Those jumps into the foamy,high waves must have been an amazing experience!I like the dark,volcanic sand, and footprints,that the surf erases.😊Pleasant local taste of living,roosters crowing and hens clucking.Flawless beach!!👍
One of my most enduring memories from Hawaii (over 30 years ago) was watching a guy body surf at Waimea, dude probably body surfed a couple hundred yards on some huge wave all the way to shore, just short of where I was laying on the beach, will never forget that.
I was a body surfer when I was a teenager and young adult. Every day in the summer, I would bodysurf with my friends along with my sisters . We rode some 7 and 8 ft waves at Marine Street in LA Jolla , Calif. WORE MENS BOXER SHORTS SO THAT ARE BIKINIS WOULD NOT GET RIPPED OFF FROM THOSE HUGH WAVES. WE HAD TO FLIP OUT AT THE END OF THE WAVE AS WE ENTERED THE SHORE BECAUSE THERE WAS A HUGH PILE OF SAND WHICH COULD BREAK YOUR SHOULDER IF YOU DID NOT DO A FLIP AT THE END. GOD, THOSE WERE SOME GREAT TIMES. 16:13

El Salvador's sea is amazing, one of the few seas in the world where I really don't think twice about going in, the temperature is perfect.

I recall swimming in the Pacific Ocean on the coast of Costa Rica at the black-sand beach at Playa Hermosa, and the water was wonderful. In contrast, every time that I have been to California, the water has been frigid and quite unpleasant. Many of the beaches are rocky in that Western state, too.

Was at Playa Hermosa in Manuel Antonio park in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 stunning beach cove 🏝️ . perfect. I spent hours in it with some friends.

Great idea to spend your last day exploring more of El Zonte. Really looks like a great beach. Could not have asked for better weather and the locals look very friendly. May not have been great body surfing waves, but the water looked so refreshing and inviting. This has been a wonderful introduction to El Salvador. Salude Cheers🍹😊❤
Get yourself a foldable drybag, just big enough to fit the backpack. Use it with a fine cord to attach it to yourself and use it as a buoy. For Safety you know. Then next step.. Design your logo to put on the drybag, find a wholesaler with printing service and the rest is history

Always leave your bag at a beach bar. All you have to do is be friendly and buy a cheap drink or food, they will keep it behind the bar while you swim or wander. El Salvador is a bit different than other countries. Security everywhere. If you are headed east to Nicaragua check out El cuco and the Tortuga's Verde resort
Loved the beach more with the bars and food. This is sandy but it seems like people.

It's the weekend, so where are all the people? The tourists? It ain't happening in El Salvador. I'm so glad you visited El Salvador, because I was going to go but El Salvador is too expensive compared to what I can get in other countries. I really liked how the President of El Salvador cleaned up the crime. But El Salvador needs to rebuild and offer better value to expats.

Gabe I stayed at Olas Permanente last month. I also stayed at Michanti up the block but also wanted to stay right on the water. I think it was around $100 on weekday but they always sellout on weekends. G

NOW is the best time to visit El Salvador. It's going through a very unique moment in it's history, and I am very happy for them. However, if the country stays on the track that it's on, this place will be gentrified and overrun with tourists in 5-10 years. There are downsides to success... I hope I can get down there in the next year or two while it's still unspoiled and raw.

El Salvador is mostly for surfers and on the weekends the locals from San Salvador fill up the beaches. For cheaper rooms there’s more options in El tunco.
Hi Gabriel, nice to relax before you get home to California that's one good thing about traveling to San Salvador it isn't far and the weather is beautiful according to travel stats Mexico is the second most visited place in the world. Good to get a quick trip in and relax before hitting the dentist.
Don't hit dentists, they might retaliate. (Also don't watch the film "Marathon man" before a dentist appointment.)

No sharks? No stinging jellyfish? No stonefish? If you want light sand, and safe beaches, Europe has the best beaches in the world in the Mediterranean, Aegean etc.

A lot of Mediterranean beaches are pebble beaches, not sand. But I still like them for the scenery. To this day the most beautiful beach I've seen was in Tulum, Mexico, before the brown seaweed invasion. It was the most beautiful fine white sand with bright turquoise water.

For the high prices and lower quality beaches, I would definitely head somewhere else first ie Costa Rica or Nicaragua.

That is my type of beach. You have the whole beach to yourself and there are none of those annoying beach vendors trying to sell you stuff all day long. The only negative I can see is that there are no beautiful women in bikinis to look at but you can't have everything.

hello , does your new camera float or not in the 💦 💦 water, because if it falls into choppy and dark water with 🌊 waves it will be impossible to find it , maybe you attach it to your wrist to secure your camera , it would be a shame to lose it, it produces good quality video images and i thing your camera it is not cheap to buy , hello from Monaco
It doesn't float but it's tied to my wrist with a wristband.

I think it's Tagalog, the language of the Philippines. In Spanish you say "como esta", which I guess sounds similar.
It seems El Salvador has potential. I think all the Bitcoin stuff is a bit gimmicky though. I was reading that almost no local El Salvadoreans use Bitcoin and don't care much about it.

Never dropped it, but I had a camera strap tied around my wrist just in case.
Use a waterproof pouch so you don’t have to leave your valuables on the beach.

I personally don't like El Zonte or El Tunco. There are better beaches such as Los Cobanos to the west or La Costa del Sol to the east.
