- Trying out the EQ From Hell Pro from Master Effects. It's basically to replace the Furman PQ3 that was used by Dimebag for his tone.
DISCLAIMER: This pedal was sent to me from Master Effects but it gets sent back after demo has been made. When brands send me stuff they have absolutely no saying in how I make or what I say in my videos. It's not a sponsored video.

HELLO!
HOLA OLA
Ola!🤘🤘🤘
Henlo!
clean those linear and rotary potentiometers with contact cleaner; rub it around some, twist it, push it
Hey Ola. I wanted your opinion on something. I know it's not intended to be as this, but how would you deal to use something like a Mooer GE300, using full cab sim and IR, through a combo amplifier, simply using the input plug of it. Guitar -> GE300 -> Fender combo amp ? :p Can it chug ? Challengeable ? :p
The massive hiss really makes it sound like 1992
Yeah, where’s the Rocktron Hush?
I love eq pedals but just hate the hiss they make.,even the good ones
@@pedrolourenco2707 Caline CP-81 version 3.0 does not make noise.
@@pedrolourenco2707 A high gain amp boosted into even higher gain by 2 EQ pedals is bound to make a lot of hiss regardless. A lot of frequencies that produce hiss will get boosted. That's why noisegates are a thing.
@@chaptermasterpedrokantor1623
In this case a noise gate pedal won't help much.
You get silence in the pauses, but the hiss overlapping the sound is really on your face all the time.
Shoutout to LambChopper, that has been testing these eqs and coming up with crazy tones on his channel too!
Thanks mate 🙏🏻 I’m just stoked to see Master Effects get recognition for all their work. Thanks for testing shit Ola 🤘🏻
@@LambChopper678 love your channel!
@@LambChopper678 I bought this pedal because of your video.
Love your channel lambchopper! I bought the Master Effects EQFH based off of your demos! Thanks!
LambChopper was the original OLA. He deserved to blow up. Phenomenal talent at dialing up tones. Its kind of scary how easily he can do it!
A noise gate has never been more needed 😂
Run this in 4cm with a gate like the NS2 and the noise is gone.
Seems legit to me. Read somewhere that Dime’s guitar was barely controllable, with all the noise, hiss and feedback coming through because everything was driving the amps like mad. He was just a master of controlling the madness 🤘
No tubes in that amp either. That MXR didn't used to have a power plug, so back in the day you had to remember to change the battery before every show. A lesson I never really learned when I was playing shows in the '70s. Ola is like the librarian of the "Sounds of Dimebag Museum". Thanks!
Bro, thanks again for everything you do to help keep Dimes legacy alive and well, im definitely gonna grab one of these pedals, not sure how it will sound playing my LTD ESP EX-50 trough it, but imma find out. chug a lug baby, thanks again, your the man.
DIME IS STILL KING
This was sorely needed, prices on PQ3s (even broken ones) have been mental for a while now. Excellent addition to the market.
Hasta me acordé la primera vez que vi a Pantera en 1997. 🤘🏼.Eres grande,Ola. Saludos desde 🇲🇽🌶️.
Picked up the Cross pedal recently from ME. Great sounding pedal, really nice guy, worth the wait.
My favourite Ola video till now !
It would be awesome to hear a back to back comparison of the EQFH and PQ4, with a Dime guitar and noise gate would be excellent also
If I'm not mistaken Dime use to use a flanger as a filter to make the tone a bit creamier as well. I read it in a guitar mag back in the late 90s.
That was for his solos. At least that’s what I was told. haha
Ola is amazing player! You will be the next legend!
It almost sounds like a wah pedal that’s been engaged and rolled back a little bit, but stationary. It has that slight quack to it. I like it!
I was thinking the exact same thing
You should make more green guitars. That color is sick.
Sounds killer ! Preachers of Death , my favorite Ola Riff !
