He seems like a good kid. I think the only reason people have an issue with his rebranding attempts is because he's doing it with the intent to be famous and people can clearly see through it. Whereas if he actually took the craft seriously of whatever new thing he's getting into and stuck with it then I think everyone would eventually get on board and respect it. Like if he stuck with making beats, didn't care about being seen, and popped out 3 years later really good at it he'd be fine
If he's putting in the effort why wouldn't he want it to be known by people? he's also still popular enough to still have word be spread.

It's almost like he committed to a craft for the short-term just to regain his buzz, people saw through it, and he moved on to the next thing. If he was truly doing it to get better at said craft then he'd stick with it regardless of peoples' opinions, instead of just moving on to the next thing any time he gets clowned. In general, people respect authenticity and work ethic. I think that's the difference between people who have a viral moment and sustain it vs those who don't.

I went to high school with Russel. I even had a financial literacy class with him. I didn’t know him that well outside of the fact he was a niche celebrity, but he was from what I could tell a genuine dude. I mean we had a projects in the class we had to do as groups that I think he did really well on and he treated the people around him with respect. I didn’t feel like the fame he received affected the way he treated others. Anytime I spoke to him during the class I never felt like he was belittling me or anyone else. Both our lives are just starting and judging from the way he was taking the class it didn’t feel like he planned on being the backpack kid into his 20s, I’m gonna be honest.

Growing up, I never really cared for the backpack kid being that he’s a year older than me when he blew up but he comes up on my for you page on Tik Tok all the time, and he seems to be a pretty humble and wise person. Anyone that sees his videos now knows that he’s well aware of his 15 seconds of fame being over and he’s just starting over. He still makes content but he also works an actual job and a lot of his TikTok videos are just him talking about real life experiences and just staying positive to all the hate he continues to get especially from people making fun of him for working a job now.

And his mother could continue supporting him follow his dreams while being fiscally responsible, maybe hiring a financial advisor.
