Mr Thunders is a drastically underrated guitarist. He had a good understanding of what cool rock and roll sounds like...
seeing the riff broken down like this really shows you how influential Thunders was for hardcore punk guitar, at least some of the earlier stuff. good video and thanks for teaching how to play!
Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear that the video helped.
Thanks ! I played bass for Thunders for a couple of gigs back in 1986. Always wanted to learn that guitar part (intro and solos) and never did until now. Much appreciated :-)
No problem! That’s very cool that you got to play with him.
How was he to work with?
For those of us who taught ourselves to play by copying easy Ramones-like punk songs. Johnny thunders represents the next step in learning and skill. At least it was for me.
Great video!
Absolutely! And you can get pretty far by just learning the trick Johnny Thunders used.
Lol the guitar is crazy i dont play it where yoy do but its exacly the same hahah love tour work
Thanks!
Obrigado pela aula Mestre, aqui no Brasil não tem ninguém pra ensinar, parece que só tem eu de fã do Johnny. Abraços
No problem! Glad the lesson helped. Thanks for watching.
Tem nós dois só kkkkkkkk
Thanks for all the help, I think some numbers in the tab are wrong but you play well just a comment, and thanks!! Love your channel
Thanks! I'll take a look. I think I might have switched a number by accident.
Your lessons are perfectly paced. I like how you show the tabs and the little nuanced things.
Thanks again!
I love this album! This is some punk Chuck Berry and it's amazing. Love the videos!
Thanks! Yep. So much Chuck Berry influence and so much great guitar playing on that record.
Not punk, rock 'n' roll...
Made my week finding this channel
Rad! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for all the help learning guitar.
I’m way faster learning your weekly lessons 👍
Awesome! Really glad to hear that!
Oh my God plz do more thunders just like this! I know so many of the basic riffs but I need the leads explained.
Will do, thanks for watching!
Great detail love this one
Thanks for watching!
A lesson is not giving one shit as you play.. still Great lesson. Thank you.
That’s a big part of it!
@ScottGuitar listen to Keith Richard's talk about some of his guitar heroes same things...nice work. Appreciate you putting this out.
@@jasoncabral8732 Totally. They are cut from the same cloth.
Awesome!!! Thank you for this you Rock man !!
Thanks! Totally welcome!
My pinky is fucking useless but im getting there. Thanks for the JT lesson!
No problem! Keep at it!
Having trouble with the bends but I’ll think I’ll get it eventually
Keep working at it. You will get it.
Pure unadulterated Rocknroll
Private World unless you already did it. So is this song in the key of B? Cuz I see an F# chord
Haven't done it, I'll add it to the list. Thanks for the request!
I'm struggling with the Walter Lure part in the chorus 4:04, are you doing anything special while playing to change the sound? Because when I play the part on the D string, the sound is completely different from yours, and no, I am not out of tune.
Nothing special there. If you'd like, you can email me a quick video of your playing on that part and I can let you know if I see anything. scott.k.obrien@gmail.com
@@ScottGuitar I may do that. thanks
All by myself please
Coming soon...
anyone here from skate 3?
☝️
Don’t really understand why you’re making life more difficult for yourself with the intro. Why not use middle finger fifth fret A string and ring finger fifth fret on the D string, then take off the middle finger leaving the index finger on the fourth fret? Sounds the same, and it’s easier to pick.
Of course the MAIN ingredient not mentioned; attitude.
Absolutely! JT had plenty of that.
That's "Too LOOSE"
