn's father died. Or she's referring to someone else as his "father".
every part of Angela coming back or them referencing her felt like it was for 2 purposes: 1. callbacks to the original series with no substance ("your father shows up") or to tear down Shawngela/get Angela out of the way so Shawn could hurry to get over her and marry Katy. It was all so...childishly handled. Meanwhile BMW had them have a complex but ultimately healthy relationship and they were their own thing--Shawn said the CoryTopanga line on their first official date!!

I knew she was married from the promo stills. I am super pissed. I couldn't believe when I was watching last night. They can't even get their history straight. Shawn can still be a father figure without marrying Maya's mom. And how cruel is it for Angela to even show up and ask Shawn?????? This girl angle is killing BMW history and the girls are annoying. It's kiddied down and the magic is missing. Why else do I even watch- for the BMW cast!I'd rather not have the spinoff if they're going to rewrite BMW history. I don't think I'll continue watching except for cameo episodes now. This bites!!!!

I'm sorry, what? On a binge of Shawn and Angela moments, and...WHAT? I knew they broke up in Boy Meets World, but WHAT? I'm hurt they didn't eventually end up together from then til now, but I'm MAD that this is supposed to make sense. Angela, married for four years to a military man, tracks down the man she used to love to ask him whether or not she should have children with her now husband? And she could only talk to Shawn about it and not Topanga???? And as quickly as she came, she just leaves like that with "let we had" BS??? If Shawn is going to end up with someone else, at least make it seem like he moved on himself instead of being pressured to move on WHILE being a father figure. At least let him and Angela talk things out and have her act like they used to care about each other. The years can change a person, but nothing happened between Shawn and Angela to make her act this way.

Only watched BMW last year and the chemistry between Shawngela was amazing so watchin their clips from this show was hella annoying, the script was terrible, really thats the reason she came back and Shawn convinced her to have kids in that one sentence and angela actin like they r bffs irritates me She nolonger looks at him the way she used to😭😭😭😭😭 If this wasnt a disney show, it would have been a different outcome/story
It would have been better if this reunion was the setup for them becoming friends again then getting back together then to finally realize that they are both ready to make that life long commitment to each other. That would have been better.
I saw more chemistry between Angela and Shawn than Katy and Shawn. Literally they couldn’t give her a warm welcome. Let’s just forget Shawn and Angela we’re literally meant for each other, and they are all acting as if she didn’t leave to be with her father (family over anything). Cory acting as if Angela and him didn’t have some special friendship and like he didn’t love seeing them together! Topanga suddenly forgetting Angela and her were besties. They literally ruined this scene by having Maya and Riley be in it too. Why have those two bugs flying around when they don’t even know Angela. They’re also acting as if Anglea just happens to step in the picture to ruin everything like sis not everything is going to your way Maya. This show is complete bs.
Well....I guess this will be my last episode of Girl Meets World, now that Angela and Shawn are over :/ But then again its not like I actually watch the show only when the old cast from the original make appearances.
Hate Shawn/Katy so god damn much. While Shawn/Angela had their issues - because seriously, there was some seriously awful writing for that relationship, Shawn/Angela was also the only relationship ever shown other than Shawn/Cory that ever showed Shawn with someone that he had real, honest to god CHEMISTRY with, who you 100% could tell he loved. It's horrific that they had Shawn basically marry a female version of his FATHER!
They killed their own show with this nonsense, they were only considering the new fan base and forgot about the original fan base, they knew how it should have ended and decided to throw a random twist to it, which bit them right back 🤦🏾♀️ I’ll never get over it. This is how it should've happened: Cory, Topanga, Shawn and Angela all go their separate ways for years. Angela finds another lover but unexpectedly gets pregnant will Maya. Her "lover" leaves her bc he's not ready to be a father. Maya meets Riley in school and they become BFFs. Angela is so busy with her 3 jobs trying to support Maya as a single mother. She doesn't get to meet Riley's parents. Once she finds out Riley's parents are Corry and Topanga, they all rekindle. Shawn coincidentally runs into all of them. Shawn and Angela realized they still love eachother. They marry and Shawn becomes Maya's father. Shawn can relate to Maya bc when he was her age, he also wasn't close with his biological dad. But Shawn becomes the father figure Maya always needed. Most importantly Shawn and Angela are together in the end!

They did Angela dirty in so many ways. Seriously, she was always the best match for Shawn, and yet for some dumb reason, they treated her going to Europe as her betraying Shawn, ignoring that it was agreed upon by both Angela and Shawn, not her just up and leaving. Also how Cory and Topanga, two of Angela's best friends not even trying to defend Angela or support her, where they acted like she was the plague really pissed me off. Probably the biggest insult was having Shawn and Angela never end up together, where they for some dumb reason shoe horned this sub par "relationship" between Shawn and Katie, as if acting like he HAD to be Maya's dad, even though he could have been more like Mr. Turner and been there for Maya without having to marry her mom.
Who comes back to their ex to ask if she’s ready for kids? She admitted that she wasn’t ready for who knows what with Shawn, so why she is asking for his advice on what to do in her supposedly committed relationship? They did Angela/Trina so dirty with this writing and the styling.
I wanted Shawn and Angela to end up together so much. I honestly can accept that they'd still love each other as friends.... but I'd really love if they ended up still in love.

