  • G scale trains in the snow today 2/17/24 my friend Dave and I meet at the GCGRS club layout at Entertrainment Junction to plow snow and run trains. I brought a USA Trains NW2 with calf unit and an Aristocraft plow. Dave brought a beautiful 2 truck Bachmann Shay and his Thomas the tank engine. The snow in the yard was higher then the gondola and over the hood of the NW2. I got 2 of the main lines clear and started on the 3rd when I realized I forgot to charge my battery.

Those signals are great! Very realistic looking. I haven't seen any like that for sale. What brand or those, or did you make them yourself? Either way, great railroad and video.

Those signals are made by a company called Shiloh signals. They are excellent quality and stay outside year round. My friend Dave added them to our club layout. You can also find South Bend Signals which have IR sensors and the lights auto change when the train goes by. I have a hand full of those I bring to the layout when it's dry (they don't last in the weather).

@@N5VAV your welcome. The south bend ones are getting harder to find since they quit making them but they are out still out there I found 10 this past year. The shiloh ones are still being made and have a pretty decent price for the quality

You need a rotary. If such a thing is made in that scale.

I have a USA Trains brand rotary plow but it's more for looks then functionality. You have to have very fluffy snow for it to throw anything. I do plan on eventually making one that will actually throw snow.
