There's some strange conception among jazz listeners that sitting completly still at a jazz concert with a straight face means that you're taking it seriously. For me, it usually means the complete opposite, that you are more concerned with how you look when at a concert than with the music itself. Superficiality at it's finest.
I thought the saxophonist was familiar and sure enough realised he is Shabaka Hutchings, who recently performed at the Mingus BBC Prom. This goes hard. Channelling those African/Caribbean influences to rampant effect.

the tube man is amazing
had to like this off the name alone.
The live version seems different from the mixed but I still like it very much. It makes the other one even more authentic.

How is his tenor saxophone so small?
It's not small, Shabaka's a tall man
He's just a giant

This is great - they're a fantastic band ! But what happened to the drummer with the huge hair ? Is he now the bald guy ?
That's that snappy conversation with God* in the end, he'll see you were right. (trust me, that adjudication guy, he's biased).

Dope!!!!!!

how is that tuba player ?
simon balleyguier When two people love each other very much they might decide to make a baby. This one was made a tuba player.
He's fine.
He’s pretty good
Theon Cross is the Tuba player.
he ain't Coltrane, but it's better than most of the stuff one is exposed to nowadays;
The bald drummer looks bored.