I don't get this entire episode if you need to ask your first love whether or not you should have children with your husband because he's the only one that knows you and that only one you can trust WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU? YOU'RE WITH THE WRONG PERSON. Clearly Shawn and Angela belong together!
Just because you love someone doesn't mean you can't connect with another person in a special way. Shawn and Angela had a similar upbringing. I would surmise that Angela's husband did not. As this is related to having kids and her feeling like she wouldn't be a good mother, she seeked out someone in a very similar situation that she could TRUST. You are forgetting that they were ALL friends in BMW. No matter relationships or anything, a friend is someone you can turn to. BMW showed both sides of the spectrum. Cory and Topanga got together and stayed together as first loves, while Shawn and Angela didn't make it together. It shows that you can love again and that the first love can teach you lessons to prepare for the future.

The fact that Shawn and friends didn't know she was married was an indicator that they never stayed in touch and thus making her almost like a complete stranger. The show did not portray any sort of friendship or contact with Shawn during those 15 years so it would not make sense for her to show up out of the blue like that. at all. They were ONCE friends but CLEARLY they are not anymore.

Shawn and Angela has more chemistry in this scene than Shawn and Katy had in all of GMW.
True but they also have history. Sometimes history makes you have great chemistry but it can also make you stop growing. Shawn and Angela didn’t really improve on themselves till they went there separate ways so I think it’s good that they had closure rather than a happily ever after. Now Katy could have been way better written but she was in a place in her life that was compatible with where Shawn was. But what I really took away wasn’t so much that Shawn needed to be with Katy but that he needed to be a father to Maya and she a daughter to him.

So even the episode of their first date together blows Girl Meets World out of water by being 1000 times better than the whole GMW show ever was. That reunion was total BS. They still have unfinish business. They decided that Angela be married so there's no chance for them to get back together. They decided to close the door on their relationship. You can still see in Shawn's eyes that he still loves her and I bet she still does. At 2:35, look at Shawn's body reacts when Angela came really close and she touches his face and gave him a kiss. You can still see it that he has her stilunder his skin. Thank God for us fans, we know the real truth. Those two belong together.

1. They separated Shawn and Angela
2. How they made GMW completely about a love triangle instead of sis code and friendship (like BMW was amazing their friendship, bromance, romance) they ruined it dude.

Shawn and Angela were MEANT for each other. Shawn was talking about PROPOSING TO HER in boy meets world. He wanted to get married so she would stay with him instead of going with her father to Europe. Not to mention Shawn fell in love with her from the CONTENTS OF HER PURSE. He literally found her purse and the items in it and was like "wow I love this person" before he knew who's purse it was.
Exactly! Shawn even talked to Angela’s father about proposing he was so in love with her. Had Topanga not proposed to Corey and gone to Yale (like she should’ve done) I’m convinced they would’ve broken up.

Sometimes that’s how life goes. It doesn’t always work out. This scene was very organic.
People grow apart despite their best intentions. I changed colleges at the end of my first year and was head over heels for someone, I visited the following year and the Chemistry was there and then I wasn’t able to visit for years and she married someone else and has a family. I had to move on. She’s still among my best friends but that chapter is closed. Fairy tales don’t always exist in the real world. This scene is one of the most real examples of what happens when adults with the best intentions grow apart because life happens.
I still think TO THIS DAY that Shawn fumbled the bag with Angela.

They should have run into each other by chance, he finds out she’s engaged, he tells her about Katy, and they both start to wonder if they made a mistake leaving each other. In the end they both realize they’ve moved on and the past is the past and give each other their blessing. It would have been more realistic than her randomly showing up to NY just to ask if she should have kids.

Honestly, this show butchered their relationship. I agree with the people that are saying "this just shows that you don't always end up with your first love." That part is clear. However, the reason she sought out Shawn after all these years, and their entire dynamic in this scene, was completely trash. She wasn't given then reunion she deserved. She was brought back and received as something negative to Shawn. And she was more than just Shawn's first love. She was a great friend to him, Cory, and Topanga (they didn't even have a scene together). I understand that this is GMW, so the point of this all is to root for the GMWs characters' chances of happiness, but the showrunners completely ruined the chemistry of Shawngela and Angela's character.

THAT would have been a great way to handle this instead of 1) trying to rehash Cory and Shawns story in female form (seriously, Riley is the female Cory and Maya is the female Shawn, all the way down to the poverty plotline and "bad kid" reputation), 2) treat one of the most important characters in the 2nd half of BMW as a throwaway and treat her like trash, and 3) force Shawn into a relationship because "Maya needs a father". I would have loved for Maya to be the daughter of Shawn and Angela and instead of what we got, have a main plot and b plot where the main plot follows the girls and the b plot follows the parents.
"Life goes on, Shawn." But she didn't say that back then :( She said it was more of 'I love you' than goodbye. The writers are wrong for this, he should have ended up with her..this would probably be my last episode.

