- Amazing what a year will do. Signed to Columbia during their awkward transition phase out of the purely primal Pacific Northwest sound to the sophisticated pop multi layered extravaganza of Good Thing is pretty remarkable. Woody Allen’s blundering introduction, calling them Paul Revere's Raiders, must have stayed a bad joke for many years. In this song one can pick out all of the various influences, a catalog that would include The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Harper’s Bizarre and many others. By this time, the band was probably using a lot of studio musicians to perfect their recording. Eventually that would lead to What’s It Gonna Be (Him or Me) that used very few of the actual members.

The first Seattle sound
Actually it was probably The Fabulous Wailers At The Castle, a live album. And they were actually from Seattle, I believe, whereas Paul Revere & The Raiders were originally from Idaho of all places.
Mark Lindsey at his hottest!
