I played with a guy who played with Walter, though, many years later, 2003 or so, in a Jug band, so, not quite the same thing, but he an old punker, and, his take, was, Walt held he hold thing together, obvious to some of us, now, Johnny was a genius...but a mess. But Kudos to Walt! Love to them all. RIP. We'll keep jamming your tunes, brothers.
I toured with Thunders in 86 - before the show, they rolled their Toyota Tarago on the way to Adelaide to meet up with us there - Jerry Nolan (Drummer) broke his collarbone but scored enough smack to knock out a horse and played that night in a sling! Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols was on bass and one of the nicest guys in Punk Rock N Roll. I was just 18-19 at the time and for some reason thought it was a great idea when they asked if I wanted to ride in their replacement Tarago from Adelaide to Sydney with them instead of my bands cramped tour panel van- so I did! I mean surely they can't roll their van twice.. and they didn't...
Walter Lure, what a soldier. Him and Jerry kept the boat steady. Like Motorhead all the original Heartbreakers are gone but never forgotten.
Johnny Thunders RIP.

This recording of the song was on a live album from the 80’s. Can’t remember the name though.
