FINALLY! Someone does something with roofs/walls that are slanted. Now if you'll excuse me I'm headed to the shop. Oh yes, thank you.
Great video! This is giving me some great cabinet ideas for our converted attic bedroom! All 4 walls are vaulted so this will be a great starting point for cabinets, shelves and desk space.
A woman who can wield the tools is to be greatly admired. A woman who can do it left handed is a Goddess! All power to you - I wouldn't mind having you as a neighbour! I've got loads of jobs I need doing. I have a name for people like you. Mould-breakers.
I must start training my left hand to be more useful. I need to be a Goddess!
Sandra, You already are a goddess!
I want mine built inside the knee wall, Great job
I am not sure which I like most about your videos:
The progress of the projects, or, the progress of your color changing hair.
LOL! You're hilarious! :)
Doing something similar… this helped me think it all through! Thanks 4 posting
Looks awesome, Sandra! Great progress.
Creating a heap of useful storage! Great stuff!!
This is great. I have angled ceiling in my son's (soon to be dad here) closet. I was looking for a way to build a cabinet in there. thank you for the tips and great idea. Your work is amazing.
+SEEtheREPLAY Thanks!
Those are great, Sandra. I'm a huge fan of "adjusting" and "I'll figure that out later". :>)
+Steve Collins Oh yeah. That's 70% of how I do it. :-)
you have been making great progress. cant wait to see how you go around with the crown. well keep up the great craftsmanship.
Wow! What an excellent job. Great idea!
Thank you for Inspiring me!!! Great Job
Excellent project, very well done....
Notch the Crown around the 5" trim is one option or you can run a small cleat to match the 5" trim all around the cabinets to build out the ceiling so that the crown is flat against the molding or 5" molding and not the ceiling itself. Of course it does not have to be 5" but 3/4" would work maybe 2" or something. Use a 1 x 6 or 1 x 8 cut 2 or 3 times to make the trim for around the cabinets. You can miter the edge to fit close to the face if you want but the Crown will cover that gap anyways... Cheers...
It's coming out great ....that's going to be one sweet craft room....
great job Sandra looking forward to the update.
Awesome video! To the point, short but still awesome/useful details!
Looking good. I like the idea of using caulk behind the moulding!
+Robin Lewis Thanks. I think the caulk trick definitely helps.
Great job, and I loved your explanations. You’ve got a new subscriber!!
Very cool, looks great! I'd love to do this in an attic space!
+Got Wood Workshop Thanks. It's a great use of the attic space. I'm glad I have it.
Thank You so much!!! This was exactly the video i needed to create my Cabinets
The room is coming along great Sandra !
+The ShavingWood Workshop Thanks. It's definitely starting to.
Well done, very nice work, looking very professional! I wish my wife would make something like that 😄
I am not working in construction industry and have a very little knowledge. Doing only some occasional diy projects at home and learning at the same something new. I planning to buy a wardrobe from IKEA for our loft room and will need to make a clean cut from those parts because we have slope on the roof/ceiling something similar as you had in the video. So would like to ask you please if you would be able to share your knowledge how can I measure that slope on the ceiling and make a clean cut. Because I was cutting earlier some wood with circular saw and cut not every time were nice and clean on one or the other side. Thanks in advance 🙏
This mobile was of high quality. Congratulations. I liked it a lot and will be a great inspiration for my work.
+Marcelo Rezende Thanks.
you are amazing Sara - thanks !
Brilliant! New sub.
Hi Sandra, great job.
Congrats.
ZACCARO
Girl I’m over here struggling to hand a picture to the wall 😩😩 I wish I was this crafty
Well I didn't start here. :-) I've been trying and failing and learning for a couple decades now. Fist bump- you got this!
HI Sandra,
Love your video !
I'm new to this and planning to build some cabinets in a corner (angled walls - 60% angle). Ceiling is flat.
Would you be kind enough to share some tips on how to do this and what would I need - tools/ measuring.
Really excited about my first proper DIY !
Cheers
Puneet
you are amazing! I wish I had your skills!
