      Yeah, honestly, if you were stealing from a royals grave in other civilizations of the time it was probably brutal torture or execution. just getting your hands cut off and being beaten with a stick. honestly seems somewhat tame considering you get to keep your life. You may be permanently incapacitated in a way but you still get to walk away alive for breaking a serious law

      Being tied to a murder victim is strangely tame and seems silly...some murders might like that, just saying. But you're probably comparing them to Europe in medieval times? That was a long time later if you're talking ancient Egypt vs say the 1300s...
      But they actually are more brutal than Hebrews were, though definitely lax vs some other Paegan societies. Depending on when in Egypt this pertains to, seems to be across the ancient span of their history. Of course Rome was pretty bad in some ways and South America was one of the worst though that wasn't necessarily for punishment vs just their culture.
      Can't forget that cutting off one's nose and/or hands in ancient Egypt could amount to death... It's just you'd be lonely and perhaps unable to scratch an itch yourself etc while you die.
      Like most ancient societies they had unique advancements but also maybe not quite as advanced as we give credit for.

    • @ari3lz3pp
      @ari3lz3pp 6 місяців тому +18

      @@Justdance59767That's true! I didn't think of that. But it was for only 3 days they said? I suppose if you can't eat or drink also during that time, can't get warm etc that's pretty bad too. Still seems super lax vs their other punishments LOL 🙈 Backwards a bit. Though they were trying to give punishment that fit the crime which is interesting.
      Also they were still more brutal than other ancient cultures, or somewhere in the middle perhaps. Hebrews being the most tame I've studied. Very into early law and order, they didn't get as creative as others like Egyptians.

      @محمودمحمد-ص1ت4ت 10 місяців тому

      Egypt is located in northeastern Africa. A large portion of it is located in Asia. Egypt is an African-Asian country. It is a country in the Middle East. Most of its people live in northern Egypt, specifically in the Delta. All this will tell you that we are closer to the Mediterranean Sea and the Levant. Well, the Egyptians and Greeks were similar to each other. Look at the statue of the seated scribe and the statue of Ra’hotep and his wife, both of which were made before the pyramids were built. Look for the statues of Ramesses II, Khafre, Nefertiti, Horemheb, and other statues. Search for the mummy of Ramesses II, Yuya, Tuya, Teti and Tuthmosis IV. Scientists examined Tutankhamun's DNA and found that it was 70% of men in Britain and 60% of men in France. And 40% of Spanish men share the same DNA, so Egypt was closer to Europe than you might think. . Africans have migrated to Egypt in large numbers in the last 300 years, so current Egyptians are blacker than ancient Egyptians. And yes, the Crete civilization (Minoan civilization) used to color men red and women white, just as the Egyptians did, and this civilization had a great relationship with Egypt. Type (pictures of the Minoan civilization) in Google, which is the ancient civilization of Crete. Search for Fayum portraits, which are pictures of Egyptians in central Egypt.
