Changing the fuel filter on the Ford Focus mk1 TDDI is an easy job if you know what to look for. There are 2 types of filters for these cars, one without a drain plug on the bottom and one with. Also you need to have 3 ports on the filter. I use MANN filters. Also the fuel filter change interval is 20 000-30 000 Km.
A dirty and clogged up fuel filter can reduce the performace of your car!
Tools needed:
-screw driver
-cloth
-hose + pump

Why didnt show us how to fill with gasol after replacement ?
Beacuse you need to fill it with diesel fuel? :D

It’s recommended to use a pump, or you can just suck on it.

what happens if my mechanic forgets to suck some fuel. can this be the cause of blocking of the engine? i got hard time starting the engine and then the engine died while i drive.
It happens... kinda what you described. Imagine sucking water trough a straw, first you suck air and then water.
You put in the description there is 2 filters for this vehicle. 1 with a drain plug and one without. Your old filter didn't have the water drain plug but you replaced it with a new filter with a drain plug. Can i ask why? Thanks

Can somebody help me.
My 2001 Focus 1.8 td di 66kw is loosing power. After mechanic replaced water amd gas hoses, my car feels like it is loaded with 1000 kilos.
I give full throttle, and it is accelerating so slow barelly hitting 3000 rpms. I changed oil and air filters, and its still same.
I cannot accelerate uphill, only in second and third gear, and before i could easly overtake cars uphill in fourth gear
Stick it on a diagnostic tool and check for codes.
@@N33sWorkshop it atarted as soon as mechanic replaces my gas hoses.. Could it be that they put tight hose amd enough gas cannot get thru

Probably the EGR valve has been stocking the manifold and thus preventing the air from going to the engine properly. Two weeks ago I tucked the EGR valve with a piece of sheet metal and cleaned the manifold with properly manifold spray cleaner. Immediately the torque returned to the engine and the car has a lot more power with lower RPMs.
