  • Hi folks,
Brussels Airport is still one of the few major European airports that after the introduction of this double deck bus in 2008 still has no pax schedule with it. A presentation flight already took place on 8 June 2010 (see also my video about it via • Brussels Airport, Luft... A ) but since it remained very silent. A test flight with a special constructed bridge back on April 19 2018 was in three words 'a big fiasco', the main reason why airlines, in this case Emirates, show no real interest in starting one. As this case is still hanging in the court, a solution seems far away...
Anyhow the Brussels spotters community has to be happy with unexpected visitors due to technical or other reasons like bad weather at airports where they come in big numbers. On 28 June 2024 this was the case when London Gatwick was temporarily closed after an aborted takeoff of a British Airways Triple Seven blocking the sole runway there. As flight EK15 was in finals with no clue how long the obstruction would last, Emirates decided to send this metal bird to Brussels Airport till the issues at Gatwick were solved. So by surprise a fifth visit took place @ BRU of this big Airbus.
In this footage, Emirates A380 with tailnumber "A6-EEX" is covered (sadly I missed the landing due to the short notice before) but I hope you like it as the double deck Airbus remain a real rarity @ BRU for the foreseeable future.

More aviation related stuff filmed in 4K and solely taken at Brussels Airport spotted from the ATC building at Steenokkerzeel will be uploaded on a regular base as hundreds of items are waiting to get analyzed, post processed and compiled to show it online someday.
Some of my older footage prior 2024 will remain for the time being online although filming quality at that era was not that great. But it gives an idea of some movements @ Brussels Airport throughout the years when I was there.
