With Johnny...just got up there and winged it and had FUN. After all, isn't that what True Rock is all about? It was a privilege to sing with my bro's. we were family. I dare U critical, jealous SOB's to do what I did with no rehearsal! Thx to uz kids who stuck up for me.... Ur brilliant for Getting IT! LUV, Arthur's Babzi Doll
Oh stop...Barbara is Arthur's widowed wife, and she is great on this number. Johnny, and Arthur were the originators of the NEW YORK DOLLS...They put the band together in NYC. Sylvain came up with the name, and they all had a big part in the formation, and sound as a band. So lets celebrate the music. It was, and still is revolutionary.
When talking about the best rock n roll guitarist, I can't think of one I'd rather have than Johnny Thunders. He just plays with so much raw attitude and soul that it's hard to think of a better one. I'm not talking about being technically gifted, just pure rock n roll. A few I can think of that play with the same attitude are Keith Richards and Chuck Berry, but give me Thunders.
I need to speak up and inform U all of the truth... I am the blonde onstage singing w/ JT... I m Arthur's widow , Barbara . He didn't throw me out the window. He was raging drunk and threw himself out the window cause the cops were breaking down the door and he didn't want to go to jail. His excuse was..." I was aiming for the pool but I missed..." He LUVED me and I LUVED him but it was star-crossed. He saw David on TV that day and raged into a drunken stuper. About the show... I never rehears
i was at this show and its the only time at the Roxy I wasn't at the stage. You guys were great. It was great fun! I loved it and can remember it like it was only last night. Thanx babe.
Couldn't agree more. I think one of the biggest tragedies in the history of R&R is that the original Dolls never reunited. So many owe them. The version of the Dolls that exists today is OK, but it's too little, too late whereas before it was too much too soon. RIP Johnny, Jerry, and Arthur.
After all the three Doll's playing here have overcome, I'm so proud of JT, Nolan and Kane for giving such an awesome performance, and only wish I was there to witness this. And it's too bad Dave and Sylvain couldn't make it 'cause it would of been perfect.
I beg to disagree Dan. I like the deep , ferocious voice of hers. It doesn't always need to be perfect . It's rock n roll. The art of just going up there and fighting to the death. I would
You know, Im 24 years old and my mom raised me on the Sex Pistols , New York Dolls, DeaD Kennedys, and NOBODY my age where Im from knows who the New York Dolls are
Johnny is probaly not too interested in making lots of money, very uderrated and influential to alot of punk rock guitarist especially like Steve Jones of sex pistols. Still alot of people dont know who he is today..yeah heroin is a terrible addcition, but he couldve been murdered, who knows when youre dealing w/heavy drugs..when he puts on his Gibson Les Paul junior it became a machine gun..an american orignal
Gene Short I have no idea actually, all I know is that one story about the knife incident. I believe she was his girlfriend at the time, but thats it. Hopefully she's doing alright :) Btw, I recommend the movie about Arthur Kane, called "New York Doll" from 2005. Check it out!
Aleksander Ness If we trust what's on the Arthur Kane wikipedia page, (haven't really cared enough to validate) it says that Connie dated Dee Dee Ramone after Arthur and had a similar violent relationship. I've seen an ad for that movie. Looked interesting, I'll take your recommendation and go find it.
@gamesfrontiers I think you might be missing out on a lot of music if TALENT is a requirement for you. I mean, truly think about it. It may sound absurd, but.. Nobody wants to sit there and watch Jimi Hendrix play his guitar crazy good for 40 minutes EVERY SINGLE TIME they want to experience music. People who put together simple songs have a talent too. I mean, get with it. Come on.

Lucky girl wish that was me you done good rip Arthur, johnny and jerry
I wish I could have done that. It must have been great being onstage and part of that scene! I wish the best for you.
You’re the blonde hottie singing with Johnny? Wow! Great job!
Real rock & roll, accept no substitute!
there will never be another Johnny thunders again he was irreplaceable
You got it!
One of best punk rock songs ever made. Thanks Johnny!
My favorite of Johnny's.
Blasting guitars 👀
Love it! Very cool to see Barbara on stage too! I
I saw him perform twice live, with Wayne Kramer from the MC5 in a band called Gang War, incredible. Did all of his and Wayne's classics....
Saw him with The Heartbreakers at Max's twice around 1979-80. I was all of 14 and it blew my mind.
nice to see arthur kane up there. also nice to see JT on his game and having a good time enjoying the audience.

Only Johnny Ramone is with Johnny Thunders.

What about Poison Ivy?
I saw him & heartbreaker 3 times at max's.& academy of music.

don't fuck with the ghost of Johnny Thunders!
..., who I deeply regret never seeing perform live. Seriously, one of the few on my life list, and I'll never see him.
What a great r'n'r guitar player he was!
This video blows me away everytime,!
i was at this show and its the only time at the Roxy I wasn't at the stage. You guys were great. It was great fun! I loved it and can remember it like it was only last night. Thanx babe.
I was there and it was great
i love this song born too loose
Sad He's Gone
No one like this guy, ok Andy Mc
the one & only legendary thunders..
This makes more sense to me than what I'd read about it.
Happy Birthday Johnny.
Ah Johnny, we miss you so very much. x

You're right. Just looked inside the sleeve of the DVD, and it's Barbara. I must have mixed them.
Very cool, thx for this!

riff machine
Alas, I got an original copy, 1977 no lies, & I tead " Born tOO lOOse". Johnny ain't no loser. Looser! Sure he was !
It's just rock n roll but I like it
It’s mad really because after 87/88 you never really hear 👂 Johnny playing Chinese rocks or born to loose
Pam from True Blood on background vocals.
and this ones for all you English ! C'mon Italia ❤️
born tOO lOOse is the tittle of the song, look at LAMF ' sleeve. He was not a loser!
In 77, the majority of so called rock fans, agreed with you. Punks refered to them as BORING OLD FARTS.
He's my alter ego
we use to do song
indeed :)
this is the theme song for the Skate 3 trailer
Born Too Lose, he says,
@GrahamWasConfident is barbara kane wife of arthur kane
i think its arthur kanes wife
mark so either way she can't sing
bby I’m born 2 lose

Barry Jones (Idols / London Cowboys)
to txmcxix...good luck!! you'll still never be as good as JT!!
he clearly says "too loose"
I know, I just used the name from the cover. Most people know it as "Born to lose" anyway.
I said HIT IT

Who is this girl
Born tOO lOOse, buddy, it's the original & true tittle. Cool people perhaps wanted Johnny to be a loser , but sorry, he was not, despite you.
So is the blonde on stage the one that cut Arthur's hand in the 70's, or is that a different one?
"The blonde on stage" was infact Arthur's Wife, Barbara. She was not the one to cut his hand in 74/75. :)
Good. Thanks!
Aleksander Ness Just read up and educated myself on Barbara vs Connie. I wonder what Connie is up to these days.
Gene Short I have no idea actually, all I know is that one story about the knife incident. I believe she was his girlfriend at the time, but thats it. Hopefully she's doing alright :)

Nah, it's Alison Gordy.
Чикса жжот.
What an immensely stupid comment.
Who's the ornament? Completely unnecessary.
