Harriet and I enjoy our time in Nagano . We were there 7 years ago. Stunning. The Togakushi Folk Museum/Ninja House and Togakushi Shrine Kuzuryusha were favorites of ours. I was the one that braved the dark tunnel at Okaiden Meguri . I'm 6 Ft. Harriet passed on it. Tight spaces are not her thing. Thank you so much for bringing back some memorable moments on our trip. As always, Great video , so beautifully done. Sending you much love ❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Loved this one!! You guys look like you had so much fun going to the sake tasting and out into the countryside. I really don't remember the 98' Olympics because at that time I was trying to set up a business and it was taking up my days. Great video as always!!
Dear Samuel & Audrey, thank you so much for sharing your stories. I’m going to Japan for the third time in September and I’m making a Japan alps trip. Your ideas were perfect! Greetings Bianca 🇳🇱
Hi Samuel & Audrey, I’m watching this as I’m planning a day trip to Nagano in a couple of weeks. Those noodles look amazing! Do you by any chance remember the name of the restaurant? Also, love the video and the effort that went into making it! Very informative!
Great info. Is it possible to find ouit where you had the soba and tempura lunch after the temple visit? We are visiting in December and that place looks perfect for the guests we will have with us. Thank you.
Saludos Audrey y Samuel.
Just loving your clips of Japan and your enjoyment of the country. Bit upset when you said the Winter Olympics was '98...The last time Scotland qualified for the World Cup...I feel old...I was blown away by the Autumn Colours x
Ahhhh... you missed Zenkoji Temple Unjoden. Just behind Zenkoji... a bit of a walk, but SO worth it - particularly in spring. Here, you can see the story (inside) of the relic that was brought to Zenkoji in pictorial form on the walls. BUT - it is only open on certain times and you need to ask to enter. The other place you need to visit is Omenajo - the butterfly castle on top of the mountain nearby. There is a secret walking trail that I have taken for years (it's a bit of a hike away from town) but I had an autobike, so it was easy. It takes you (if you take the 'usual' road) up there to the abandoned road that is fenced off when (on the way up) you have to turn right on the zig-zag road to reach the temple. However, there is a way to get into the abandon road on the way up and a pedestrian way through the fence at the top. It passes through bamboo forests and beautiful view on the way up of the mountains to the east. But, no one really knows about this. It's a shame that the 'furugia san' shops have closed down (second hand or house clearance shops) as I bought SO much from them before for little but the quality remains high. The oldest hotel on the main street (on the right as you walk up to Zenkoji) was the only building that remained standing after the early 1900s earthquake and you can go in and see the iron vaults there. Nagano is a maze of wonders. I hope that your clip encourages more to come!
Guys, I don't know why, but I always want to tell my stories by seeing your videos. When our favorite Audrey was looking at acorns, I remembered the story of how, as a child, on the stump of an oak tree, we children decided to detonate large-caliber. shells at the neighboring shooting range. They were very easy to find in the nearby forest, as this is the largest shooting range in Russia in the Leningrad region. As a result of the explosion, 1 guy's hand was torn off, and 2 guys lost several fingers. When we greeted a guy who had his right hand torn off, and he handed over his left, we always joked what was wrong with your right hand, we were very kind children.😂😘
Love your videos guys !!! Keep up the great work! Your japan videos are really helpful, since I‘m planing my itinerary currently!! Everything really looks amazing! Currently I‘m struggling if i should visit Toyama or Nagano! Both really looks amazing but I can only fit in one desitination🥹🥹

It's cool to Lear about lesser known areas of Japan. I forgot about the 1988 Olympics, it is hard to believe it was nearly 40 years ago!
Correction, hear.
Second correction, 30 years ago.

You guys missed out by not eating the Oyaki on Zenkoji street. That is by far the best snack in all of Japan

Nagano's ``Shinshu soba'' is delicious.
本場でお蕎麦が食べたくなりました。天ぷらも美味しそう!!
お蕎麦が美味しかったです!私たちは日本食が恋しいです。😊🍜🍤
Great video as always guys. Would you say Olympic museum was a must-see? You didn't really comment if you thought it was worth it.
Alrighty!

Hey Sam, what was your experience when you made it through the dark tunnel ?
Which exact dates were you guys there? Which month was it
長野県人です。長野の動画を上げて頂きありがとうございます。『obuse」に行かれましたか?栗菓子が有名でとても美味しいですよ
Cuando van a volver los videos con Daniel en Córdoba. Saludos familia.
I don't blame the wife, I want to keep a far proximity from bears as well.
Hey guys, what's the name of the soba and tempura place you ate at?
