My Husband and I met back in high school, he had a sexy brand new 2006 GMC Envoy.. I experienced my first EVERYTHING in that thing lol.. We use to do all this and more with it lol.. I refused to let him sell it back when the time came.. Too many memories.. I still daily drive it in winters
I have a 2004 Envoy with a 2 inch Redi-lift kit and a set of 31inch Goodyear Silent Armour tires. In 4wd with the G80 locking rear diff, I'm able to get through plenty of terrain like this video. It may not be an off-road Jeep, but it is a capable trail vehicle and I use it in the back country very often. I've yet to get it stuck, but then I use common sense when choosing where to drive. In terms of an all purpose highway/off highway vehicle this is my favorite vehicle.
The engine from the GMC Envoy is Vortec 4200 inline 6 cylinder produces 275 horsepower and 275 foot pounds of torque and a 4 speed automatic transmission and low gear selection. The standard 2002-2004 GMC Envoy has a 22 gallon fuel tank. XUV and XL models has a 25 gallon fuel tank 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway.
The engine is a Vortec 4200 inline 6 cylinder that puts out 275 horsepower and 275 foot pounds of torque and a 4 speed automatic transmission the engine could push the envoy at 120 mph top speed.
My mom had a 2004 loaded to max long wheel base. I loved that thing. I used to accompany her to other state trips and that thing was so smooth i would fall asleep. Very capable in the snow. She had issues with the Ac lines rusting. Otherwise the car was a tank. She got a ford tauros after cop style the. A ford explorer that just hit 100k and has been nothing but trouble after 100k. She us swapping it with a brand new aviator. Me in the other hand i drive toyotas lol no problems
My Envoy does great! Has the 4 drive options (2wd, Automatic 4WD, 4x4HI, and 4x4LO), these options are coupled with my stock Eaton G80 M-Locker locking differentials, dang thing climbs all over the place.
@JacquesRoberts Definitely wrong. The Envoy Denali maybe came in AWD config but my 04 SLT is a true 4x4. It does have an auto setting but also has 4hi 4lo and a locking diff in the back..
Emissions that's why. People said the same thing about the inline 6 when it came out saying the 4.3 was better. The new 4.3 is an awesome engine. So is the inline 6.
G80 is an RPO code with is the gm lock positraction then you have you gear ratios as well gq1 gt4 gt5 gu4 gu5 gu6 hc4 gu3 so an g80 with a gu4 code amazing
I've got the same exact vehicle. Wht the heck are you abusing it like that?!!? This is a luxury S.U.V........not some off road Jeep! Mine did fantastic in the 2+ feet of snow we had this winter in N.J.........that's the extent of me "pushing" her. Shame....they're such nice trucks!

The GMC Envoy 4X4 has 4 modes of the 4 wheel drive selector switch including 2HI,Auto 4WD,4HI, and 4LO.
i would feel pretty sketched out driving mine through that water...
Cool man, keep the 4.2 vortecs coming
The tires have the main and effective effect,I liked it
The GMC Envoy has the same chassis as the Chevrolet Trailblazer for Generation 2 for General Motors from 2002 to 2004.

The 2nd Generation GMC Envoy 4X4 is introduced in 2002 to 2009.
I bought a 2002 Trailblazer LTZ recently and still get to know the ins and outs of her... How do I know if she has a G80 rear differential?
Look In your glove box at the build sticker. It will list it there. If it has it
@@drewsayle Thank you, I'll have a look...

@f35bamf Alright my bad, My envoy is only AWD.Wish I had a 4x4 now that you say that
These aren`t 4x4 vehicles, they`re RWD or AWD, and there is a difference between AWD and 4x4.
*** G80 with a gt5 works amazing
Amen dude I barely have to use my 4x4 that g80 rips. Didn't know I had it until I did my rear pinion seal and looked up the diff fluid requirements.
