Mamoun’s is great. I had no idea they had that many locations. I remember going to the St. Marks one when it was a small hole in the hole & to the newer larger location a few doors down. For that branch, the freshness & consistency has gotten better since their move. Glad to see it’s still a well run family business. I like these types of falafel with chickpeas but I honestly prefer tameya Egyptian falafel it’s not made from chickpeas it’s made form favs beans. Or sometimes I like a mix from both fava and chickpeas but the chickpea only falafel usually isn’t my go to but I still enjoy it
Same here
Mamouns is to falafel like a fast and really satisfying $1 pizza slice is to pizza. Taim is to falafel like the best wood fired pizza from Naples. If you live in NYC and love falafel, try Taim. It is truly next level.
Taim is great. Tanoreen in Bay Ridge is awesome too if you’re ever headed to Coney Island or out that way.
@@prn718 agreed! I love Tanoreen so freaking much. But it’s a different style. (Palestinian vs Israeli). Anyway. They have the best Brussels Sprouts in NYC and I always can’t wait to return
this place and the king falalfel are the best ... one is traditional egg shaped ... one is nyc version ... money green biatch
There are many different types of Falafel in the Middle East. Every country uses a different recipe but the main ingredients are Chickpeas or Favs beans.
Here in Egypt, we use favs beans instead of chickpeas which make all the difference. and we call it Falafel or Tameya.
When you try it you will know the difference and you will love it.
@Fist Bump Lol I do it half half compromise.
5:58: Would i put my hand onto the street and then straight onto my food...? mmh lovely work
Grow a pair why don't you
1yr from your comment and the world is up side down. I love that they have no face masks nor stupid sanitary controls.
@@W35-q9x "stupid" sanitary controls. Go ahead and get corona my friend, you'll see how "stupid" sanitation is you medieval
@@chaigonjenkins I got corona last month and now I am totally recovered.
40 years back, when I lived in NY, I ate there many times. Delicious
I have been coming to the original Mamouns location forever and it’s great. My go to is the shawarma which is outstanding!
My daughter is married to Mohammed, I grew up on Mamoun . Between the food truck, New Haven 😋, and Middletown connecticut locations in particular
Falafel so amazing I love it😋🤤
Some great falalels in LA as well. I totally agree it tastes great
This is indeed my number one spot in the city. Falafel every Saturday
Is it just me or does Mamoun look like Ringo Starr?
Agreed
It's really the best Falafel in NYC in West eillage on Mdgougal street..u should also try Barakat on Hudson Ave..sooo yummy
Yes to Syrian immigrant families adding so much culture to their hometowns!
Is there a THE END to NYC food exploration? What a great city..
*I love food insider videos! They're nicely filmed and edited and i love that they're so educational and fun to watch!* 😀👍
The only thing better than their excellent falafel sandwich is their lamb shawarma sandwich. That is superb.
I AM SO HUNGRY NOW. DAMN, THAT LOOKS SO GOOD.
beautiful tasty mini doco on my favorite food. thank you. peace and love
יש לי צו עיכוב יציאה
There is no falafel in NY without Mamoun’s. The Shawarma is crazy good as well.
Nice. I had so many of these when we lived in NYC. Delish!!
Awesome atmosphere, great food and the owners are very humble
This was one of my favorite places to eat when I went to NYU.
