Hi guys. I will now be uploading twice a week so hopefully, you enjoy the increased frequency. Next video is out on Friday, but as always any suggestions for future videos are welcomed.
Re the Pogba v Silva comparison, is there a way of accounting for the systems they play in, City and Utd don't create goal scoring chances the same way after all.
Key passes is the final passe before a shot. Big chance created is a key passes with a high xa value. Xa: every key passes as an xa value so if for exemple a player passed the ball to the striker and the the striker shoot with a xg of 0.20 the player will be credited of 0.20xa. I think Expected assist from open play is the best way to judge a player playmaking ability. Meanwhile I think assist is a very bad representation because first of all it only show the last pass secondly it depends on the finishing of the player around you and thirdly a lot of them could come from set pieces. This is why I think expected assist from open is by far the best stat. You can go on Understats to see xg and xa
Thought the entire premier league season not a single player has managed to get past him. I think this is more impressive then scoring (in my opinion) 38 goals in a weaker league. He completely transformed the Liverpool dafance from conceding the most goals out of the top six to the least, while leading them to compete with Man City in the title race and possibly got them a Champions League win. Don’t get me wrong I still think Messi is the Goat but this season Van Dajk has been the best player and deserves the ballondor
I’m not sure the type of pass is a perfect metric. Deep lying playmakers May be unfairly judged because their creativity may consist of long passes into space. Or a fullback may put in brilliant crosses that get judged as less valuable than the cutback pass.

Great point, I am yet to see a way of quantifying this that is accurate but I will be on the look out
That’s just the eye test
do u have a video which explain difference b/w Xa , key passes & Big chance created.

So does understat use the most modern method of measuring xA like you said in the video?

7th from Sweden
1:34 player with ball is messi
How to measure defensive capabilities? These are only for attacking players

Exactly
You should add Spanish subtitles
In other words, silva > pogba... 🤭🤭🤭
