I use a dryer sheet as a tray. Open it and lay it on the table, dump drills onto it, fold it over, and roll the drills around a little. Then I use the sheet as a funnel to pour the drills into the storage. Once I roll them around, the static is gone so they funnel quite nicely!
me too! This is the best way, It ensures that every diamond touches the sheet. That's all it takes--contact on both sides of the diamonds to stop the static. The dryer sheet makes a perfect little funnel.
Hi Rebecca, great to see you back, thanks for a great mammoth kitting up video I can’t wait to see the finished mini paintings, tumble drier sheets are the best for static i don’t use anything else I keep a box in my kitting up kit box. I won’t be participating in the June event but I will be diamond Painting so hopefully I can post my finished paintings in the group for everyone to see and see everyone else’s paintings. Happy diamond painting xx 💎💜💎
I had a little bit of a laugh while watching. I kitted up my mystery painting for June waffle earlier and encountered the same static issues as you are having, Rebecca 😂
Wow that was a mammoth task, if I had done a video kitting up that much static it would be full of bleeps 😂 Really looking forward to June.. I think I have finally made up my mind what I'm doing... Last yr I started a custom of my late hubby, I wasn't used to doing squares back then also I wasn't happy with the colours. I got quite upset trying to work on it too... well I'm going to get it finished during the June waffle... I love doing squares now and also realise that custom paintings always look wrong until they are complete 😊💚🤞
I think doing it over the course of 2-3 days saved the bleeps. Lots of breaks to calm down. I love what you're going to work on. Small steps and try to save the face until last. It might help with the process.
When you have just a few drills left in the bag cut the bag open and THEN use your wet finger to retrieve the remaining drills , toss the bag. I'm glad you stuck with it on camera because i'm a beginner and need to see each step in detail. Thanks from Vancouver Washington USA.
Hi Rebecca, thanks for another great kitting up video. I watched the first half of the video last night, then got up today and pulled out my last PaintGem kit to prepare while watching you. I also had static problems and used the dryer sheet as a funnel, like some folks here described. You mentioned possibly working directly from the bags, I believe that would have been very very frustrating with the static. Good job getting three kits done in less than three hours! I will be doing normal diamond paintings for the first half of the month for the WIP and waffle, and bringing my PaintGem kit (all in 1 little box) on a cruise at the end of the month to do when I can find a few minutes here and there!
I'm going to try some other ways of working with dryer sheets on my other kits I need to kit up. Determined to find a good way to do it, but didn't have the patience while doing these.
When they are long like that with a huge space in between, I suggest you approach it a bit differently. You can run it through the label maker together, but then with a ruler gently slice down the symbol side to separate it from the gap and the DMC number...then you can pull it up and line it closer to the DMC number overtop the white bit. It will still be sticky, but will just have a small bit where the paper is 2 layers thick. Simplest and quickest way to condense the details to make them fit on a smaller area.
Hi Rebecca. Gee that was a long video today. Thanks for hanging in there though.. those naughty drills just didn't want to leave their bags hey.!!!. Thankyou for all the advice and support you give on your channel. It is very much appreciated. Take care until next time. 😊❤
When I run across all that static I put a dryer sheet on the table then I open the bag on two sides then put dryer sheet on top of the cut bags then put in a tray they will slide off nicely
I am sooo glad u have said that the staticky drills are a sign of the better quality drills as it gives me hope to get thro them kitting up. At least ur not ending up wearing them like I did when I was trying to kit up one of my DAS kits 😳🥴🙄😂😂😂
Watching you with those labels sent me off the planet with frustration lol. I put a large white label on the bottle or square box type, write the symbol l.h.side and the dmc on the r.h.side IN PENCIL, when finished the painting, i just erase them off and they're ready for the next d.p. then the little bits of eraser rubber falls onto the desk, i scoop up and put in bin.
Thank you Rebecca for a long kitting up. I appriciate it. And have lots off fun with the june waffle. I try to work on my big (80x120) custom painting every day to have a moment for myself. Something I saw another UA-camr doing was with the wide labels. First she cut off the symbols and that row off symbols she taped them with double sided tape next to the dmc code. After that she runs the legend through the Xyron sticker maker. I hope you understand what I was telling.
I am going to join you in the June waffle. I am going to work on 2 HAED. Total stitch between them is 99,300. I will have to complete 3,310 drill every day. Also I will be using the decision wheel to tell me which painting to work on for the day. I am really excited to work on them. The first is mini angels lost wings, it’s a black and white. The second one is QS Genevieve, it’s has 90 colors. I will post pictures on the group. bring on the waffle. Thanks
Even though I start a new job mid june, I will be participating in my 1st ever waffle. I have 5 diamond painting ordered. Four are John Sloane and the 5th is a nature scene of a buck and doe for husband. Cant wait.
yay! Can't wait for the June waffle to start. I would have liked to do the same paintings as you but I already completed those paint gems in May during my week long vacation at Cocoa Beach. They were the perfect little portable paintings to pack. I did the space, and the floral editions that week. In light of all the events I want to participate in June I decided to divide my #summerwiththemasters canvas into 30 to do along with you. It's called Flowers in a Crytstal Vase by Edouard Manet. It's a 45 x60 round from Uniquely yours down under. I will probably not be able to complete each section with you--I'd guess I'll need 15 or 20 minutes more everyday. The confetti in my painting is kinda crazy. Actually those little paint gems paintings took me about an hour to hour15 each so we are in for some longer waffles with you! I look forward to it. I am all kitted up in my Add more Zest trays--I'm ready to go!
For static drills in any type of bag, I cut a 2 inch/5cm square out of a new dryer sheet. I wrap it around the end of my finger and rub the inside of the whole little bag with my covered finger. This usually ends up touching all the drills quite effectively and they all slide out nicely not needing a little dryer sheet again. With full bags, I pour out easily most of the drills into my pot and just rub the inside of the bag with a square of dryer sheet for the static drills left inside the bag. Remember to always use a new dryer sheet and not a used one. One new little square works for kitting up a whole diamond painting. I did my mini PaintGem set this way.
💜🎥😀 For the static, I find that if I put my finger in the bag with the dryer sheet and rub the dryer sheet on the diamond that work better then putting only the dryer sheet. That save me lot of time when kitting up a Diamond Painting. And most of the time I will remove static for all the bag fisrt and after I kits up my DP.
Static is removed when it touches glass, the solution is to keep your diamonds in glass, or simply stir with a glass rod, a glass drinkstraw for example in the plastic bag and its gone.
I kitted up my paintgems today after leaving them in the freezer on Saturday (after watching you struggle) didn’t help. Seems dryer sheets are the only solution and even that isn’t perfect!!
@@addmorezest they may not be cheap but they last forever. I mention one, and have a link for one, in my kitting up video of Hope Springs Eternal. My hubby has had his anti-static gun for years.
The static in those bags was unbelievable, I’d have got really mad with it so we’ll done for maintaining your dignity ! I great video though and I stuck with it all the way through!
Hi there, love what you’re doing with your organization. What is sticker maker and where can I get one and the clear labels. I also would like to know what you made your trash container from. This craft is addictive so bad. I feel like a gambler spending all this money on diamond painting. 😂😊
Welcome to the addiction, The sticker maker is from Xyron and the trash container is a tissue box (they can be found on Ali Express). I have links to loads of my favourite items here: addmorezest.com/favourites
Do you have the little scent beads in the UK. I've started using the Downy unscented ones. I pop one little bead into a pot or bag of diamonds and just leave it there until I dekit. No more static. You can use 2-3 for giant bags if need be. Using the beads saved me time from cutting strips of dryer sheets and finding some way to store the used ones. Anyway, it's a different solution that works. I tried the scented ones, but they were too much for my allergies to botanicals.
Hi I started diamond painting 5 years but had to stop 2 years ago after having my baby and haven’t had the chance to start again till now coz my little one was not a very good sleeper but now after 2 years she has just started sleeping through the night just wounding where is the best place to get them coz 5 years ago they were really bad on ail express x
That was the definition of riding the struggle bus for you. Your patience is amazing. I'm looking forward to the June waffle. I will miss 3 or 4 days in the beginning as I'm going out of town for a wedding, but I'll pick back up when I return. I'm just going to working on paintings that the wheel picks for me. If its a small one and I finish early, I'll go to the next. But this is going to be great fun!!! Thank you so much for sharing!

