haha, i loathe country music, especially as it’s currently constituted. it’s more pop than anything else. i respect old country music, and if i ever decide to do myself in, it will be playing as i fade away, lol. i dearly love living though, so it’s metal for me, thank you. besides who would buy this amp to play country music on it? it’s like buying a ferrari to do the grocery shopping.

Revv is on another plane of existence. I never realized all the things I don’t like about a lot of amps until I played through the gen 100. Excited to see what else they can bring to the table
that thing is a masterpiece. i have a revv g-20 for my home studio and absolutely love it. it’s just clean and purple channels. but it sounds so good. they really know their stuff over at revv.
Def considering a Revv G-20. Seems super modern and convenient.

I have an HH strat with extremely hot humbucker size P90s in it from Rio Grande. I think I'll put one of these in the bridge. I don't have any humbuckers at all in any of my guitars because I'm a weirdo that plays heavy shit with single coils.

Love the generator series. The new generator 100r mk3 so far is my favorite amp of their new line as well as my favorite high gain amp period.
Thinking of selling my Mark V and getting the Gen 3.
Have you compared to a Diezel or Engl Savage or similar? I'm looking at some different amps.

I've only had a chance to mess around with the Helix version on their new update but what John was saying summed it up really well. It sounds polished and like something you'd hear on an album. It's a fucking nuts sounding amp. I've moved to using a preset with the red channel from any of the neural stuff cause of that exact reason.
I'm about to order one. I can't find one to try locally but between this and Ola's video, I think I'll trust it.

Interesting to see how amps are evolving with more capabilities and versatility to compete with amp simulators, it sounds amazing especially with those pickups. Awesome riffs like always, hands down my favourite guitar player, would you mind me asking what tuning you're in?

Little late to the party. If you haven't gotten your hands on this already. I have 100r (same amp, just without the purp channel) and it sounds absolutely stupid nice. The clean is just perfect, it's so crisp and clear. The crunch sounds like your classic marshall, I'd love to have a marshall for the name, but this sounds just as good as one in my opinion. The red channel is like a mesa rectifier, but sounds more compressed, the rectifiers tend to have this scooped mid sound I've found. The purple channel I haven't played through, but I've been told it's close to a 5150. Hope this answered your question :)

I can't quite afford to get the 120 watt four channel. Do you think the 100R can cover most of what one needs? If channel Green takes pedals well, I can always boost it or shape it with an OD.
its a FUCKING MONSTER. Absolutely perfect for metal.
This video helped inspire me to make the purchase for this amp along with a Revv 4x12 cab last year. I have to say it is probably the most versatile amp I'll ever own; Not just in tone, but in capability and functionality as well. Perfect studio amp, or even for live. It's basically an 11 channel amp with the extra aggression modes. You can save presets and assign different virtual cabs for each of the 11 channels/voicings you can play in. I play with an 8 and 9 string, so I just stick on an EQ pedal and overdrive going into the amp and that's all I've needed for any channel.

Do you find you can get some of the channels to sound really fat and saturated for leads? I used to play Bogners and Diezels for that day and saturated, forgiving lead tones.

I really think it's all about what you hook up to your amp to make it sound good but in this case this here revv has all the goods of pedal and e.q's you could think of all wrapped in it . ..
That's the only amp I would trade my ENGL for. Amazing!
