Fuel is usually under a lot of pressure. One should definitely at least open the fuel cap to remove some of the pressure before tackling this job. All in all, it was a pretty good video.
It would be nice to know what side of the car that is on okay thank you that would really help instead of having to watch the whole video and it doesn't really give a good shot of what side of the car the filter is on
@@stevesilvera5705 If you can't tell from the first min of the video, take the car to a shop before you mess it up. It says right rear side at 44 seconds.
Good video. Two tips: 1. clamp off the fuel lines before removing 2. Use a fuel line disconnect tool to disconnect the lines before removing the filter
I wouldn't recommend this for the specific car it's on, it has a mechanical fuel pump thats ran off the camshaft, it isn't cheap, and can burn up rather quickly without fuel, otherwise, this would be viable, there is however a bleed valve on the mechanical pump for checking pressure and releasing it, I personally would just spill the fuel under the car into a bucket and wear gloves,
Just out of curiosity mate, were you having issues with power loss, slow gain of revs'. Had some issues of that nature myself and after being on several Audi/VW chat sites, so have many others, some spending hundreds if not thousands of pounds on job after job that doesn't fix the problem. (Audi Dealers mostly). But one chap has said it's a really cheap fix, just replace the fuel filter... seems a few others tried it and it worked for them too. Thanks for the vid anyway. I'll manage to do it now I've seen this. Best wishes.
Ahh I believe the 3.2 is different, it may be under the hood, the 2.0t has the regulator built into the filter, the 3.2 has two regulators that are at the end of each fuel rail from my understanding, so there are definitely some differences, however I don't know what all of them are
ISN'T THAT A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ?? BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT I CHANGED ON 08 AUDI A8L QUATTRO AND THE BOX SAYS REGULATOR. . I HAVE THE FUEL FILTER BUT COULDN'T FIND WHERE IT GOES? AND THAT ONE HAS ONE LINE ON EACH SIDE. .THE REGULATOR HAS TWO ON One SIDE A ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE. ..
I changed that same filter bc 08 Audi A4 2.0L would sometimes loose power and stall out when I stopped. After changed and took for a drive my CEL came on. Took to Auto Zone and it gave the code for fuel pressure regulator which I just learned is part of this filter I changed. Anyone know what it could be? Giving code P0089 fuel pressure regulator performance. Valve for fuel metering (N290). Been looking all over the forums, even emailed the FCP Euro where I purchased and he sent me the link for this part! Just trying to get this car fixed up so my son can have a car to drive for his senior year! Thanks for any help in advance!
You should probably read up on how to do this before making a video of yourself guessing and fumbling around filming the ground and screwing around, you should relieve the pressure first by running the car with the fuse out. This was a terrible video and I needed to see how it’s done not watch you figure it out the wrong way anyway

Pressure is held after the fuel pump in the line taking off the fuel cap will do nothing since the evaporated gas goes to the evap line anyway
Easier if you disconnect the fuel lines first. Then the fuel filter will just slide out.

Then fuel goes everywhere though
@@mr_jackson_6240 use gloves, and have something to catch the fuel in.

Darius Sairafi 1 if you clamp these hard plastic lines you’ll break them 2 these are push clips no tool required 3 learn your cars before commenting
Start the car let it run and pull the fuse for the fuel pump until the car stalls. This will relieve the fuel pressure.

Thank you so much for this video! It was excellent and totally helped me replace my fuel filter. Keep the videos coming! You rock!
Thanks for the video! Looks like I'll be tackling this one this week!
Nice one. Feel confident I can do this on mine too. Cheers.

@centurion2501. I also have the loss of power and was wondering did replacing the fuel filter resolve the issue for you?
So did any1 try this and did it work I'm having the same power problem
@@davidhamilton9461 just did on mine after constant power loss, engine power restored instantly
@@corpzzz well you change all filters with oil every 10-15k km's guys, thats car basic 101.
@Mason Gilbert He doesn't lmfao
Where is this located? This video is so close up I can’t tell if you’re in the back, the front, the passenger or driver side....
RubberTrampRenegade yeah which side is it on
If you see the video he said that it's the right side of the back meaning passenger side and he has the back of the car on the ramps hope that helps
Fuel filter bad what's problem car?
Does this apply to a tdi version that has a filter under the bonnet
Great video!
Wow. Good steps...but pit the camera down bud. I'm ill. Lolz
What motor? Mines a 2006 3.2L A4 and I’ve never seen a filter under my car. Is this only on the 2.0L model?
It’s a B7 2.0

Is it petrol or diesel ?
need to clean it with cloth so you can save the fuel
