  • The 2011 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is one of our favorite cars due to how much performance you get for the price. With a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 engine that's good for 451hp and 443 lbs-ft of torque, this car is roughly as fast as the exotics of this era, yet costs around 1/4 of the price. We've featured the 2011 C63 AMG with the P31 package on this channel before, so its definitely interesting to see how a normal 2011 C63 stacks up to it.

    I just bought a 2011 C63 AMG P31 with 53K clean bone stock with all service records in a binder for $22,500.

      Yes. Yes yes. Mercedes has slipped in quality control over the decades but generally the working parts are made to last, lest their reputation be tarnished. If anything, the switchgear feels cheap, but lasts. Maintenance can be expensive but replacing high quality parts is expensive.

      With the P31, the LSD was an option, whereas the P30, I believe the LSD was standard. My 2013 P31 does not have LSD.

    • @alexk5175
      @alexk5175 Рік тому

      @@kjdeutin Correct! :) The LSD used to be standard in the P30/prefacelift (until 2011) while it became an option in the P31/facelift (in and after 2011). What a lot of people forget or don't know is that the performance variants also have an additional oil-cooler in the right front of the car. Besides that the inlet manifold is painted in dark grey.

  • @sveeny
    @sveeny Рік тому

    06:10 it's actually not true that the Facelift has a Dual Clutch Transmission. It's called MCT (Multi Clutch Transmission) and is not at all a Dual Clutch. It's also quite reliable.
    12:18 it's also not true that the headbolt issue is a pre-facelift one. It's determined by your engine number. There are late pre-facelift cars that are out of the problematic number range. But you're definitely completely safe if you have a facelift. Then there's still the cam adjuster and lifter/cam lobe issues. I'd suggest a buyer to demand hearing a cold start (telling the seller to not drive the car and leave it completely cold until buyer arrives)! But over all still a reliable performance car.

These are special and the gas tank fills through the carburetor. Only race gas 80 octane. The holes are there to stash the owners manual and service record. Holes in the hood are just to show you where to cut for that tunnel ram intake that sticks up two feet above the hood. That adds -200 HP.
