    I bought a ASI BAC 855 kit programmed by a major dealer, and my problem with his methods was that he swears that he "bench tested it" and everything was fine. After installing it and trying to ride my BBSHD bike with it, it was completely unusable. Wrong voltage, wrong wattage, and as soon as I hit the throttle with actual body weight on the bike, it would just shut down with error 21h being displayed. I believe "bench testing" should only be a first step, followed by actual rider testing over rigorous terrain before ever releasing to a customer. It is great to have your channel around with such expert level information. Cheers.

      Oh yeah, there are lots of sellers out there who only get the motor spinning on the bench and think "this is good enough" and forget about EVERYTHING ELSE... Its pretty frustrating...
      We've spent 10 loooong months days and nights, taking these bikes for lots of rides road and proper off-road, give the bikes to pro-riders and ask them to ride it the hardest and push the thermal limits... so far we shipped nearly 100 kits and I would say 95% or more were perfect plug and play and only a few guys had minor issues but not directly related to our kit but something on their bike's electrical wiring, we still helped with troubleshooting just to show that we are very confident that all kits we sent are tested (we record videos testing every single kit). =]

    Nice work guys! You've convinced me that EBMX has really done due diligence and gone the extra mile to tune these controllers at a granular level. It explains why so many are relaying that the x-9000 has such smooth throttle mapping and why I just bought one :)

    Is it true that the eggrider adds a 'delay' to the tune? I have read that there is a difference between a 'direct' tune on the BAC and an 'overwriting' tune with the eggrider. I prefer the eggrider look over the other displays, but I want to be able to utilize the best tune with all the bac parameters.

    As someone interested in the new Sur Ron S model that is hitting dealers next month, I would love to hear you guys break down what the actual differences are between the X model and S models motor. As of right now I can't find ANY info on them and keep coming across different opinions if they are the exact same or they are not. As someone who sees the S model as a great cheaper alternative to get onto a Surron and then Upgrade it. No point in paying the full price of the X model if your gonna just end up getting rid of practically everything on the bike except the motor and frame. Cheers good job guys keep up the great work.

    If you guys can program voltage switching into the display unit, you're onto a winner. I'm sure i'm not alone in wanting to use a 72v primary battery but retain the stock 60v as a range extension if the fun factor starts overtaking the reality of ride time
    I'm not sure if there are any spare output wires, but having an optional beeper attachment would also be a great idea with programmable voltage presets to have an audible beep pattern when it crosses below a certain threshold. I.e. when at 35% capacity put out 3 short beeps, 25% 1 long and 2 short beeps, at 15% give 3 long beeps. Personally if i'm on a nice flowing piece of single track, i'm not stopping to look at the battery or display I just want to keep it going. I know i'd appreciate having an audible alert to help me better gauge when to turn back

    • @EBMXtreme
      @EBMXtreme  3 роки тому

      Hey Aidan, good points mate! We are currently working on the voltage switching issues. We are building an app that will allow users with our controllers and kits to switch between voltages, tunes and change a select few key settings (power, regen, amps…). This app is going to be a total game changer for the whole world! Keep your eye on this space and we are pressing as fast as we can to complete this project. The noise to tell you battery level might be a tricky one… The CZEM Drill One bikes have a sound that is emitted when changing power modes that is quite loud when you are sitting on the bike, not moving and just changing the mode… however when you are riding and change between modes you can’t hear it at all!... the point being, unless you get a speaker or very very loud beeper you won’t hear the sound and then might be worse off than if you had in the back of your mind you need to check the voltage screen very now and again to see where you are at.

    • @aidangillett5396
      @aidangillett5396 3 роки тому

      @@EBMXtreme that's a fair point. Real world practical problems are often not found until actually trialed. I suspect the frequency of the beep would play an impact. I've never ridden a CZEM bike so wouldn't know
      I had a temperature alarm on my KTM300 as I did a lot of low speed exploring through brush. The temps were taken off the radiator and alert were through the Trailtech speedo unit I installed which had an amber light for mid-temp, a red for high temp and it would blink for excessive temp which I tuned to give me about 30 seconds notice before the radiator started to boil over. I also added a beeper and it was definitely noticeable and saved myself from ever losing any coolant as if it hit critical and I saw an opening I could hammer it and get airflow over the radiators (surprisingly effective at how much it cools the radiators, it hands down beats just stopping and waiting) or if I was in a jam i'd stop and 9/10 times avoid a boil-over
      I envisioned something similar for the battery capacity. If I could notice it over an infernal combusion engine I imagine it should be noticeable on an e-bike
      That's another point: Add a blinking red LED for temperature alerts :D
      If a beeper can't be fitted, a separate blinking amber LED for battery capacity may not be a bad idea, with an option to cancel the alarm via a button press
      I don't know what sort of pinouts are available to work with. But there are pre-made blinking LED lights readily available that only require a constant voltage. A simple signal output with common ground should be a fairly simple thing to implement on the software side

    is adjusting hall sensor board needed on your setup or asi? i know that is needed on nucular 24f, adjusting the hall board sensor clockwise or anticlockwise to bring it close to 0 degree to get the controller and motor to the max performance.
