    This would be a great addition to any school/college curriculum. This kind of knowledge presented by a master shipbuilder and his team is priceless!!! Thank you Alexei. May blessings be with you and your team, always. ♥️💞🙏

    Wow a really eloquent video on the premiere quality of the Bering yacht. The people who talk to us know what they are talking about. It really is the strongest boat I have seen so far.

    Alexi, your company is on the radar of deep pocketed mariners. Your clients, Victoria and her husband of Nautistyles and Nautiguys, are currently your best company exposure for marketing the Bearing Yachts. However, your personal building standards coupled with your calm and interesting personalty are the hallmark of Bearing

    I'm been boating since I was 14. I've owned wood boats fiberglass boats, I did all the work maintenance on the boats myself. when I got older. I only bought Sea Ray boats fiberglass but my next boat is going to be a Bering when the time is right. I love the company and I admire the family that owns it.

    Great video. The information presented was wonderfully done. The fire testing I believe is the most important part. I lost a fiberglass boat due to the aluminum one in the next slip having a fire. As your people are making these videos the crew is getting better and better at the presentation. Keep it up.

    This was a very informative video and interesting too. I’ve watched the “NautiStyles” and “NautiGuys” UA-cam channels and have learned a lot about your boats from their videos. I’m not a boat owner, but if money were no issue, your BERING boats would be a the top of my must-have-boat wish-list.

    Very well done Alexi! Beautiful production and extremely informative. You and your team set the standard in displacement yacht building. Now get back to work on Victoria and Rico’s 75. 😊

    As I've heard Alexi say more than once steel, aluminum and fiberglass all have their strengths and weaknesses and good builders can use all three to their advantage.

      We totally agree. All three materials are used in Bering, however, we always use the safest material for the specific task.

    Hiya Bering Yachts,
    Thank you for this great video. I understand more now. The aluminium burning through was a shock. I knew it was not fire-proof, but being that susceptible to failure was new information. Thank you for sharing all this with us.
    Stay safe, Steve...

    Thank You, This is enormously appreciated. Most builders tout their brand but never help the public understand why. This was the perfect amount of technical info. By the way, how do you attach the aluminum superstructure to the steel hull? Thanks again.

    This video was certainly an eye-opener when it comes to choosing which material you would prefer to have your boat built in for safety. It seems Bering yachts tick all the boxes when it comes to safety at sea with their steel and aluminium ratio preferred to say fibreglass or wooden built boats.

    About forty years ago I was eating lunch on the coast. This place had a lot of sailboats parked off the coast. I noticed a little smoke coming from one sailboat. It seems like within a minute or two the whole sailboat was a roaring fire. Sadly the gentleman tried to save his boat and got burned pretty bad. I never forgot that.

    Have you explore HPF (hot press forming) technology? It may save some weight without compromising the hull strength and rigidity

    Hello Alexei and team...can you go over the batteries used for the hybrid system? It is a concern for many that the lithium ion batteries will cause a tremendous fire that is nearly impossible to put out. But there are explosion and fireproof batteries that just emit smoke if a cell fails. Is this the system you use? If you can please let us know

    One question. In the fire situation would you have to abandon ship no matter what because of how hot the hull is? Great video btw

    • @guspaz
      @guspaz Рік тому +3

      With a severe fire the goal is to slow it down as much as possible to give you more time to safely escape.

    Carbon fiber is also suitable as a hull building material, conveniently left out?

    • @Beringyachts
      @Beringyachts  Рік тому

      Thank you for your comment, Matthew. Carbon fiber is a material that we haven't looked at separately, only because it has similarities to fiberglass as a composite. You can refer to the discussion below this video where the pros and cons of this material are discussed.

    Appreciate the video but not sure what checking material hardness has to do with strength for impact resistance, harder materials are simply more brittle.

    Sadly, there was no mention of how the two dissimilar metals, steel and aluminum are joined. Corrosion between them could be a big problem.

    And carbon fibre... Which is stronger and lighter than all of these three (steel, alum, grp fibreglass in its various e and other types) - with caveats. Carbon fiber superstructures (flybridges. Etc.) can be larger than grp superstructures, need fewer supporting pillars, etc. Can offer larger windows - and also consider a whopping investment in ovens? that can control temp and humid, etc. for longer periods.

    • @NautiGrandpa
      @NautiGrandpa Рік тому +1

      Carbon fiber also carries noise and vibration more efficiently than the other materials. This noise problem requires so much more insulation and sound deadening techniques that the weight savings is used up.

    My biggest question to Alexy is, why not use the sea as your primary doutce of fuel, hydrogen powered systen were you are truly autonomous.
    You do have thick bulkheads that will. allow you to mount a Hydrogen fuel cell and generators that csn produce self sustaning infinite energy.
    Being able to produce your own energy makes you truly indeprndant.
