I'm 100% with you on the dog phobia! To me, it's so weird that everyone gets along with dogs, because I've never been able to tolerate them. They're messy, can smell, are aggressive (friendly or not), they're loud, etc... They're just an embodiment of qualities I dislike in people, too. I do have a phobia of dogs, but I think it's their owners that make me really dislike them. Where I live, people rarely pick up their dog's poop, they let them bark all night long, they let their dogs jump up on strangers, and they bring them into places where they're not even allowed to be. You raise a great point about people being allergic to dogs, too. I hadn't even thought of that. I'm really sorry that happened to you. Having the dog owner be so dismissive would have made it 100 times worse for me. I would have cursed her out, and I'd get banned, not the dog. I know exactly how you feel about the noise at the end. I've barely slept the past three nights because my downstairs neighbors are horrible. My apartment is completely silent the whole morning, but maybe 3 in the afternoon until 3 in the morning is loud, because I'm poor, so I have not-so-good people living around me. Winter is quieter, but it's getting warmer out, so people are getting loud again. Great videos this week!

Really sorry to hear that. Not being able to sleep is torture, and I wish those people would be considerate of your need for rest. It's so hard when we can't choose where to live and have to put up with other's selfishness. Hopefully they will move out and you will get better neighbours. Have you ever complained about them?

@@welcome12ization Thanks for the kind words! I think the world is just noisy, so unless I suddenly become rich enough to move to the middle of nowhere (which I won't), I'm afraid I'm stuck with it. People, unfortunately, don't take noise complaints seriously where I live. Are you able to make complaints about the noises that bother you?

@@ShamrockNRoller Yeah it's hard. I have asked neighbours to let me know when they are going to make noise such as hammering etc. Luckily I have good neighbours who are generally quiet. I accept that sometimes they have to make noise, for example if repair work needs to be done. For me, if I know a noise will occur at such and such a time, I can put up with it a lot more easily, as I can ensure I am out of the flat, etc. My dad spoke to the neighbour who was hammering on my behalf, and luckily he was really understanding and polite, letting us know when he would next be hammering (thankfully only one more day), and the duration. Just having advance notice has reduced my nerves. So my neighbours are good neighbours, but must be so hard if you have neighbours who make unreasonable noise at all hours, particularly as flats are always more noisy, regardless of the neighbours you have.

I'm autistic and I have a phobia of dogs. I don't really like pets in general. I used to have a job at a "pet friendly" store and I would usually tell customers to keep their dogs at least 5 feet away from me so I could do my job. Most of the time this would work, but a couple of times the customers really got on my case about it.

That is rude of them! I would hate to work in a pet friendly store.

I have a dog phobia I reckon it could be linked with Autism. My issue is the unpredictable behaviour and also the loudness of the barking. I did briefly overcome the phobia but unfortunately a couple incidents happened which brought back on the phobia. First one was when someone was taking their dog out for a walk without a lead and the dog stood in front of me and started barking and wouldn’t let me pass. The other time I was carrying food and someone who was walking there dog obviously hungry went for the food I was carrying.

They don't sound pleasant experiences - not surprised they affected you. People should control their animals and not let them disrupt your day like that. Clearly they were not responsible dog owners. I personally think dog owners should be vetted before they can own an animal.

Agreed. I also think that dog-owners should have a licence to own a dog. I live in a flat in the town centre of my area and I have seen loads of people who own a dog who I don’t think should own a dog. I see people walk around with pitbulls without a lead and they can be vicious especially around children. Every time I see that it makes me angry.

@@jamieerwin8351 Do you live in America or UK? pitbulls are banned in the UK, although people still illegally own them, but I think they're legal in the US.

To answer your question I live in U.K. in Kent and yes they are brought illegally I have small ads in windows advertising Pitbulls.

Bummer. I’m in the allergic category - the intensely allergic - you can’t be more allergic, category. I have what might be called a dog paranoia because I can’t even be were they’ve been. It doesn’t matter if the dog is in the room or not, if they frequent a space, I can’t go there. A sign that says, “dog friendly” would let me know not to go in.
The odd thing is - dogs LOVE me. If a dog comes into a room full of people, I’m the first one they go to. When I hop up and move away so they can’t touch me, I look like a crazy person! They shouldn’t be living among us :)

Sounds really tough. Just goes to show why there needs to be dog free spaces, particularly in enclosed areas. I will certainly mention the needs of the allergic in my complaint/appeal.

lol, yes I read that book ages ago, was funny although not representative. Have you read it?

@@welcome12ization No, and I won't if not representative :) I'll go for The Hound of the Baskervilles instead, Sherlock is supposed to be on the spectrum lol. When I was a kid I saw a TV adaptation, I was so scared. I'm sorry you had to cry.