Respect to all the youtubers who try but I've never heard anyone cover the songs and sound of Dime like Ola does, cheers from Vancouver,. Canada. Ola, Ed
Man I love Master Effects, I'm glad to see them represented here. I use their Marauder pedal as my main tone, which is a pedal clone of the old tealstripe Peavey Bandit 112/Supreme 160. Classic Black & Death metal in a pedal
Thats a great pedal
Like ever, Great job Ola. I looking forward to get my first solar guitar soon and all gear again. Sucess always to you. Cheers from brazil, soon Glasgow. Amazing video. 👏👏👏👏🎶🏴🇧🇷
I ordered that guitar and can't wait for it mam. Hearing it in this video makes me want to fast forward time.
Very much needed🤟
Wow! Sounds pretty incredible
Ola playing around with Dimebag tones? Instant click for me
No Tubes were harmed, exploited or abused during the filming of this episode.
OLA you are a true Humanitarian......SKAAL.
Always love hearing Preachers of Death, what a riff! 🤘🏼
Good demo for sure, as always when Ola plays Dimebag-stuff!
I think Dime would use a completely different rig nowadays than he used in the '90s. That tone was kinda OK, but the Pantera studio albums became legends not because of the guitarsound but for the overall musical picture. He loved the tightness of his solid state amps and kinda trolled everyone when asking him about using valve amps. I personally prefer his Reinventing the Steel sound to the earlier ones. Would be really interesting to see what he would chose now, maybe he would swap for a modern high-gain tube amp, who knows!
Wasn't he doing that hi-gain tube amp thingy with Krank?
Sounds great, I would use a noise gate in your signal chain.
Idk if it’s just me but the hiss makes it sound more dimebag. Idk what it is.
Gotta love the Dimebag sound
Nice to see you using a master effects
djeez... this is what they created a noisegate for ;)
That sounds awesome!
Great haaaaaasssssssshhhhhhhhhssssshhhhhhhhhh tone right there 😂😂😂😂.
Anyway, love the solar (I want a 7 strings one !!!) but maybe with one of your DimeGuitars ir have been way mooore awesome video.
Aaaand yes, there is the Dimebag punch and presence with that eq. A really powerful tool.
Makes me laugh when people who aren't a fan of Dime/his tone post negative comments on a video that's obviously about him. If you're not a fan, just move on...
That's not how the internet works
Brutal! RIP Dime 🪦 BTG from Texas 🥃
Oh nice, I saw lamb chopper demo this the other day... I'm gonna have to get one 🤟
Very goood!!Nice!
Could play with the lead tone forever! \m/
Love that guitar in the dime slime Green 🤘
Hell yeah 🤘🏻
That “UH! UH! UH! UH!” Killed me 😂😂😂😂
Man that guitar is fucking sick Ola..
Exactly the same tone amazing ! just need a noise gate to cut that hiss 🤘
I’m convinced that Ola is a Viking that travelled to the future to bring metal to his people
Sounds brutal
Where is your noise gate Ola? Sounds like some one like Hoover is on at background Man :) Huge Dime sound as always, love it!!
OK, You TOTALLY threw a monkey wrench in the pedal-saving strategy I had going on. I searched on Sweetwater and Andertons to find this pedal and put on my "wishlist" but it's not out there. There is a wait to get this pedal, a couple of weeks. But I think this is a great pedal, especially through the fx loop. You can tell as soon as you turn it on you have more frequencies, more rounded sound. I wanted to get one just in case this guy/person stops making them. So I am $249 down on my savings for the new Headrush Prime. Where would I be without you Ola? DIMEBAG for PRESIDENT!! I wish!
Back in the early eighties, Stryper used the Furman parametric into a Marshall combo, which was slaved into a Boogie power amp. Although their message was silly, they had ungodly tone for the era.
Good Morning Ola .
Lambchopper now Ola:)
I could play with that all day aye
it actually reminds me more of the old Exhoder albums more than Dime's tone tbh but that could be the settings
Cool!
Same MXR 6 Band that Tom Sholz used for that Boston sound. Looks like about the same settings too…
Except for the huh huh huh lol😂 love your videos
Hey Ola. Holy shit that green X is one sexy bedst. It's almost a shame that you didn't A/B it with the real Furman, now that you actually have it in your possession. 😊
Actually... what would happen if you double-tracked the Dimebag tone with ...And Justice For All tone? Would that work?
