Since you’re back to ASOIAF you should do a video series on Maegor the Cruel and his wars against the Faith in the Faith Militant Uprising. There is so many interesting battles and events that transpired during his reign. And not many UA-camrs adequately cover that part of Westerosi history.
But is there enough about it to make a full video?

Don't understand why the freehold fell only cause the capital was destroyed. It's like the US would be destroyed if east coast was
It’s because the Freehold was a slave driven empire that was only really held together by Dragon Riding Aristocracy.
It was a combination of Valyria being the main seat of the dragonlords power, and as most of them were there, they mostly perished in the doom. The surviving dragonlords besides the Targaryens were eliminated as well in the following century. Plus all the knowledge and resources of Valyria were lost in the Doom

Great to return to ASOIAF, such an interesting universe! It’s cool how the free cities outlived their original progenitors, the Valyrian Freehold, and didn’t contain slavery like it did
The Free Cities are very interesting but some did have slavery. Mostly Lorath, Braavos and Pentos outlawed slavery :)
ah, i see thanks, it's been a while since I've read the books so I had forgotten. I recall Braavos outlawing slavery but not the others. I guess i assumed from the title "Free cities" they all outlawed slavery@@CivilizationEx
@@aamirrazak3467 lol yeah the Free Cities name is a bit misleading. I will talk about it more in the other parts but Pentos lost a war to Braavos and was forced to end slavery. The ancient Lorathi religion was all about equality so they never had it from the beginning.
@aamirrazak3467 the free cities part refers to thier independent rule not being directly governed by the Valirian Freehold Government witch itself is named after the Prctice of Democracy Limited to land owning free citizens.

Was just reading about the Free Cities for the first time today - this couldn't be more perfectly timed
How come the Valyrian Freehold is called "Free" when the only free city at the time was hidden Braavos?
They were considered Free because they were not directly governed by Valyria. They were part of the Freehold but could choose their own leaders and run their cities as they wished. So that was why they were "Free"
