Aesthetic Social Media Culture impacts the idea of what the "perfect post" is to content creators, influencers, celebrities, and content consumers on a daily basis. The unfortunate pressure to adhere to popular aesthetic social media culture prevents valuable, relatable, authentic, inspiring, and educational content from being created. I have unfortunately found myself consumed by the aesthetic social media culture trap when I don't have access to my ring-light, tripod, and filming set-up which has prevented me from making valuable content and also left me in a self-deprecating, unproductive slump. In this video, I highlight the reason why I am so passionate about filming, producing, posting, and consuming content that goes against the popular social media aesthetic and why it is so important to represent yourself authentically on all social media platforms.