+whimsicalendeavors Thanks. Just years of practice to build the skills. You can do it!
so great
it is a wonderful work..
I like it
+Amr Megahed Thank you.
How did you like using the Rockler corner clamps for the cabinet assembly?
Good job with the build !
Eric
+The Poplar Shop I love them. They work great!
Well done
Great job! It's hard to find info on working with a slanted roof. What tool are you using to cut out the spot for the outlet?
That's an oscillating multi tool. Very useful.
Great job but being an electrician I would have put another plug just above the ones you have. I'm saying this think I'm going to put that to use in my garage :) .Cant wait to see the finished job
You make it look so easy! Jealous of those Festool goodies! :-)
+TheGuiltyDave I worked hard to save up for them. I love my Kapex and track saw. Wouldn't want to work without them.
+Sandra Powell aka {Sawdust Girl} Definitely need to get myself a Track Saw! Look forward to the next vid :-)
Love it!
+Randy Stuart Thanks!
so which of your to saws it better and creates less dust the festool or the DeWalt we see at arrohnd 0:35?
Did you bevel the front edge of the top cleats on the track saw ,and how did you determine the blade angle ? Great looking cabinets I must say ☺
I can't remember and I can't tell from the video. But if I did, I would have done it on the table saw. Probably would have held the cleat in place and traced the angle with a pencil. Then lined the blade up with that.
"Scooch" lol
Nice job, it's coming together beautifully
+Paul Meyette Thanks!
I remembered right after that I had seen the end product on instagram. Looks great
Lookin good
hey! nice video. one question i wanted a angled wardrobe a bit bigger than your one but im guessing it would be the same sort of style. how would i put sliding doors on that?
I would imagine you could do larger wardrobe cabinets in the same way. Sliding doors can be done in so many different ways -- you'll have to do some research and decide how you want to tackle them.
Nice job,
Hi Brian. Hey how would you go around the crown. 1. notch the crown or notch the 1x5 to accept the crown. or 2. pre make the crown wraps. then attach then run straight pieces with coped ends ?
personally I think I would make a three sided wrap see what it looks like.
I agree with the last one Jeffery!
I like the part where she came to my house and helped me do this, lol.
Nice!
enjoyed. I have. a dream to make something of a knee wall space.
Very nice video. Why leave you a space between the table and the lower shelve ? Thnaks
That's knee space. If people sit at the counter, there is room for knees.
What about insulation to keep the storage from being warm or frozen while along the roof?
What wood did you use...looks like Elliotts pine?
Wow you go girl
Quick question! How tall is the highest slope?
What did you use to install the face frame ?
Impressive
L’m still trying to figure out how you found the angle of the wall the cabinet was up against. L’m trying to build something similar but don’t know how to calculate the angle as well as the Dimensions. Can anyone give me some tips
measure the height of the furthest point (where back of cabinet will be) and the height of the closest point (front of cabinet). Mark those two heights on the front edge and back edge of your board. Front point will be higher, back point will be lower. Draw a line from point to point, and that Line will be the angle you can cut along
Use an angle finder or two scraps of wood to template the angle. Then lay that template on a piece of plywood and cut a test "side" to make sure it'll fit. And test it in multiple places in case your ceiling is imperfect.
what fancy tools are these?
What type of wood are you using?
so i was wondering what if i wear to just build the cabnits and pushed thecabnits into the wall without making a frame since my cabnits will be on the follor of my attic
I'm not exactly sure what you mean about "making a frame"
So you made all of it out of plywood except the one long shelf, which should have been plywood??
+thedge7 I used MDF for that shelf because I wanted it to be smooth on both the top and bottom. I used sanded plywood for all the other cabinet parts because only one side was ever exposed. The non sanded side of that plywood is pretty rough so I didn't want to use it for a shelf.
What's the total cost of material
what type of saw is that called?
wery good
Beautiful room. Oh how I wish I had this room for a sewing room. Have watched all your videos. You are awesome. Wish I was that talented.
There's something about a girl who knows what she's doing...
omg i need a wife like you
She's hot.
There are many similar projects in Woodglut's plans.
