I never got to enjoy the original game despite having a Wii back when the game first came out. I will absolutely not use the hint feature based on everything I've heard lol
@@NatsuDragneel1x Absolutely. You might actually enjoy the companion in the game that way. Otherwise she will (and I'm not even exaggerating) start beeping to let you know that the other beeping noise you're hearing is because your clearly visible health bar is running low. She was literally alerting you about an alert that's already redundant because of the meter permanently displayed on screen.
*Link walks into a room, a longass cutscene plays showing you a massive target on the wall*
Fi *jumping out of master sword* : Master, I suspect that there is a 95.6% chance that a mechanical device of unknown origin will be activated if you were to utilize your own device found in a large, labrinthlike structure 95 kilometers away from this location. Didnt play the original, but hearing how that was a thing is honestly unbelievable to me lol. They really valued babying you so much that theyd waste your time to that degree
@@PantsaBear It was sooooo much worse in Twilight Princess. This is why I preach from the rooftops never to play the original TP and just go for the Twilight Princess HD version. It had a lot of really bad crap like that and they just made the game actually sensible in the HD version.

Speedrunners: *heavy breathing *
They actually found a work around in the original. They used a glitch skip huge portions of the game. They called it "back in time"
@@bestmimic Back in time only works because of how the Wii system menu works. It's highly unlikely that it will work on the Switch, so some speedrunners have been practicing the no back in time category lately
@@jonathand.4088 Very interesting. So the skipping cutscenes will be a big deal for them after all
Hero Mode (basically a hard mode after beating the game) had the ability to skip cutscenes, so you'd pretty much never see speedrunners run normal mode because of that.
@@angeldude101I don't know if you are familiar with Skyward Sword speedrunning, so I may say things you already know. Hero mode is convenient in several ways for the speedrun of the game. Double damage is handy to setup back in time, overpowered skyward strike is necessary in some situations, and of course being able to skip cutscenes is a huge relief. Beyond that, with the current Any% route, Normal mode is not just slower, it's impossible due to glitched cutscenes than must be skipped because they won't end properly.

Not all of them; there's still no left-handed mode.
unfortunately people have issues with its design too
@@matthewmuir8884 That was my main complaint with the original. Now that motion controls are optional though I guess I'll have to use the button controls
@@HoboKing0 Or just not buy the game (I'm just saying that that is an option). But yeah; I hate that there isn't a left-handed mode, and the worst thing is that this isn't even the first time a Wii game's been ported to Switch without considering the left-handed:
When Mario Galaxy was ported to the Switch for 3D All-Stars, despite each joy-con having a gyro, they only re-mapped the pointer-controls to the right gyro, with no option to switch it to the left gyro. As a lefty that played every Wii game with the Wii remote in my left hand, I found that infuriating.
Lots on issues with the game design itself that could not possibly be fixed with qol fixes, but yeah, it is very good to fix the obvious and easily fixable ones.

This means they’ve actually done quite a lot to improve the game, I’m glad. I was kind of worried it was just gonna be a lazy port but they seem to actually be putting a lot of work into this one. I’m excited
It is a lazy port, it's virtually the sa.e except with everything that bugged people
@@chillbeatzzz2605 so does that make wind waker and twilight princess HD lazy ports? Before you reply with graphical crap read this
Twilight princess needed textures cause its art style didn't age well and even with those retextures it barely looks like it's a well aged game (still my favorite Zelda game though), wind wakers art style was criticized so badly a fix was needed so obviously they changed up a lot for wind waker, skyward sword being a late Wii game its art style has aged pretty well so wasn't much they could have done to make the game look better. Now as for quality of life improvements are we judging them based off of time spent on them? Take the twilight zones in twilight princess, do you honestly think it took a lot of work to just remove certain tears? Some changes do take time and effort like skyward swords buttons must have taken a lot of trial and error so we already know some effort was put into a change, twilight princesses stamps must have also taken a lot of work, not only did they have to draw every single stamp but they also had to hide them in places that weren't obvious, put the miiverse system into it, and Do this for 50 stamps and you know what that was a bad feature and its even worse now, just because this game doesn't look much different than the original doesn't mean its a "lazy port" plus you're probably going to buy it anyways, that's what all you Nintendo fans do
@@housingfungus2843 I mean, no need to get so worked up about it. I'm not buying it as I have the original. And I think it's lazy cause it didn't get anything extra added to it, contrary to tp and wind waker. And graphics could still improve, I can still notice the polygons. Doesn't mean they're bad, I think they're great graphics, it just doesn't change that much. Tp had master mode and wind waker had a huge graphical change and skyward sword just quality of life.

