Well it was mainly George’s idea to bring him back to kinda explain how the Sith are so difficult to kill because of their philosophy “if I die I lose everything” making their desperation to stay alive much stronger than the Jedi
I don't think I had heard, or at least absorbed that point at the end that Obi-Wan had the same conversation with Maul that he did with Qui-Gon, but now I see it side-by-side I can see it is, barring how Qui-Gon said "he will bring balance" while Maul said "he will avenge us". But then maybe vengence is how Maul sees Balance from his lifetime of Darkness.
I always thought it was more about how empty Maul is at this point. He doesn't have anything to fight for, and noone to call upon, the very last thing he had was his goal of killing Kenobi. He even tries to summon his hatred, the one thing that he always had, but the voice acting really sells thag it's very tired and not fully there. After the fight he even confirms that when instead of wishing vengeance of Kenobi in his dying breath he hopes the Emperor pays for what he jas done to both of them. He learned nothing from all these years. But Kenobi has someone to protect, and he has the memory of Qui Gon. He used that time to grow and moved on forward from his soldier self, but also back to the teachings of his master. And that's why Maul looses, because unlike him Kenobi has something outside of this fight. And in his final moments Maul realizes what an empty shell of a man he is and all the abuse and horrors that led him here, and he finds solace knowing that the man who is really at fault will get his dues. And Kenobi cradles Maul's corpse and closes his eyes with care because he has grwon past seeing him as a despised enemy and instead understands Maul for what he truly is: another pitiable victim of the dark side.
But not because of hate... only to fulfil his mission as Luke's protector. Obi-Wan knew no-one could know of the children of Anakin. When Maul started piecing things together it was over for him. Love Sam Witwer!
God, the amount of respect I have for Sam has no bounds. I really hope he gets to play SOMEONE in live action. I wish it was Starkiller but just anyone would be amazing to me.
I want to hear Sam’s thoughts on Ezra telling Thrawn: “You think you can take whatever you want. Things you didn’t make, didn’t earn, things you don’t understand. You don’t deserve to have this art or Lothal.” I’ve hater Disney the whole time for not adhering to the 77-2012 Canon but when I heard Ezra say this it made me wonder if Filoni was saying this to Disney about Star Wars. I still see Filoni as a total hack and “just following orders” like KK or Feige but it makes me wonder if Filoni was at least half way on the side of the original Canon fans(actual fans vs Disney dans that accept Disney as canon) that don’t like what Disney is doing to SW.
It’s a shame Disney now can’t hire more employees and and actors that have this much knowledge about the characters in the show and are genuine fans of Star Wars instead the cast ppl that don’t know shit about Star Wars and care more about identity politics

Music is way too loud dude. Can't hear Sam talking
Sam Witwer is the GOAT
they should make him a writer
He's Hella underrated
u know when an actor understands the material
Bringing Maul into CW was one of the best decisions Dave Filoni did
Well it was mainly George’s idea to bring him back to kinda explain how the Sith are so difficult to kill because of their philosophy “if I die I lose everything” making their desperation to stay alive much stronger than the Jedi
Now that is LEGENDARY strory telling right there.
if Sam Witwer isn't a true SW fan, nobody is! this man is THE SW fan... love him!!!
This is how you know when a person really understands their sources
Give this man a movie ! His passion for star wars, his talent is AMAZING ! ..
Pre-disney

It's 2024 right now and I just realized it's the mirror of qui gon jinn's death.
Holy crap, that's true. Qui gon says balance and Darth maul's rational is an eye for an eye.
Very nice edit of what he was saying with footage of the fight. Great job.
Such a brilliant explanation
Sam Witwer is truly the goat

Bro, the way he put that, he's not fighting. He's not a fighter but he will end the conflict if he has to, bars.
To quote George Luca "It's like poetry it rhymes."
The MOMENT Maul threatened Luke, Obi-Wan KNEW that Maul had to DIE
But not because of hate... only to fulfil his mission as Luke's protector.
Obi-Wan knew no-one could know of the children of Anakin. When Maul started piecing things together it was over for him.
Love Sam Witwer!
See, the people who made twin suns is who you give the job of making the next star wars movie.
Best duel in all Star Wars
Truly poetic. Good job on the edits
The fan we don't deserve but will be praised
Sam witwer voicing over the scene is freaking amazing.
Literally didn't even know about this fight, damn. ❤
give rebels a watch. season 3 and season 4 make it all worth it
This isn't the most spectacular duel, or the most elaborate
But it's hands down, the best one
0:52 sick editing
thanks! wasnt hard to do with Sam's amazing descriptions and literal movements!
All the years since that fight I never saw the level of additional depth until just now.
This why i love tbis man
this is beaitiful. thanks
Love to see Sam in the Kenobi series somehow
Would love to see James Arnold Taylor as well since he did an amazing job on Clone wars and Rebels
@@DanEcho yes!!!!
We must protect this man at all costs….

God, the amount of respect I have for Sam has no bounds. I really hope he gets to play SOMEONE in live action. I wish it was Starkiller but just anyone would be amazing to me.
Deleted scene: After Maul died, Obi-Wan cut off his head just to be sure.
Damn this was fantastic
Sam Witwer is truly amazing.
@@DanEcho FR I love him
This is the importance of media literacy that most "fans" lack these days.
Wow did not notice that
This Was Awesome,I
Love Sam Witwer,I wish he did Starwars film's,ok scratch that, Disney would destroy It. This was great editing my friend
Thanks. maybe they'll bring him in as a cameo but not as a main. maybe an alien cause starkiller is literally based on Sam
@@DanEcho Yeah I agree,an Alien,cause his face is Starkiller literally .
I just watched this episode with my Dad I explained the Different poses and what they meant
its not Sam Witwer...... IS STARKILLER!💥
But he was not feeling merciful with Anakin. Such arc! WOW!
Kota should be proud!!!
Clone Wars is the better show in general, but holy fuck this scene alone is one of the greatest pieces of fiction ever
It feels like he's real Galeb Marek

Maul fought the wrong jedi master.

Those biceps😍😍😍
😳
Dear Sam, please write, directed and play in a star wars movie
Spiderman
spiderman
wish they can keep actors like sam rather than hire those from the acolyte
Ah yes this is the show with bad writing and no substance just cameos and kiddy crap
Spiderman