I think you'd create a singularity in space-time :D
It would either sound heavenly or completely dogshit
It would tear a hole in our galaxy and suck us all into a black hole
Master Effects is probably super busy. 4-6 weeks build time. Everyone wants their pedals. The EQFH, the Vulgar pedal, the PMEQ Master of Puppets, The Martyr pedal Death, Meshuggah.
Had to watch this twice to stalk that guitar 💚💚💚💯🔥🔥🔥
Sounds like one of those white noise generators outside of a room that people don't want to be heard in.😂😂
i use my furman pq3 in the loop of any amp when im recording, to shape the tone to what im looking for... not just for pantera sounds... i will give this pedal a try someday
Hell
YES
Wow i like that Guitar 😈🆗💪🎸🎉I want that guitar😊
You should do a video that is the closest you can get to Dimes tone, with gear you can buy new today.
I thought the graphic went in the front and the para was in the loop?
A real good guitar sound benefits from some feedback. Underutilised factor in modern recording.
Would love the know the settings on the AMP and EQ from hell
I watched this video!
So is there like a bad capacitor in the old eq pedal that makes it noisy? Is it a part that can be replaced, solder in a new capacitor type thing?
Great vid Ola! I dropped a review on the pedal as well on my channel. Dime for life 🤘
I really recommend the affordable GUP TECH Parametric EQ for 125$ canadian . Hand made and very well maid 🤘👽🤘
My MXR ten band eq really dials in my tone. I don’t even use any of the gain on it either
Everyone assumes dimes tone was scooped, but it takes like 2 minutes of actually thinking about it to realize his boosted his mids instead.
Yep, the scooped tone came from post production in the studio, his live tone was pretty middy, thats how he got his tone to be so grindy
I think it would be cool if you had your complete dimebag tone chasing rig as well as a “functioning rig” of sorts. Use this pedal as well as the newer mxr eq to cut down noise and boost reliability. Just my 2 cents.
Smiley face and arrow up are the only two settings there are for a graphic eq.
Would love to run a baritone, 7, 8, or even 9 through that tone
Nice
I’m curious about how or why it works to cut certain frequencies with one pedal just to boost them with another.
I think the best way to imagine it is that you’re boosting what’s being cut so it makes a different sound
So like a cut frequency is gonna sound different than it usually would, but boosting the cut frequency it makes something kinda unique
Rock you yeahhhhhhh
Great video Ola is jet lag gone now ?🎸🍺😀
Hey Ola! That German store where you bought your RGT100 Tube full stack also has a RGT100 combo version. If you're interested I can take a couple of pictures and hook you up with my friend who works there.
🤘
Ola have you demoed the crybaby from hell? I get super tight crunchy tones with it, mainly use it as a boost to just tighten things up it definitely has a dime sound to it
Vad coolt. Kunde du inte spelat på någon av washburn gurorna för det där lilla extra 😂👍
you should do a pt ii with it in the loop.
Does anyone know what amplifier Dime was using in that video when he did the promotional clinic back in the 90’s? I know it was Randall but it seemed to be more chunky in that video than usual. Maybe it is because it was being filmed on a video camera but I swear it sounded soooo pissed off!
Why didn’t he use a Boss NS-2 like dimebag did, it would have greatly helped with the feedback
DIME IS KING
I learned this hack from Jean Patton on amplitube 5, not to get Dime's tone, just to find mine!
Please do a review on Neural Amp Modeler
fuck man, spot on!
I know a dude that's been making these pedals for years. I personally have the PQ3 that I run through a Century 200 also in pedal platform. He can also reproduce the very sought after MXR doubler. That's my next purchase. Very decently priced I might add.
Where can I get one?
How you like it? I got a century 170 mk2
I love it. Sounds even better with 6l6s poweri g it
Try putting on some noicegate to put out the feedback sounds🤘
Definitely got dat dime tone but know let's here dem fingers son!!!!!
Haha can't wait for the SUPER TURBO EQFH PRO 2
🤘🤘

great thailand trend kill
YES!
Yeah
About to plug his merch and realizes he's wearing a 66Samus shirt lol