Fantastic idea, thank you from Midland Texas
I use baby wipes has same effect as dryer sheets but 1 it washes them 2 nonallergic reaction
Yes I do that also. And put a small piece of the dryer sheet in the storage box also.
Think u I'm going to try this ❤
⚾️. Awesome example of patience!!! Lol
Thank you for the entertainment with the static drills!!! It was hillarius 😂😂😂

Watching while in the caravan. Im working on Randal Spangler Customised bookshelf. Enjoy kitting up vids most but the static pain is real! Tfs.

Also next time, the Xyron stickers could be taken off one strip and put right next to the other from being re positional keeping the order easier.
Nice job, but I don’t use dryer sheets any more. I huff a breath into the bag, seal, and shake the bag. Much easier.
I'm doing a 30 x 30 horses head in round . And also doing first big one to along side as I started it that's a 70 by 50 in square of mum and cubs xx
But congratulations with your exemplary workmanship on this video. ❤
the double-decker individual pots are quite a bit bigger 🙂

My hubby has a static gun that he's used on my drills before if they're really staticky and it works a dream.

could you tell me where you bought your machine for your labels please
I was gifted it, but I have a link to it here so that you know what to search shops/websites near you for: addmorezest.com/favourites/tools
I ordered them, the exchange rate was better, you are a great enabler lolololo (I used your coupon code)
When you set up a larger painting, what paper are you using when you section the areas to work on?? Itlooks heavier than parchment paper!
I use cover paper (also called release paper). We sell it in our shop here: addmorezest.com/shop/p/cover-paper
I’m new to diamond painting. I know what a wip is, but what is a waffle? Thank you.
A waffle is just like a chat.

Empty bags into tray w/dyer sheet then pour into storage
Another question; what is the size of the pipe foam you use? Like the outer diameter.
I use anything from 1inch to 3 inches. Depends on what is in stock. 😂

hi rebbca how are u doing today or night threre why dont u use a tray tho
I don't understand why you are tossing the baggies. Can't you keep them for leftover drills when you are done??
I put the left overs in my spare storage which already had bags. I can only save so many things.
I Like your trash container. May I ask what is it?
It is a box for tissue paper originally
@@ina290 It is beautiful!
It's a tissue box, repurposed as a bin because it's pretty.
Why does the flower set have two of the same symbol??? ((W))
I'm not sure, I guess it was an error when charting, but at least they're different colours.
I thought I made a mistake!!!
Way too time consuming !!! I actually like the static because some of the drills just hop on to the placer!!

What exactly do you mean by "waffle"? in diamond painting? You use the word a lot.
Waffle means chatting, usually in a vague or trivial manner.

why u dont use a tray
I do for diamond painting, but not for kitting up as many fall outside the tray area, it's easy to scoop any up from my desk.
