- Join Driven Chat hosts, Andy Jaye & John Marcar as they get exclusive access to one of the most anticipated cars of the century, The Radford Type 62-2.
TV’s Ant Anstead invited the Driven Chat team along to Lotus’ test circuit alongside their factory in Hethel, Norfolk to witness the Type 62-2 moving under its own power for the very first time as part of a TV show with none other than Jenson Button behind the wheel.
On a day that continued to bring a new surprise around every corner, in this video, we see Andy and John enjoying the most exclusive access available at the world-famous Lotus facility with conversations from Ant Anstead and Lotus design director Russell Carr plus a very unexpected driving experience for John on the circuit!

A huge thanks once again to the team at Radford and Lotus for their amazing hospitality. We can’t wait to show you even more content. In the meantime, head over to the Driven Chat website for even more pictures of the stunning Type 62-2!
That was ace! So good I watched it twice, 1st on a phone and then on the big screen to really do it justice. Great content, fantastically put together and what a great day!
Thanks, Simon! So glad you enjoyed it
Great little video, really enjoyed that.
Been waiting to see the Radford turn its wheels for a long time.....looks amazing in motion
Content like this is great on the channel, you guys are lucky enough to get invited to places that most people don't get to see, and the whole "Behind the scenes" thing really works well. That coupled with some great shots and editing really does make for an enjoyable watch.
Thanks for watching! So glad you enjoyed it.
Way better than any new Lotus
Great content, subscribed....
Thanks so much!
The Radford 62-2 is one utterly sexy beast butit needs a rear wing like a Porsche Long-tail coupled with a modern deplorable adjustable DRS rear wing inbetween the existing fixed carbon fibre rear wings on the Radford 62-2. The DRS rear wing could pop out like the modern Ford GT road car rear wing. Sexy beast.
Finally a Lotus that's not a pip-squeak dinky toy. Thank you Radford.
Radford certainly have created something special
Staring yours truly @ 5:11 showing the guys something special and maybe the only ones in existence!
Awesome! We count ourselves so lucky to have been part of it.
I have a video of it driving down Las Vegas Blvd!!😍😊
Amazing!
Hope to see you people tweak the Emira to squeeze 600hp out of it. After all it's the same engine, isn't it?
It is the same V6, yes!
This is the perfect lotus I really hope the price doesn’t hike up to 1 mill Atleast before I get one 😂
We agree! and it'll be fascinating to see what happens to the values! - John
Basically, what the T50 should've look like.
Interesting! :D It certainly is a great looking car!
The Radford Lotus Type 62-2...So exclusively low volume, Radford seems to not even employ any staff.....🤔
I’m sorry but that music is just awful
And Lotus will made only electric cars in the future. 🤦♂️. Poor Lotus.
Electric cars are the end of Lotus.
Super stupid choice!!!!!!!!🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It is of course sad to say goodbye to ICE engines, however they’re just playing by the rules for legislation. Hopefully companies like Radford will continue to make noisy lotus based cars with characterful engines and sounds.
