That’s for the warning about the Alamo. Will be there in 2 weeks for the half marathon but I’m also planning on going to LBJ’s ranch, which unfortunately you can’t currently tour because it’s the home is structurally compromised, but I want to visit the home of every President and LBJ National Historic site is the only LBJ home I know of.
Chris!!! I am already booked for Gettysburg 160 as well!!!! I was just in Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry and Antietam for Antietam 160 in September. I loved it so much I had to go back for Gettysburg 160. I'll be camping like 15 minutes outside of town. I'm so excited for it!
@@JohnReedy07163 Yeah I’m a little closer than that. Wish the roads here were more straight like the Midwest (or that there were more bridges across the river but 2 h isn’t bad.
I have zero confederate ancestors but that is mostly do to like 5 of my great grandparents descending from immigrants and the remaining 3 lines hailing from northern states for many generations. In fact, I have only two lines that go back to the south… one a slave owner immigrant from germany and another more closely related ancestor who likely descended from slaves. Veterans in each war though.
I think it would be really interesting to hear your take on the civil war generals ranking on thersities the historians account. Much different take on grant
Have you ever toured the USS Texas or any of the Iowa Class Battleship floating museums or reacted to any of the stories about those ships? There are a couple of youtube channels that have relatively short videos on these. (The Fat Electrician is my favorite however he has some bad language in the videos and a strong American bias however they are really funny to my sense of humor). Edit: I made this comment before you mentioned the USS Texas in the video. I would love to see a video on that ship.
Glad to hear you weren't affected by the railroad issue! Wish I could've caught it live, was just a liiiiiittle too late.
I loved The Crossing. Another great view of Manhattan is from Roosevelt Island.
Harpers Ferry and San Jacinto are 2 of my favorite places. Those are both fantastic

I can’t get over watching you drink your Mountain Dew out of that can.
Mountain Dew missed a chance with that create the name poll they did. Some great names that they just scrapped.
I was curious at first what you were talking about, but yeah, you're right...
As a Texan, I can agree that the Alamo is quite small. But I think every Texan should visit the Alamo. I’ve been there twice and loved it both times.
Plus there’s so much history in San Antonio. From the cathedrals to the Alamo and all the old cemeteries. So much history!

For traveling the world, I would says that mid 40's is really early to start considering most would be lucky to be able to travel after they retire :P
