Thanks to everyone for listening. To say again, yes I have a self sustained neck injury from 2015. I’m currently trying to fix the problem but every test I’ve had so far has come back inconclusive with no sign of any problem. In the meantime just try and enjoy the tones as my neck doesn’t hurt....I just can’t move it :D

i figured you had an injury. its not the first time ive seen that. i had back issues from being in a helicopter and i had days where couldnt stand up. my neck was also fucked up pretty bad from having night vision attached to the front of my helmet with no rear counter weight. those injuries suck man. have you thought about seeing a chiropractor?
Dude McGuybro I’ve had 2 MRI scans and both have shown nothing for muscular or spinal issues. Only hurts when I jolt it, which I don’t do!

This sounds absolutely incredible. The overdrive is both really saturated, and pointy, at the same time it's got girth and body, while it's articulate and clear. Really hard to nail that combination and they've done it.
Only in the metal world would "Imagine being in a moshpit and being repeatedly getting kicked in the chest" be the greatest compliment ever. Dude this amp sounds amazing! Great review.
Probably the most accurate representation on this platform of how the Soldano amp sounds and feels “in room” even though it’s mic’d up. Most videos I have seen on UA-cam sound muddy or super flabby, never capturing its true sound. I just got the 100 version and it does feel like a mule hitting you in the chest at volume 1.5. Amazing amp, your 30 sounds just as good, great playing. Cheers 🍻
I always say that soldano is a combination or a plexi amp mixed together with a recto metal amp. Before my favourite tones was a metal amp and a Marshall, park.or plexi amp mixed. You get the perfect comb. But with soldano you got both there. And for lead. Maybe the best amp ever
The Mesa recto is a straight rip off of the SLO preamp. So the recto is a SLO with not as great of a power section

The Soldano SLO 100 has always been my dream amp, this has got to be the end all be all for me. But yeah, $2700 is a lot for me, but I’ve gotta do it

Great review!! Most reviews of this amp are all chug, which I don't do... but I did go ahead and buy the combo amp version so we'll see how it works for me in the coming weeks as I learn to dial it in, etc.

The bright switch does not affect the lead channel. It only affects the normal channel.
Imagine an a/b/Y setup for live with a Fryette Pitbull and a SLO 100. Thats how I imagine it should be.

This is a must have. I owned a Soldano Hot Rod 100 ten years ago and it was stellar. I always wanted the SLO100. This might be the best compromise!

My brother had the pleasure of trying his friend's Soldano SLO100 years ago, and I recently asked him if that tone stands up to the plethora of amazing modern amps we have today. He simply said "I know it's easy to think it's a dated amp, but you just need to plug into one and you'll never be the same".
Extremely bold claim I know, but I would LOVE to try a legendary SLO model (or even a Hot Rod and Avenger) one day.
This is the tone I hear when I'm playing guitar in my mind.

Monster loud amps. All SLO amps have this push loud sounds that are so epic. Having a good 100watt Fryette Powerstation with one is great.

Just wanted to say great job on this and all your videos. I was looking at the last couple amp demos that popped up in my feed and the general sound just really hit me in all of them. Guessing the magic part is just a real mic and cab, good preamp, good compressor, and walla - it sounds like you think it should, or at least closer to what you feel you hear in the room. So whatever you are doing, keep doing that.
No joke these demo videos are my guitar lessons. I watch John play for about 5 seconds, pause and imitate....watch another 5 seconds, pause and imitate...etc etc etc.
Smart way to do it. Might give that a try myself sometime. I don't have a guitar with me now, but any idea what kinda tuning he is using for this video? Just standard? Thanks

Soldano are awesome amps no doubt 1 of my favorite amps
I have a copy of a soldano amp hotone nano legacy captain sunset 5 watts the size of a Boss pedal fx loop 3 band eq awesome sounding distortion they have copies of a lot of amps Mesa Boogie many others
I know this is almost a year old but I have had a 35W Peavey Vypyr for 13-14 years. In all that time I have literally never gone past even 1.5 on the volume (about 8 o'clock). Not to mention it goes all the way to 13. Currently running it at .75 and turned the output down on the pedal going in the front. If I don't it is uncomfortably loud even under volume lvl 1!

Browne! Sounding killer man! I've noticed it seems like you are partial to that C-bomb/cold sweat combo. I was just wondering what it is about those pickups versus some of the other bkps that you've played (juggs, aftermaths, etc) that makes you turn to them. Cheers mate, hope your neck gets better.

You should try the Synergy Soldano module. Wonder if its anywhere close to this.
Maybe. I believe it would sound close. I think it would have less features. I'm not sure how much tubes are in the soldanos pre amp, but I know most of the preamps that Synergy have only have two tubes in it if I'm not mistaken.

They sound killer in a mix. Slice through like a knife through butter. The midrange on this amp is fine tuned for cutting through.
Have you ever tried Demeter amps ? I'd really like to hear how those sound...

Put a tung sol preamp tube in that Marshall valve state head before your demo video it makes a world of difference.

I have a soldano super lead 60 and I can attest to the ridiculous volume of soldanos. I once tried turning it up to see how it sounded loud and I got to about 4-4.5 and had to turn it down and lay down on the floor because the sheer volume made me start feeling sick, and that was from like 10 feet away in a basement
Also, this and the Pittbull are imo the best tones I've heard you get on your channel, and all that means for me is that I need to get a Pittbull
This really is my dream amp. I went with the Synergy stuff just for the SLO module and freakin LOVE It. I'd be curious to try the 30watt to compare it, but I think I'd still stick with the Synergy regardless since it's so flexible/easy.
I got the Synergy just for the SLO. I haven't regretted it for a second.
browne is the british version of a crazy florida man but with GEAR.
I own an original SLO100 : when you push the preamp gain, you push the volume too. So if you wanna go to high gain territory, at 7/8 o'clock on the gain, you can't go over 1 on the master. If you go further, you feel blood coming in ears. This amp is a beast.
I don't like the new one. The FX loop is better, but the EQ sucks. It's made for tight low end. I really prefer the EQ on the original one. It gives me some fat Rectifier tone from the 90's.
Nice video indeed. You just should have try the bright switch with the clean, not the dirty clean. It's so spanky that when you play without the pick, it sounds like Mark Knoplfer.
Hmmm... Mike Soldano swears that the amps are identical other than the new DC heaters, fx loop, and transformers.... looks like we’re going to need to see some pics of the guts.
@@snapascrew the transformers are not the same, the loop is not the same, the power of the preamp is not the same, and the EQ doesn't sound the same