They seem really excited to make this game as loved as they loved creating it. It really deserved better than what happened to it. You can feel the love in this game in the music and the cutscenes. They are so real.
The guy who directed BOTW directed Skyward sword first so in many ways this is his baby. That's why you'll see this game play a huge role in BOTW 2.
@@nworder4life No wonder Link is right-handed in both games despite it not making any sense (particularly in BOTW, where there are no 1:1 motion controls). To be clear, I'm just saying that does explain it.
@@matthewmuir8884 Link's right handed in BotW to match the button inputs, says Nintendo.
@@CDRW24 The thing I find hilarious (and infuriating) about that reason Aonuma gave was that, not only was it obviously BS and made up on-the-spot (every Nintendo console except the Wii has had the attack buttons on the right-hand side), but he wasn't even consistent about it: he had been asked about why Link isn't left-handed in BOTW multiple times across multiple interviews before the game released, and every single time, he gave a *different,* obviously BS and made up on-the-spot, answer.
@@matthewmuir8884 Carson wasn't talking about Aonuma, the director of SS and BOTW is Fujibayashi. Aonuma only directed MM, TWW and TP; then became a producer ever since
I cant believe I was 13 when this came out. Still some of my favorite gaming memories
I sense a 95.301748% chance that these improvements will help the game tremendously
After so many trailers in less than 24 hours this is the one we've been waiting for.
0:09 - it looks like Zelda learns something from Kazuya XD
jajjajaja It's funny because it's true
GAME!
Zelda is a Kazuya main, this is my headcanon now.
Okay good. Can we finally put the, "it's literally the exact same game" narrative to bed, now that it's been shown to be demonstrably false?
@Pink is sus No, but the new controls are.
@Pink is sus They also added free camera and auto save. Not sure why it wasn’t shown in this trailer
Very cool, nice to see these implemented.
I gotta say, this game looks way better in 60fps, especially without the blur that av cables make
....never seen it with an RPG or component cable, huh?
@@darklordyianni4463 *RGB
RGB* lulz.
It looks fine on the Wii U. The problem with the HD re-releases is they homogenize the series' graphics style and lose their unique charm.
@@MatadorMedia i dont mind, but yeah they should've included display filter on the remaster
Nintendo: they seem to like it when I put the quality of life features on the grill!
THIS IS WHAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
“Master the batteries in your joy cons are nearly depleted”
Fi: "Master, you keep trying to swing your shield as if it were your sword"
Me: "I'm left-handed! Let me swing the sword with my left hand!"
Fi: "Master, if you don't stop trying to use your left hand, I'm going to have to bring out the ruler"
FINALLY! That’s what we’ve been waiting for!
Fi is less annoying, option for button controls, 60 FPS, skippable dialogue, no more pointless item explanation after reloading, and skippable cutscenes. Overall, all of these changes are gonna make this game much more replayable.
Also the description says this is "just a few" of the changes, so there's probably even more good improvements that we don't know about yet.
Couldn't you already skip cutscenes? Or was that Twilight Princess?
@@nanoff815 You could skip cutscenes in Hero Mode which was unlocked after beating the game once, but now the HD version lets you skip cutscenes no matter what.
The game also auto saves, you can see it on the game menu.
You know, I never picked this game up back in the old days because it was Motion Plus, a feature I didn’t have access to because I was a broke college kid.
Well, guess who’s now a semi-financially stable adult with MONEY and a system with the OPTION to deal with motion controls, Skyward Sword? I’m picking you up!
Go off king
I appreciate the person who made 1:25 line up with the music
Ten years later and still one of my favorites. The original hero is back and ready to stop Demise.
Arin must have felt a disturbance in the force, now that they are gonna remove constant reminders of what you pick up.
I wonder if they'll play through HD when it comes out.
Also the whole no constant Fi reminders and the lack of motion controls.
I can’t wait to improve the quality of my life by playing this game

Finally they show it
What do you think about this trailer?
True, still crossing my fingers for that master mode
@@drollycoffee1599
Well, wwhd and tphd had that mode available from the start, it'd be sad if they broke the trend here...
and with how it's priced at 60 usd, I'm pretty sure many zelda fans would complain if they didn't add that. Also, twilight princess has the cave of shadows so please I hope they add something similar to skyward.
@@a.liguria2698 well to be fair collectibles carrying over was a big feature of hero mode.
I completely missed this game before but I'm glad I'll be getting an improved version of it the day after my birthday!
Its a really good game, personally I prefer this game over ocarina of time
Trust me. Fi would stop you every 40 seconds or so to tell you something you already know or something totally unhelpful and unrelated to the task at hand or "best" of all repeat exactly what someone just said! If they're toning her back, like it looks like they're doing, you dodged a Bullet Bill.
Happy early birthday!
The fact I won't get item descriptions everytime I reload a save file is amazing.
About time. Twilight princess was remastered in HD 3 darn times! While skyward sword not even once
Fast forward option for dialogue is great, no repeating item descriptions too. Optional Fi hints...there was always an optional hint system, but I’m assuming this to mean some of Fi’s forced hints will be optional now
Also, I noticed we have an auto save now. Cool. :)
Free camera too
@@giornogiovanna4389 I doubt that, the right stick would normally be used for that, and that's been reassigned for Sword controls
@@blondmop92 maybe free camera is unlocked when using motion controls. Unless both are active at the same time
@@blondmop92 the new fixed camera is sus though I mean why would they change the camera to be a bit more lower and less above Link
@@blondmop92 It was shown on the official Zelda Twitter already. In the video where they talk about the stamina system, at the very end of the video they move the camera freely

Hah, this video finally won me over. No more repeated item pickup dialogue and no more forced tutorials is a game changer, it will make the experience smoother and less tedious. 60 fps is wonderful too, easier on the eyes.
I'm looking forward to the release!
Same, I really was not liking this port before this video, but now I might pick it up!
Thank you Nintendo for porting this game to the Switch. I will enjoy playing this game!

I loved this game soo much on the wii that I beat it and then immediately played it again.

Same, but the difference is that i accidentally overwrote my normal save file after the credits so i had to beat it again in hero mode. 😅

I played this on the Wii and had tons of fun
My first time playing too! I got the joy cons to play with it too =)
I'm so excited for dialogue skip! You have no idea how many times I've uselessly mashed A trying to get the dialogue to show up even _slightly_ faster because I've gotten that dialogue from the NPC already, and I was just checking to see if they had something new to say.
I can’t wait to play it!!!!
Arlo's gonna be really happy about this! I think this just checked off a lot of the features he listed in his video on what Skyward Sword HD needs to change.