Here’s how they can course correct from GMW..
Fast forward 7 years, Maya has graduated high school and is in college. Shawn and Katy realize their marriage was a mistake because without Maya there all the time they aren’t happy together on their own.
Angela and her husband have major fertility issues which puts a strain on their marriage. Both couples divorce and Angela and Shawn find each other again, rekindle a friendship and lean on each to get through the pain of their broken marriages. That friendship evolves back into the love they once had, only this time they’ve learned from their past marriages and their own relationship (from BMW) and they are stronger than ever. THE END.
I like this ending. And the first paragraph is lowkey kind of true..I feel like..without Maya in the picture it wouldn't work. They don't have much "foundation" as a couple like Angela and Shawn did.

How can the writers just have her spit out a comment like this? It's mean, insensitive, and completely out of Angela's character. THAT is actually the only thing I thought was wrong with this scene. I feel like this has to do with the fact that they are different writers and probably were incompetent at making sure they were consistent. As in whoever wrote that line either didn't know or forgot that Shawn's father died. Or she's referring to someone else as his "father".
every part of Angela coming back or them referencing her felt like it was for 2 purposes: 1. callbacks to the original series with no substance ("your father shows up") or to tear down Shawngela/get Angela out of the way so Shawn could hurry to get over her and marry Katy. It was all so...childishly handled. Meanwhile BMW had them have a complex but ultimately healthy relationship and they were their own thing--Shawn said the CoryTopanga line on their first official date!!

Only watched BMW last year and the chemistry between Shawngela was amazing so watchin their clips from this show was hella annoying, the script was terrible, really thats the reason she came back and Shawn convinced her to have kids in that one sentence and angela actin like they r bffs irritates me

It would have been better if this reunion was the setup for them becoming friends again then getting back together then to finally realize that they are both ready to make that life long commitment to each other. That would have been better.

Right?! Angela went to HS and college with them, she was Topangas one of bridesmaids. She deserved so much more than what they wrote.

I saw more chemistry between Angela and Shawn than Katy and Shawn. Literally they couldn’t give her a warm welcome. Let’s just forget Shawn and Angela we’re literally meant for each other, and they are all acting as if she didn’t leave to be with her father (family over anything). Cory acting as if Angela and him didn’t have some special friendship and like he didn’t love seeing them together! Topanga suddenly forgetting Angela and her were besties. They literally ruined this scene by having Maya and Riley be in it too. Why have those two bugs flying around when they don’t even know Angela. They’re also acting as if Anglea just happens to step in the picture to ruin everything like sis not everything is going to your way Maya. This show is complete bs.
It blows my mind to learn how she was treated by the cast back in the day. It kind of ruins the way i use to see the show learning what i know now

Hate Shawn/Katy so god damn much. While Shawn/Angela had their issues - because seriously, there was some seriously awful writing for that relationship, Shawn/Angela was also the only relationship ever shown other than Shawn/Cory that ever showed Shawn with someone that he had real, honest to god CHEMISTRY with, who you 100% could tell he loved. It's horrific that they had Shawn basically marry a female version of his FATHER!
They killed their own show with this nonsense, they were only considering the new fan base and forgot about the original fan base, they knew how it should have ended and decided to throw a random twist to it, which bit them right back 🤦🏾♀️ I’ll never get over it. Somebody needs to figure out a way to bring this back with a plot that makes sense. And where the heck was Topanga? This was her best friend!

This is how it should've happened:
Cory, Topanga, Shawn and Angela all go their separate ways for years. Angela finds another lover but unexpectedly gets pregnant will Maya. Her "lover" leaves her bc he's not ready to be a father. Maya meets Riley in school and they become BFFs. Angela is so busy with her 3 jobs trying to support Maya as a single mother. She doesn't get to meet Riley's parents. Once she finds out Riley's parents are Corry and Topanga, they all rekindle. Shawn coincidentally runs into all of them. Shawn and Angela realized they still love eachother. They marry and Shawn becomes Maya's father. Shawn can relate to Maya bc when he was her age, he also wasn't close with his biological dad. But Shawn becomes the father figure Maya always needed. Most importantly Shawn and Angela are together in the end!

They did Angela dirty in so many ways. Seriously, she was always the best match for Shawn, and yet for some dumb reason, they treated her going to Europe as her betraying Shawn, ignoring that it was agreed upon by both Angela and Shawn, not her just up and leaving. Also how Cory and Topanga, two of Angela's best friends not even trying to defend Angela or support her, where they acted like she was the plague really pissed me off. Probably the biggest insult was having Shawn and Angela never end up together, where they for some dumb reason shoe horned this sub par "relationship" between Shawn and Katie, as if acting like he HAD to be Maya's dad, even though he could have been more like Mr. Turner and been there for Maya without having to marry her mom.

Who comes back to their ex to ask if she’s ready for kids? She admitted that she wasn’t ready for who knows what with Shawn, so why she is asking for his advice on what to do in her supposedly committed relationship? They did Angela/Trina so dirty with this writing and the styling.
